actually shown to care about his friends

is taking pills in Cupid Ye

seeing a psychologist in the Panderverse special

Or is that wishful thinking for modern South Park? Of course they won't stop making Cartman the asshole fat kid of the group but he's clearly nowhere near being the full on megalomaniac mastermind he was in the mid seasons. Got me thinking if they have another ending planned for him in mind if that's the case

I think they probably have something planned. They seemed like they were genuinely testing the waters with a Cartman redemption arc both during the one member berries season and during the Covid specials, so it at least seems like an idea they're interested in. I get why; having an unrepentant psychopath as one of your main characters probably gets boring after 20 years.

If Trey remembers he based her off Liane, she'd probably be caught cheating on him with a choir singer and Stan will traumadump to Kyle about how he could've had it all then maybe draw her head on the body of a horse to cope.

Also, I've been catching up with some of the seasons/specials I missed, and, even though I think pretty much everyone would agree that the show isn't as good as it used to be, it surprises me how it's still generally very watchable. Like, watching new Simpsons or Family Guy episodes is physically painful, but South Park can still get a good, solid laugh out of me every time.

Yes, it's always been a point of consternation to the South Park Republicans in the fanbase and now the younger Tiktok fans who rage about them sexualizing innocent minors.
