this is what happened IIRC: About 10 years ago, when Horse show was at its peak, Gabriel was making a lot of content for it and was often seen interacting with one of the VAs of the show. The VA voiced Apple Bloom who was a child character in the show. Because the show needed a young voice, they hired a young girl. Gabriel is about 10 years older.
At the time, many horse fuckers thought it was weird how close he was to her. I think he met her due to making himself a name in the horse fandom with all of his pony parodies. A few years later, a bomb hits that it wasn't Apple Bloom's VA that he was going after, but Sweetie Belle's, who was also around the same age and met him as a young teen. Apple and Sweetie are characters that were besties in horse show and because one of the VAs was interacting with him, it made sense the other would wind up meeting him as well.
The second she hit 18, they made their relationship public. This was seen as weird not only because of the age gap, but because he knew her when she was around 14 ish and was acting as a trusted mentor figure.
When the pandemic hit, they got married. She was around 21 and made a tweet saying it's what she wanted and how she wasn't groomed like people were saying and he talked about how it was all legal because nothing happened until she was 18, coincidentally.
This happened years ago and my mind is fuzzy but I am amazed that Viv hasn't gotten into controversy over this or that anti Hazbin fans haven't jumped on a 'VIV HIRES GROOMERS' crusade. This info is more obscure because of the horse show connection I guess.
