Zot's world is a near perfect idealistic paradise but as a result the very rare tragedies and horrors within it hit even harder when they do pop up

Jenny's world is our world, it's mundane at best and bleak at worst but as a result, every genuine miracle and act of humanity become even more precious

Is that accurate?

idk I've never heard of this

You've never heard of Zot?

Eh, I don't blame him
Zot's critically acclaimed but I don't think the full series ever had a modern re-release, just the black and white issues and they're not on digital
Apparently the publisher tried but the image/text quality got messed up or something

i don't think i've read anything by eclipse

9-Jack-9 is so fucking cool you guys

After some thinking, is Zot a manic pixie dreamboy?
He'd come across as one especially in the last arc to whomever isn't aware of his origins

Just finished the original 10 issue "key saga". This really should be one of the all-time cult classics. Shame that it's not more often spoken of in modern comics fandom circles.

I want to read this soon.

Any of you guys read the Zot! webcomic

Yeah
I liked it but I'm on the same boat

You should.

Cool page.

Really sucks to hear about his wife though

Looked it up
Ouch

this looks cool, let me check the artist

TDS

nope, shan't be reading.

Shame that it's not more often spoken of in modern comics fandom circles.

You can say that about many books

Letting politics get in the way that badly

Your loss dude

I have not, thot.

Very nice

He’s right though

Speaking of which, what are some other "forgotten cult classics" or "never were, but should have been cult classics"?

Patty Cake

The Puma Blues

When I was going through old all-ages indie comics, Mark Crilley's Akiko showed up plenty of times for cameos or for guest illustrations.

Lethargic Lad
Pic related was a cover done by Alex Ross

I honestly think Zot has one of the best rogues gallery for a non-Marvel/DC hero so it was cool seeing more Dekko

Hepcats

I'm a Christian and I still enjoy a couple of Garth Ennis' comics

I always hear that Finder is really good.

This is good. It's like all those old comics about little kids from the Silver Age, except kind of psychotic lol and more blatantly made for adults (while still having PG content).

Too weird for me and not in a good or fun way. Looks nice though.

This is pretty good. I'm surprised this isn't more successful. It seems like it'd be a big hit in the Scholastic book market.

This guy would later do crappy how to draw manga books

Couldn't get into this. It was (expectedly) dull.

fur faggotry

Couldn't bring myself to care about anything in this.

Yeah, I don't really see the appeal in a comic where the whole gimmick is that it's genuinely sort of lazy.

Man I miss the days when furries were still so niche that a furry comic was just comic to everyone else. They were also waaaay less fetishy back then.

I'd suppose so. Although I guess other YA girl protagonist novels would feature that as well, or are love interests in a different category?

weird taste

It's okay, the writer's most well-known work is Understanding Comics which is a meta exploration of the art form. Just to show how times have changed, the sequel Understanding Manga was a feature in an issue of Wizard Magazine.

Every issue of Understanding Comics say from the writer of Zot but it would behoove me better to find a TPB of Zot marked "From the author of Understanding Comics."

Thieves & Kings

Men have

She can fix me

Girls have

I can fix him

Eh....Crilley is one of the better ones when it comes to that sort of stuff from a gaijin

Person is illogical, has no common sense, can't think straight

You trust this person

You give money to this person

Nope.

What are second hand markets

What is piracy
