Wasn't this a little bit too much? Jean already outed the poor guy then she says this to him. Also happy pride Anon Babble

outed

I don't think you're using that phrase quite right.

I mean Jean did probe Bobby’s mind and said right to his face that he’s gay before he even got the chance to figure himself out. This was all because he flirted with Magik. She even shot down the possibility of him being bisexual at least. Insisting he is “full gay”

Marvel features teen Jean doing the unethical telepath speedrun, including a scene where she uses her powers to brainwash her teammate Angel

Marvel also features teen Jean using her powers to suddenly brainwa- I mean discover that her teammate Iceman has been gay along

Seriously, was everyone just asleep at the wheel?

Is it this time of the year again?

that webm

Why has it become such a meme lately?

That's still not outing

It's being invasive and ignoring boundaries
But that's not outing

Maybe everyone except for Bendis. Don't know if that's better or worse.

putting these well known characters who've been around for literal decades in new situations that challenge even thier own idea of themselves (and therefore our own ideas about our own selves) is bad because.........IT JUST IS, OKAY?!

NOW MAKE THEM PUNCH THE PURPLE ROBOTS AGAIN!!!!!!

it'd be kinda hot if they did house of m but it's jean forcing all the men into her fujoshi fantasies

I mean I wouldn't be surprised if she did that already with Scott and Logan. Albiet it was simply performative, nothing amounting to anything substantive. Leaving it all mostly ambiguous.

Still pretty shitty to do.

Happy men's health month anon!
Idk what this comic has to do with that though. We've always celebrated men's mental health every June.

We've always celebrated men's mental health every June.

On Anon Babble of all places? Sure, Jan.

Adult Bobby does say he felt like he was outed in one of the later X-Books during the Krakoa Tie-In phase. Jean really doesn't care and pretty much placates him info being a stereotypical gay best friend joke at the end of it though.

Way to miss the point, are you retarded?
We JUST had a huge step off the status quo for the X-Men with Krakoa, and while very divisive, it's not nearly as hated as the decision to make Jean into a fucking psychopath.
The problem wasn't that they were doing something new with the characters, it's that the writing was convoluted and garbage, and it made Jean Grey look like a villain. She literally brainwashed a teammate, was invasive and didn't care for Bobby's boundaries when outing him(which looked like a reaction to humiliate him after he flirted with Magik), and it's all treated as it's something normal, she gets NO repercussions for her actions. That's on the writing
Just because a writer wants to do something different with these characters, doesn't mean that it's going to be good writing immediately. Having the OG X-men eating a huge plate of shit for an entire issue is a situation that challenges even their own idea of themselves, but it doesn't make it good writing.

There's only 12 months. Shit overlaps. Grow up.

Go write your own X-Men comic then. Show us all how it's done.

Someone shat on your plate at a restaurant but you can't criticize it because you're not a chef!

That's you

Just saying. Complaining whilst actively doing nothing to remedy the situation just makes you the little bitch. You don't like something about the world, work to change it. Simple as

it's outing at the meta level because she's telling the audience. in universe it isn't, which can partly justify the characters not getting on her case specifically about that (instead they get on her case for what she did to other characters) while readers did get mad about it even if they didn't personally object to bobby being gay.

Jeen just wanted to be a fag hag.

It was deliberate, not a mistake, Bobby got too close to one of Bendis's waifus while not being one of his approved self inserts or a black guy so he got that weaponized homosexuality because of how people in the industry know that making a character gay in that era killed them harder than actual death. Notice how after that run, Iceman became nothing but the token turbofaggot and never matters ever again? Defacto intended.

Bobby got too close to one of Bendis's waifus

Well look where that got Bendis.

Really what's the point of making everyone bi or gay?

And I, for one, welcome our new qt lesbian overlords

to push degeneracy onto children creating a loyal voter base

they're doing the exact same thing we're doing because petty tribalism is all there is to the human experience!

there's quite literally no other possible explanation that makes even a lick of sense!

Anon......

everyone

It's far from everyone believe it or not. Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Gambit, Rogue, Storm, Human Torch, etc. Are all still straight.

Nah, you're just moving goalposts, your original post was "oh you people keep complaining about new takes on these characters and just want big purple robots" and when I gave actual reasons for those complaints, you moved your goalpost to

Oh if you dislike this so much why don't you pivot your entire career to become a writer to a specific comics company then eh??? checkmate!!!

You're just retarded lmao

You post means nothing when we have proof USAID and other orgs spent trillions to push this degeneracy

Your God is too small

trillions

So everyone in the world is gay now? Is that the takeaway here?

sweet Jesus, you call this a baseball game?!

just hit the damn strike zone already!

fuck, I could play better than these dipshits!

im not gonna cause i don't wanna get all dirty and stuff and it looks pretty hard, all told, but still!

This is you. This is what you sound like.

Why Bobby though?

In hindsight, this comic's attempt to be woke accidentally makes Jean look like a huge homophobic cunt.

whataboutism

not that anon, but your a faggot.

He wasn't even gay, she used her phoenix telepath skills to brainwash Bobby in to believing he was always gay, just so she could have a token gay bff on the team.

NTA but it does explain that a lot of corporations were using the LGBTQ+ stuff as a smokescreen for embezzlement. They know that modern LGBTQ+ movements are kneejerk reactionaries that'll support anything with a Pride Flag stamped on it like the spineless squealing sychophantic swine they truly are.

There is more money every year in the gender transition industry than there is in all of Hollywood combined. That's why there has been such a big push to troon out the kids- once on hormones they are subscription customers for life, and when you add on the $20,000+ cosmetic castration and gender and breast mutilation surgeries, it's even more money for the medical industry.

Exactly. Even when she finally gets called out for it. It's still mostly brushed aside.

Seriously, was everyone just asleep at the wheel?

It honestly feels like there was a plan for Teen Jean to go bad but at some point along the way the plan was dropped. Her telepathy is reactivated years earlier than it originally happened in the Silver Age, and at the same time as she's struggling to deal with that, she also learns the entire history of her adult self's life, right up to how she's destined to get cucked, then killed, and she starts acting out, trying to change her life and not become that woman who died, from dating Beast instead of Cyclops, to brainwashing Angel, to that evil future team of X-Men where the female Xorn is revealed to be a teen Jean who stayed in the present and grew up there.

But just like the O5 being brought to the present to fight Cyclops, there's no payoff, it just gets forgotten about aside from Bendis making teen Jean an awful person and it influencing how both fans and writers see adult Jean now, because none of them read old comics.

The Iceman scene was just Bendis being tone deaf and not thinking anyone would see anything wrong with it. is probably right about why Bendis made Bobby gay, combined with how it meant Bendis had left a permanent, unretconnable legacy in his X-Men run.

In Kitty's it's just canonizing something that most longtime fans had more or less taken for granted since last millennium. It's what Claremont always intended for her.

Bobby did say he was outed. They whitewashed it so Jean could get a cheap karma pass for the whole thing but it felt hollow in the end too.

Which still bugs me to this day. What were they thinking?

it's all a scheme to make money!

that's it!

no there's no profit to be made in acknowledgement of your fellow man's innate right to exist on thier own terms, why the FUCK would anyone be incentivized to actually be kind, caring people without any profit motive?

Just admit your misanthropy and move on with your life already, Jesus...

show us on the doll where the psychic redhead mutant lady hurt you

That's so fucking stupid, it's not outing

And if left to his own device Bobby would never have come out and would have just kept fucking Kitty Pryde or Mystique

So the correct response should be "thank you Jean Grey, I was miserable in the closet and fucking the ugliest dykes, now I can suck all the dick I want"

Hey Jean how's it going?
