Bombs because captain America 4 was trash

bombs because captain America 4 was trash

Unfortunate. If this was a few years ago this would be like guardians of the galaxy. Very good film and well written. All the characters done better than their own fucking movies/shows did them

Also I fucking hate Sam Wilson in the MCU. He was a bland character when Steve was around, and he’s a lame bitch character now

Plus, trying so hard with the racial issues thing feels so bizarre in his show. The MCU had racially integrated US units in WW2, which really life didn’t have as segregation was in force. Racism in general doesn’t show up like in real life, but then they decide no, actually it was there the whole time. America will never accept a black man with the Stars and Stripes on him (ignore Rhodey doing that a few years ago btw)

John Walker and Bucky are both better equipped to be captain America, even just powers wise, having wings and a shield feels so fucking clunky

Lives rent-free in Anon Babble's head

Why were all the background extras asked to casually walk by like action didn't just happen.
We literally had an armored car crash into the avengers tower and not a single police officer responded nor civilian reacted.
I know we got a lot of superheroes in newyork but you should still glance towards the giant red russian man yelling at his daughter to bond with her.

Why even pretend that Taskmaster is part of the movie if she dies after a single scene.

Why did Bucky immediately quit his government position instead of contacting some agency to work along with. Sure the congress was a bunch of boring packets but this is the same world that has agencies like SHIELD qho are easily able to get agents into and out of places as needed for the mission. There were surely options.

Who is spamming these threads theres 3 today alone for a movie thats barely above the 2016 Suicide Squad.

Bucky became a congressman off screen

Did Nothing

Leaves his Congress job

To be fair, MCU always do this.

Why were all the background extras asked to casually walk by like action didn't just happen.

it's New York.

Unfortunate. If this was a few years ago this would be like guardians of the galaxy.

Awful?

He shows up at the end of Thunderbolts to cry about them being the New Avengers and saying he's going to sue.

he shows up

Does he?

Thunderbolts*

*this is actually a thread where op spergs out over falcon

dunno what he's on about, he doesn't show up
he does however file for copyright of the Avengers trademark and Bucky tried to talk to him, but it "went badly".

He sued them for infringement, which means he already owns the copyright.

It's a symptom of modern day writing. The writers have no respect for these properties that give them jobs and don't how badly they shit up for the next person.

Why do posters sperg out and get pissy when you bring up the omission of Crimson Dynamo and Perun?

It's honestly very hard to dig yourself out of a hole when you bomb too often in a row.

So, what, you think the MCU is now in a death spiral?

That would SUCK for Disney, since it's one of their main moneymakers as a company.

What were they thinking introducing yet another team the general public doesnt give a shit about that doesnt have the instant mass appeal of the Fantastic Four? I think people are just not impressed by the whole band of misfits gimmick either when we already had two different Suicide Squads and Guardians.

you think the MCU is now in a death spiral?

For their tv shows and non-event movies, yes.
And even then there's only so much nostalgia pandering for the Sony and Fox Marvel movies you can do before people are sick of it.

Please bomb, we need out of the MCU era of cinema, please!

Most people don't know what the Thunderbolts are. Even comic book fans. Guardians of the Galaxy had a lot of appeal for families with kids because of Groot, Rocket, Chris Pratt, and Batista. Suicide Squad had a lot of appealing characters and actors like Harley Quinn, Joker, and Will Smith.

Thunderbolts really doesn't have any A-list celebrities as actors. It's mostly just C list actors who aren't all that well known.

wonderwoman.jpg - 1641x1534, 219.42K

honestly the most well known are Sebastian Stan and maybe David Harbour, followed by Wyat Russell and Lewis Pullman who are both the sons of famous actors.

To be fair, that's why they had that whole "asterisk" gimick.
The movie is no longer "The Thunderbolts" it's "The New Avengers" now.

MCU was built off the back of the shared universe. You HAD to see every movie to get the “full story”. The tent pole avengers movies and civil war etc were all well recieved so people were ok with lesser ones like thor 2 and shit

Biggest example is captain marvel making a BILLION off the back of being tied so hard to endgame which people actually wanted to see. It’s sequel bombing so hard is because it has no appeal outside of that

The two death knells for the MCU were

A) after Endgame they made an executive decision to scale BACK the movies which was stupid. Covid also happened. Disney plus happened. All adding up to them deciding to make a bunch of mediocre MCU tv shows that simply weren’t worth the cost.

