I might be the only person left who still gives a shit about this series, but fuck it, Chaos Theory S3 soon

Chaos Theory is pretty good. You should watch seasons 2 & 3 of Camp Cretaceous, but probably not watch 4 & 5, which are very different from the first 3 seasons and jump the shark on a lot of things. I love Jurassic Park, and CC is honestly the best of the Jurassic World content.

I'm hopelessly enslaved to this franchise so I'll keep coming back for what and whenever they make more but I understand the feeling

Them being on the island was nice. Reminded me of my old childhood daydreams.
Now it's just thrillerslop. There's nothing to discover or explore, it's mystery box nonsense that doesn't mean anything.

Maybe they'll finally reveal the secrets of the pyroraptor and why it like ice and snow.
Also props to Chaos Theory for taking the most memorable dinosaurs from Dominion and making them the overall primary villain dinosaurs of the series. Love me the evil atrioraptor team

Yeah I saw all of Camp Creataceous. I preferred the first seasons when they're on the first island, it feels the most justified with the situation. My main frustration was when they'd put themselves in harms way unnecessarily, but I get it, we need dinosaur danger excitement. Still, any time with "Oh no, those dinosaurs are locked up in cages! We gotta free them!"
"Help help! The dinosaurs we freed are trying to eat us!"

Yeah, I watched all of CC, and like I said above it's good despite my frustrations. The characters are really engaging, interesting personalities and how they bounce off one another. Genuinely like the changes done in Chaos Theory just to play with it, especially Ben getting so tall and his improved bravado (although that transformation happened in the previous series). It's just at times when characters do stupid decisions resulting in danger, even considering fear and adrenaline making them not think things through.

Yeah, what's with that? Seems like a very universal fantasy, surviving in the wilderness. Is it just our human drive to conquer nature?

Is there any place where I can stream this for free? Wcostream aka watchcartoon rarely gets this stuff immediately, anymore. Sometimes it's a day or even a month later. Hypothetically, of course, I would never do such a horrible thing.

OH, I forgot to write but I really didn't like that Brooklynn survived at the end of season 1. Like, sure, I want to see more of her, but I liked that she was a posthumous character who we only got to see in flashbacks and videos. It gave it all some higher stakes that death WAS a possibility, even if we know they won't do it for the rest.

They need to push her a bit back towards her Camp Cretaceous look and persona.

The classic blunder of Jurassic Park is thinking you have to/can go beyond the formula. The entire draw of the franchise is being trapped somewhere where dinosaurs can kill you and the fact that you're seeing dinosaurs. That's it. That's the whole thing. When you fuck with it it's always a mistake.

So, on the whole I'd give it a "not terrible"
I'm not sure how vibe with the format/placement
The first season being contemporary with the JW movie worked for the series intro, but I think the show has performed best when allowed to exist in its own lane. In this they felt a bit too intertwined with the movie plot, to the season's detriment I think. The characters were too tightly bound to the big plot scenes so there was a feeling of limitation knowing they couldn't stray far from nor do much independent of Dominion. And the end of this season foretells pretty much the same thing for 5

Need to sit on it some more but ultimately I really got my fill of Dominion tie-ins during CC season 5, and don't need Chaos Theory retreading that ground as well

Why are the children's cartoons based on a horror novel? Keep in mind, the first two movies are very much softened from the source material and even though Nedry's death is a bit terrifying in the movie, it's nothing compared to the gruesome detail of the book.

The show and even the franchise as a whole quickly lose its charm after the 28th time someone endangers people to save a dangerous dinosaur or the 13th time the antagonists try the same "what if instead of guns, the military used dinosaurs" plot. The appeal of the original film is an extremely novel premise, a well-executed plot, with endearing characters, some of the best special effects of the time, and endlessly memeable moments.

Every sequel and spinoff since has been trying to replicate the original's success while missing why it succeeded.

I think with the recent Jurassic world movie, I've enjoyed the retcon that these aren't dinosaurs but genetically made monsters. Like an alt universe of what if people played god and just started making creatures.

That's not a retcon though, they explained in the first movie that the DNA they got from the fossilized amber was missing sequencing that they replaced with modern animals like the frog that changes genders
And that's why the "dinosaurs" were able to mate and have their own eggs

i will say that this show actually managed to trick me. when the trailer came out for season 1, i remember everyone, including me went "ok so she's obviously still alive". however, the show kept this shit going on much longer than i expected. i started to genuinely believe brooklynn might be dead but then boom, the big reveal. if she stayed dead, there'd be more suspense but i do like where her story arc is heading. plus im just a sentimental bitch, so im glad everyone is still alive
