Archie at least had more adventures on average, more frequent action scenes and Sonic Universe which were stories focused on the rest of the cast for arcs.

It's amazing how much sticking power the bland ass OCs from IDW have. Fans have begged Sega for years for characters like Sally, Bunnie, Sonia and Cosmo to be in games, only for them to finally have a chance. Yet the crappy furry lesbians got canonised and merch before actually beloved characters.
They have such boring outfits, like reboot Archie despite also going for a game focused style didn't have boring outfits.