They said people didn’t need to watch them to still understand the films and that ended up being bullshit too

B) the decision for the new overall MCU story, one to be about Kang and the multiverse, timelines and shit

It made everything seem way too inconsequential. Who the fuck cares about Kang as a villain when he’s so replaceable? He literally dies and gets replaced by himself. It’s not compelling

Likewise, the multiverse being leaned into so hard devalued how much people cared about the main MCU. It weakened its integrity

These weren’t entirely new problems. I remember even when endgame was being praised, people said it was lame thanos at the end fight wasn’t even the same one from infinity war. All character development and moments to create character interactions were erased

They panicked hard so this is what led to doom being the new villain, he’s super popular, and with the most popular former actor too

Will this work? Probably in buffing doomsday’s box office, and battleworld or whatever but the wider universe is still crippled

If Fantastic Four is as good as Thunderbolts*, then I do think the MCU is at least on the PATH to salvaging their non-event movies.

As of now, only the event movies will break out.

doesnt have the instant mass appeal of the Fantastic Four?

Anon, normalfags don't care about the FF.

It's weird how they mishandled him not only as a character but an actor as well. Mackie always took the piss out of Marvel movies more than anyone else when he was first cast, and it's pretty obvious they would have been better off writing his character to fit in moves like Guardians or Thunderbolts rather than whatever we ended up with.

Go back to Iron Man 1 2 & 3. They were popular for a reason. Most of America is Conservative Trump supporters who want family values. The guy in this is wearing a literal Commie uniform thats supposed to counter Captain America. Everything they've been doing is lgbt postmodernism. We don't want that utter China Liberal shit

Hes not that great. Hes kinda bland. Reminds me of Will Smith 2.0.

The unattractive girl is pretty funny though.

new fantastic four

gonna be good

bro they have milktoast pascal as mrs.fantastic,a simp johnny storm and a "i don't need no man" sue storm who happens to be the main character with a wierd female sliversufer. You REALLY think this woke slop is gonna be good?

come on.jpg - 630x630, 73.66K

The TV shows were a mistake and then MOM/L&T/Quantamania/Marvels/BNW just finished the job.

Is that fucking deathstroke the terminator?

The key word was 'if' anon. I keep an open mind. I may very well hate it.

If Thunderbolts was released even 3 years ago, it probably would be performing much better than it is. It'd have probably passed the $200m mark by now. Maybe even $230m.

This also explains why Creature Commandos performed so badly on Max.

To be fair they really have only done "Nostalgia Pandering" for 2 movies arguably 3 movies at this point. So there's definitely quite a bit more Marvel can do with the universes of the Sony and Fox movies.

Florence Pugh is also fairly well known.

I don't think the overall storyline they chose post Endgame was a bad decision, just a poorly executed one for the most part anyway.

They definitely botched Kang.
It'll definitely work at the Box Office purely on 2000s Nostalgia alone.

Unless you're talking about the Tim Story Dulogy. Or the character of Ben Grimm in General.

At least the visuals sans Sliver Smurfette look great.

This also explains why Creature Commandos performed so badly on Max.

James Gunn is weird, he seems almost obsessed with portraying obscure comic book characters in his films, but he doesn't even portray them correctly.

this worked for Guardians since really nobody gave much of a shit at the time and Chris Pratt's Starlord is great, but now he wants to do it to everything.

Anon, the Fantastic Four movies weren't popular back then. And none of their cartoons were all that popular either.

They really should have just done Dark Reign. Have Red Skull come back from space or reveal another Zola AI and have them start pulling shadowy shit in the background until they take over.

Leaks confirm Sue stops galactus by convincing the silver surfer she’s being held in abusive relationship by a toxic man in galactus

what?

She tells the surfer a story about how she was in an abusive relationship before Reed, and compares it to how the surfer has to do galactus bidding and this is what leads to the surfer rebelling and helping them

Why was Sam so mean to John Walker who had like three purple hearts when he was introduced as a ptsd counsellor?

It's definitely weird that despite being obsessed with those D-Listers, he rarely if ever cares about portraying them accurately. To the point they might as well be OCS.

It also worked for Guardians because Nicole Perlman wrote a great script, which he tried to get sole credit for.

He took his jern

Did it really bomb? Seems like it already hit the budget in a week

It needs to hit at least double its budget to not bomb, but I could definitely see that happening now with the word out about it

They were fairly popular. Not nearly as popular as the X-Men though.

Why not convince the surfer in a similar manner to what happened in Rise of The Sliver Surfer?

Yeah that was the character assassination of Sam Wilson, he didn't have to like John but he should have tried to help him.

Of course it didn't. This is the first four days only.

Wut.jpg - 1042x560, 68.12K

Walker was a racist who stole a black man’s job

There is nothing woke or progressive in the movie.
