Absolute Martian Manhunter is maybe one of the most creative and interesting Big 2 comics out there right now, if not outright one of the best. Wonder Woman is similar in quality, though lacking the uniqueness of MM in favor of just being all-around great.

Absolute Batman is pants on head retarded but extremely entertaining with some very nice twists on the characters and their roles/relationships. Absolute Superman is... Okay. I see this one get a lot of hate, but I don't think it's bad. It's definitely gotten better but it doesn't really do anything particularly interesting with its concept. It's fine though.

Haven't read the others. GL looks like shit and I don't really like Flash in general so I am in no hurry unless I get some serious recommendations on that front.

Martian Manhunter is the only one that isn’t absolute trash. It would be better with a better writer but the art carries it into “good to great” territory.

Spider-Man is fine, severely over hyped though and carried entirely by just how fucking bad ASM is in comparison. The idea of a successful, older, family man Peter Parker is certainly nice, but he's lacking a lot of the history and characterization that makes that concept appealing to begin with - something that I feel is somewhat responsible for how hard discussion on the run has dropped off since its initial showing.

Everything else right now is utter dogshit. Absolute has the benefit of having time to breathe and build up these characters within this new world in their own storylines with their own self-contained books. The Ultimate comics just jump straight into multiverse shit from the get-go and REALLY don't give us the time we need to get acquainted with them.

this really pisses me off about the ultimate universe, it drags in all this old multiverse baggage from the get-go and it is annoying if you just want to get into it because you want a fresh take on the characters. with absolute, the darkseid thing will probably be relevant eventually but the stories are just allowed to exist without referencing it every 5 minutes like the maker

Extremely weak premise, compared to nuUltimate Universe's.
But Absolute Martian Manhunter and Absolute Batman have been surprisingly pretty fun.
The picks for Absolute Batman's group of rotating interior artists have been the book's strongest point imo. Very cool to see the editors get people like Martín and Walta on board. They could've gone to an easier route and choose more "safe for casuals" artists for their major blockbuster title. Respect.

Batman and Superman didb't catch my attention. The Martian Manhunter looked like it was drawn/wriyten/composed by someone taking shrooms. Its kind of whimsical instead of serious. The Green Latern one looks like a sci-fi horror. Reminds me of an Outer Limits episode where a whole town gets abducted by aliens.

Martian Manhunter is still early days but has been enjoyable. Great art, hope they find ways to do more things like the Martian Vision bit from the first issue
Wonder Woman has been solid, Wondy herself is very likeable
The rest have been very nothing runs so far. Batman is actively bad, Snyder is one of the cringiest dudes of all time

I've been enjoying The Ultimates, but that poetry issue was stunningly bad.

There is a difference between "This work doesn't fit the standards and expectations of the overall superstructure its a part of".
And "This is a structural problem with the entire project that causes issues".
Ultimate X-Men is a good book but its not a good Ultimate Book and so loses points of that front because it is bound in with the rest of the line.
