I still have no idea what the hell this animation was suppose to be in context of. Ive heard rumors this was Judge's idea of a King of the Hill movie but like...Genies? KotH is only suppose to have shark jumping moments that seem believable like blowing up the Megalomart and maybe blowing up a car lot.
It was an ad for a promotional deal from the Will Rogers Institute
What a strange ad.
kek
Never saw this before but
Summer 2000
I wanna go back…
Do you think Hank would kick Barbequor ass for not using a propane barbecue?
See this at least made sense since originally, they wanted King of the Hill to be a family program like The Simpsons was which is why for a very brief time they wanted reruns of King of the Hill on the Fox Box network which never really amounted to anything because Fox Box was an outlet for Digimon the way WB was an outlet for Pokemon
Peggy Hill is down to her last BENcil
It's a gag animation but it would still be a great idea for a movie.
Before 9/11
No woke shit
The future still looked optimistic.
They took this from us.
I bet there's a good amount of fanfics for this.
Hank finds an ancient propane tank
He dusts it off and Shabbu emerges from it
"My first wish is for Propane to be seen as the greatest fuel source in the universe"
Aliens then invade for propane
Vinesauce stream made me rewatch King of the Hill again
Honestly I could dig that. I think if you were going to make a King Of The Hill movie you've got to think way bigger than just the show, and that means you've got to be willing to bend the rules a little on what you do in a "grounded" setting. Magic, sci-fi stuff, you've got to kind of go all out in a feature film. Mike Judge made Beavis & Butthead Do America so he already knows that.
what would be a good down to earth movie plot for KOTH?
I don't think you can't get a cleaner fuel that the sun.
What happens next?
How does Booby become a giant?
How does Dale get Invisible ?
All this did was bum me out that King of the Hill never got a movie despite being HUGE for FOX back in the day. What gives?
I like how the genie kinda looks like a Beavis and Butt-Head character
Hank being promoted to manager of Strickland only for it to disrupt his relationship with his friends and family so he can go back to the status quo by the end
After Hank makes his wish, Bobby makes a wish that he was finally "big".
Dale, after seeing what happened, makes the sensible wish to turn invisible.
He then catches Redcorn and his wife in the act.
awesome
The family has to take a business trip to Greenland cause Buck has bought into a natural gas reserve
Pre - 9/11
No woke shit
They even had obligatory wheel chair characters in ensemble shows to score points!
Why is the Superman touching the boy also where's the wheelchair?
where's the wheelchair?
Not in that specific case, but you remember the BK Kids Club, right?
Dale probably wished that the government couldn't track his activities
How is this woke? Woke is specifically modern liberal raging about whites and sexism
Where was Hank during Annihilation?
They moved to digital coloring as early as 2000?
Bobby becomes a giant due to an alien growth ray and Dale uses the second wish to become invisible so he can sabotage the alien ship
no way man bobby becomes a giant because hank wishes to shabu that bobby would "start growing up" after a particularly immature embarrassing outburst of his and dale is invisible because he sneaks into hank's garage and wishes to be free of government surveillance.
Shabu very likely gave Hank only three wishes and he used the last wish to make everything back to normal
They experimented with it in an episode produced in 2001 ("Bobby Goes Nuts") but like The Simpsons they were reluctant to go digital and finally gave in around 2003.
So maybe this ad was an early experiment to see how it would look.
Hank gets upset with Bobby and wishes he'd "Grow Up" and similarly gets mad at Dale and wishes he'd disappear.
yes dale's wish doesn't count as one of hanks.
bill and boomhauer also got wishes but their wishes were less dramatic (boomhauer wishes for a show he doesn't like to be taken off TV and bill is indecisive until he says "I wish I knew what would be a good wish!" and shabu says "done" and refuses to give him any more wishes)
So we're arguing whether it's a multi-wisher plot vs. a single-wisher plot.
yeah i think multi is funnier cuz hank can be annoyed with his friends
I know i've seen this before but it must be like 12+ years or more. still pretty damn funny.

wasn't the theme song also digitally inked?
