So Anon Babble, did you watch The Day the Blew Up in theatres?
So Anon Babble, did you watch The Day the Blew Up in theatres?
*the Day the Earth Blew Up
shit I'm tired as fuck
Yes, and I used my movie pass to get a seat in the corner every single day it was playing in my theater.
I went out of my way to do it. Tried to rope others in with me but seemed a combo of bad timing and not much interest led to just me going. Glad that there were 10 others in my theater at least.
no I don't like loony toons
loony toons
yep, still playing in a small town one small town from me (beach cities, LA). I caught the matinee yesterday, about 20-30 people. It's only playing one show weekdays, two over the weekend.
yeh it was pretty fun
I don't watch cartoons sorry
Yes and I want to watch it again but I wish to watch it alone this time. moviegoers are a fucking mess and I hate them.
I wanted to take my family to see it, but the only theater showing it in my area played it for a single weekend and took it off to make room for Snow White. I've been trying unsuccessfully to find another theater within two hours of me. I'd settle for just being able to watch at home at this point.
Yes, went with my brother. It was good, I don't think if ever hit a strong laugh that a classic cartoon could muster but it was steady in its quality. Beautiful artwork too.
The fucking hacks in my area didn't even released it, apparently it was supposed go come out dubbed around here this week but all the of the kinoplex in my area are still showing snow white and minecrafta movie, one of them is even still airing Captain america movie.
Did "okay" in ticket sales despite lack of any conventionally attractive female characters
Imagine how well it could've done if they'd put a hot girl in it.
The HoA lady was pretty hot for a cougar.
I would've if they aired this in any theaters in Mexico. I heard they're delaying its release here until mid April so maybe holy week can bring in some people to the theater.
Your standards are so low they're in the Earth's core. Here, let me remind you what a conventionally attractive woman looks like.
They didn't release it in theatres here
There were a lot of nice background characters
I live in Russia, so no.
I did. It was good. Unlike many animated films it didn't try to lean too hard on sentimental stuff and played the brief rift between Porky and Daffy very simply.
Likewise it didn't include too much of certain characters like the pink woman, letting them just be plot devices.
The bait-and-switch with the alien was fairly funny, and I like how it casually included foreshadowing to the twist.
There are some small defects, like how Porky gets more and more impaitent with Daffy's shit when him being right about the alien gum should have pushed him pretty far in the other direction.
I saw it twice, might consider seeing it a third time
Why do they look like they're going through post nut clarity?
Yes and I had the whole theater to myself
dat jiggle physics
It'll come to your country someday
Silly Symphonies
Happy Harmonies
Merrie Melodies
Looney Tunes
Harveytoons
Terrytoons
keep in mind, most of the characters were designed by Katie Rice
It literally won't lmao, Warner revoked the rights
What I mean is that it'll just go direct-to-streaming or direct-to-video and skip its theatrical release because of this
You're mixing things up
yea, but Katie Rice did work on the movie
it didn't came to my country so no.
You joke, but this is unironically how most people feel about anything animated. Even if it's something as iconic as Looney Tunes, they'll be hesitant to go out and seek it because they refuse to enjoy anything even remotely silly unless it's raunchy and graphic as hell.
normies are warming up to animation, my boss was geeking out about the animatrix and the goofy movie the other day
cute pigs
Yes I did with my cousin.
Yes, it was ok. The first half is stronger. About 75% in it drags a little.
Nice to see early Daffy being used. Too many cartoons of the past 20 years depend too much on the stupid dick Daffy of Chuck Jones.
Only real gripe is that the humans look like parodies of warner humans and not actual humans from the old shorts. Like humans from the pinky and the brain show. Or animaniacs.
I guess those are still warner humans but it makes the movie a mishmash of designs.
Porky... Save me some
Yes, had a good time. There were kids in my theater who had probably never seen Looney Tunes before and they were laughing their asses off, so the medium still has some legs, hopefully.
You can tickle my taste buds any time!
Porky is one of us
Those kids will be confused if they see stuff where Daffy isn't paired with Porky as is obsessivly jealous of Bugs instead.
