family guy and a lot of shows aren't rigged/puppetry animation but sure look like it
they are sometimes, those slow lifeless head tilts to indicate an emotional resolution in modern family guy are examples of it. the arms are apparently hand drawn judging from some production thing someone showed once which i assume was from later in the show and not obviously early on even post-cancellation where it was obvious as hand drawn

Watched the 10 second clip at the start. It's definitely not bad (Wander Over Yonder is a good example of being expressive and flowy, especially as the series progressed) but you can still tell from the way things bob around. That's why it's baffling to me people look at the sneak trailer of KoTH's revival and don't recognize it's rigged and think it's exactly the same as the show always was. Even when rigged is good, you can tell just from the flow be it good or bad flow. KoTH's flow is fucking horrible, people should be able to fucking tell.

If I'm being as charitable as possible, the studios don't have the time to put into fine tuning the rigging to look more dynamic do to time obligations on completing shoes.
If I'm being realistic, studios take on too many projects while skimping on man power to maximize managerial profits and fishing for clout to use as negotiation material for future deals.

The problem is the structure of production financing being run by those same managerials. Whatever tension it may produce is not as worth it as a more encouraging tension not based around the bare minimum would be.

No, it's just some people going through the motions. See, Netflix needs a lot of content so they rely upon "known people" so that there's news articles about a new show from X. That makes people sign up. The people doing this ALSO know they're effectively scamming Netflix, and don't give them their A-material (which they save for a serious project) and instead go through the motions.
Disenchantment is boring slog and ass. The Futurama Fantasy episodes are fantastic and it should have just been that. Take the futurama cast, put them in a fantasy setting for 5 seasons.

Puppet rigs CAN look good, but in the case of something like Clone High 2023, the way it's done makes it so obvious that rigs were used as a cost-saving measure rather than any specific creative decision. It's just sad that nearly EVERY adult cartoon is pressured out of using hand-drawn animation.

I liked it, but it probably should've been shortened by a season or two. You can tell that they were running out of ideas to advance the story/characters by S04. There's some woke shit in it, though, so snowflakes easily offended should stay away.

Eh its fine. It starts okay, creeps up a bit, wavers, then collapses at the end of the last season. It cant decide if it wants to be tolkien, fairy tales or game of thrones, and never manages to blend them in a satisfying way. For me as a fantasy autist thats a dealbreaker
