They really should have made Eclipsa an actual villain or at least bad inference that Star can grow from realizing how shitty she is. "Le she was just misunderstood" shit was one of the worst discussions ever.

Eclipsa being the polar opposite of Star, complete with being known as the "Dark Star", the Eclipse, would have been thematically pretty cool.

I know that it would never be approved by any network, but my personal vision for a show like this would be to keep Star this relatively amoral force of nature while still slowly expanding the emotional depth of the monsters. Like you eventually see that the monsters aren't all that bad, but she still beats the shit out of them anyway. Riding the fine line between humorous and excessive cruelty could be fun.

The writers must have fallen in love with the character and decided to give her a happy ending. Yeah I get it, but refusing to make Eclipsa a villain was a detriment to the show.

That would've been pretty fun. It would've cast into question(more than usual) just how in the right the Butterfly family was regarding their claim to all of Mewni, as well as the treatment of the Monsters.
Its a shame, she'd be even hotter as a Villaiin.

It always annoyed me how Star never actually used her bow-wand when she appeared in the left design.

It's always funny how Steven universe fans always make him the center of attention in art like this, when in reality the show is already irrelevant. someone in 20-30 years from now will look at this art like "who the fuck is this fat kid?"

Annoys me that they never brought back armored Star and her giant mace.

Not an opposite but a grave warning of what could happen if Star were to truly live a devil-may-care life. She is an exaggerated version of Star, showing what it looks like if someone like Star were to fully rejected responsibilities and only think about herself and her own interests. Star might start off thinking Eclipsa is just some fun-loving magic user like her, but she would soon learn that the only person Eclipsa really cares about is having fun and doesn't care who gets hurt in the process.
It's a lesson about responsibility that Moon is on the opposite end of. Moon is what happens when you let your responsibilities and proper decorum rule your life. She's a stick in the mud who's in a loveless marriage with a man she actually loves. Like, she's in love with River and chose that relationship for herself, but she can't enjoy it because she has to be the proper, upright queen.
Ideally, the show should have a message about the importance of balancing one’s life. Star should find a middle ground that allows her to be a good queen while also not ruining her life in the process.
They could have at least had her get redeemed instead of that "actually she was always a good person" shit.

I'd watch tf out of this. It's a real shame how they completely dropped the ball with this show, might've been the cartoon with the biggest potential from that time period. The genuinely good and interesting routes they could've taken with the story were infinite and yet they went with the worst possible one. It's mind-blowing. Daron has to be retarded.

This sounds very likely. Really goes to show that you can't give these people the space to follow their hearts and do whatever they want in the writers' room, there has to be a well thought out storyline in place that no one is allowed to deviate from (unless someone comes up with something even better that can be seamlessly worked into what's already been established, which never happens) for these serialized cartoons to work.

That is a more valid assessment than what I had originally conceived. I will save this for future posting. Moon on one side, Eclipsa on the other. Star being given the choice of the Third Path, to walk her own path.
Man, what a let down.

Funny thing is season four was the worse but had potential in the first few episodes, there is a flip int he scrip with Star doing all the queen stuff all over her head while Eclipsa is the Queen but either sucks at her job or is completely disinterested on it. Its a nice chance of pace that sadly doesn't last.

Eclipsa sort of was that in some episodes, like the one where She only cares about freeing her husband and doesn't really care about her subjects. I thought they where going to go the route of Eclipsa giving the throne to Star since is clear she only cares about her family while Star cares about everyone but instead they went for the kill all magic to stop racism storyline.

I'm going to head to bed but I'll take an Eclipsa request for the morning.

I view season 4 as a bad end, or rather an ending where Glossaryck's centuries long experiment to give peons power and see what happens failed.

It's obvious that they either didn't have a plan or they abandoned it halfway through the show.

Yep

literal cuckqean

was the villain all along

yeah that fits desu

I wonder how much of the story had to be reworked after removing Glosseryck because of his VA's scandal.

Don't care. Still want to fuck Star in the mouth.

Eclipsa is Dante
Moon is Vergil
Star is Nero

Stopped watching after S1. Should I continue?

no

Who is Caligula?

Do you watch it because of the story or just to fuck Star?
Former? No
Latter? No

Most of the fun I've had watching this shit was with the shitposting here during/after the episodes.
There's barely anything of worth in it to go back to, so I would say only watch it if you're REALLY curious.

It was a wonderful time, wasn't it?

Would Star grow into a titty monster or an ass monster?

It was the last time I saw Anon Babble so full of energy, and it's looking like it was the last time, PERIOD.
I just wish I participated in it more.

I used to participate in the Star Draw threads on my crappy laptop and old tablet. It wasn't good, but it made people happy.

I fucking love her. I hate that the final season(s?) ruined all discussion of the show forever.

Dude that day ruined Star Vs. and Game of Thrones.

What a ride.
I remember leaving the board a bit only to return to SVTFE thread being absolute shit.

Same. I gave up Anon Babble and Anon Babble entirely from 2017 onward, and only came back during the pandemic. The star vs. threads were the only reason I stayed.

amphibia threads were really good
those were the truly last good times on here
it's all been literally shit after that

I never had a chance to check out Amphibia. Gave up TV for good after GOT and Star.

I prefer to remember Star what it used to be. Not the abomination it has become.

Maybe we can pretend it's 2016 again.
Just for a bit.
