Black Rose becomes more of an existential threat for both, and is never directly involved. Ambessa and Mel have a cold war with each other as they vie for control of Piltover and Hextech, their manipulations causing events and consequences for themselves. First episode'10 minutes is her being a good happy go lucky demacian girl, making everyone around her smile with how sweet she is It then cuts to her being a crying mess in front of galio's statue(her safe place), to show the audience all we need to know about her, then you can show her family all pretending she is not a mage after she made a hole by accident with her magic powers
She meets with jinx briefly, but then they go separate ways
She must also meets ezreal(in his jarro lighfeather persona)
Then it follows the original comic's plot with sylas until his betrayal
Garen's plotline
Constantly coping telling himself everything in demacia is alright, mages are evil and his sister is NOT a mage
He meets katarina, it follows the plot of the scrapped movie, it also sets the tone for noxus imperialism in the next season with the whole noxus/ionia war
Jarvan's plotline

Poppy is also a given since demacia needs their own token character, but I can 't see how they can fit her with the other characters since her story is that she is searching for a hero
The ability to do the things and logic those writers used was so damn sensical, You have to do a LOT of brain work to make it all make sense, Im still stuck on the space time continuum, but they made it work, I hadn't played LoL in at least a decade, and i didnt care about the history till they made it a really good show.
You would have to get writers that know how all sectors used in the game work. i image its going to be expensive.
