Genuine question, but when will the Simpsons actually end?
I haven't tuned into the show since the early season 20s, but I expected it to end at 30, which it didn't
I used to think that if one of the VAs gets too old, they'll likely end it, but from the recent clips I saw, Marge's VA sounds like she's about to pass out, yet the show is still going
So at this point, I'm wondering what force of nature can end the Simpsons?
Genuine question, but when will the Simpsons actually end?
Nuclear armageddon.
When the family va's die of age
It will stop doing seasons for a few specials a year before it truly ends.
Most if not all the OG cast are pushing 60-70
Until it stops making money
Bet The Simpsons will be the first project where they full-out unleash an AI cast
You have at least 10 more years left
Shearer is the oldest being 80
born the same year Simpsons went on the air
can quite literally measure my age by which Simpsons season is current airing
dread what happens the day the show is finally canceled
A husk just like his character
Have no fear, they've got story for years.
Life force is directly linked with the Simpsons
If one of you dies the other goes with
Anon, I know it's a heavy burden, but you know what you must do...
since the mid 2000's this show is nothing but a big money laundering scheme. It won't ever end
na,AI is a thing
patrician 1989 anon
Sazae-san has been going on since the late 60s. The Simpsons will just keep coming out until it doesn't make money anymore. Idk why amerifats are so quick to go onto the next thing. Real autistic bunch they got over there.
Atleast it will die with more notice and fanfare than what ever the hell South Park did to itself.
Sazae-san, Shin Chan, Detective Conan and the like aren't treated as entire templates for the rest of the industry.
I used to think this too but then I realized they're just going to keep them running forever by puppeteering the corpses of the simpson family with AI voices
Literally me.
I can't be bothered to remember things like what season Family Guy is on, but for The Simpsons I just got to check my age.
what season is The Simpsons on?
let's see what age am I?
35, the Simpsons is in it's 35th season
It helps that they churn out these episodes like it's some sort of factory. Rick and Morty, Smiling Friends, South Park, etc. they can have erratic release schedules but every year Simpsons WILL have a new season. Even the COVID years didn't change the "every year a new season" rule.
That and those shows are basically animated soap operas rather than full fledged comedies like the Simpsons. You can make Sazae-san run for decades because it’s cutesy and boring. You cannot separate the golden age from the shit with Matt Groening’s work. It’s standards are far higher
Never. They'll start using AI filters for the voices.
Even after the show ends, they’ll just keep putting out specials and reboots as it inevitably outlives everyone who originally worked on the show to begin with. We’ve already it happen to stuff like Loony Tunes and Scooby Doo.
the garbage is on its 36th season. The rule is half a season in the first semester and the fist half of the following season in the second semester. 1th season begun near the end of 1989
Has there been a cartoon, not a movie funded by millions from corpos, that used AI of dead VAs?
My family used to get together and watch every Sunday. I remember us sitting there stone faced through a whole episode and I tried to force a laugh but my brother wouldn't have it. He said something like "that wasn't and you know it wasn't funny" I said "y-yeah", my father concurred. We stopped watching and I haven't seen it in 20 years...
entire templates for the rest of the industry.
They will be. Dragon Ball isn't dying anytime soon.
You’ve been blessed/cursed with immortality, anon. Congrats.
never
they literally just did an episode making fun of the idea of ever ending
Never seen any Detective Conan media, but do they ever do anything interesting with the “adult detective turned into a child” concept at all, or is it just a pointless gimmick with no relevance?
THAT is what it's about? I thought he was just a prodigy.
Homer is going to be a Zoomer a decade from now:
Think about that shit!
When TV dies, which is not too far away
They never do anything because the main plot is not allowed to get anywhere
Honestly thats a better premise
When the VA cast is a comolete ship of theseus. Once all the family member VAs are dead they'll call it quits. Now all we have to guess is which will die first.....
They will just use AI anon
They have long gone past the point of ending it gracefully, so they should just recast and keep going forever
Looney Tunes didn't stop when Mel Blanc died
Same but just add a few years, so I was old enough to experience Simpsonsmania as it began
In contrast I was too young for He-Mania and too young to remember a time before Turtlemania
The voices aren't even that hard to mimic at this point, hell, a soundalike would probably sound better than whatever the hell Julie Kavner is doing nowadays.
Everyone screeching that they'll use AI to keep on trucking forever is an idiot. One of the core cast members dying will be a definite wake-up call for the world, and the moment they so much as try resorting to AI to refill that slot the sheer uncanny valley will kill the show immediately.
guys they won't end it, they'll use ai forever
Did you guys forget how fucking weird and creepy it was when the Sopranos had to deal with a cast member dying? youtube.com
This is some grandfather clock shit
I'm just wondering who is still watching Simpsons and keeping the show alive.
