Gifted smart kids are dropped off on an island for summer camp. But it's not really. There's a scientist lady doing something every episode with a dog man assistant. Also the island are mutants human/animal hybrids.
Comedy is pretty good, and the art is surprisingly nice for certain things.

If it looks ugly and obnoxious at first glance that's understandable, but trust me, it gets crazy funny in some episodes.
Do you really think any character besides Merian can carry a thread for this show? Pliny's the main character and she's not even that popular, and no shade to Sara fans but she ain't gonna cut it for the average anons. Francis probably is the next best choice but she's a somewhat polarizing creature.

That's where you're wrong anon. Pliny May seem like the main character, but this series is really built around each of the kids being a main character in their own way.

I haven't seen all the episodes. But the ketchup thing was the first time I felt she did it to be a dick and mot just her usual autistic self.

I was pleasantly surprised by StuGo. It's DTVA's funnies cartoon in years.
The comedic timing was pretty good and so was the voice talent.

You ask a good question. Personally I think Merian may have the best chance. But Francis does have her dedicated fans and while Bad Francis kind of turned me off from her, I still for the most part like her. The fan art made for the threads probably give a decent idea. It's not even that I dislike Pliny or anything. She's great. Just tough to call her my favorite when she's in the same show with the lanky awkward dork sweetheart.
My guess was that the kids were all around the twelve to fourteen range.
The joke of her painting like a printer was great.

she's hard to read. I think she just assumed she would get full before she put more than a dent in the supply, but relished in making everyone worry. like "they're gonna feel so dumb for overreacting when I stop eating this ketchup..."
yeah Pliny would be the best character in any show that wasn't about six turbo dorks on an island. It took people like Merian and Francis to overshadow her

I've only seen the Bad Francis episode once so it's a little fuzzy, but yeah, jeez. I still haven't actually processed how insane of an episode it is for her character. I get writers pushing a character's limits for comedy, and the set up of her getting super-focused on a game and treating it so seriously makes sense. But I remember feeling like it was way too much, even if it fit her character by the end
I'll have to rewatch that one again because it was definitely shocking. All the Francis episodes before were so endearing and honestly some of my favorites, like the Mailbog ep, the Plant Francis ep, and the Francis Alone ep. Bad Francis makes me think of Luan from TLH going extra insane on the April Fools episodes, pushing the bit a little too far
I don't get why people reacted the way they did
she KNEW she had this weakness, this compulsion, and she tried to stay away from it. It's basically just a sitcom farce, where the lack of communication was the problem. But Francis lacks the vocal energy to get five excited dorks to pay attention to her even if it is very important.. and Pliny's too nice but too clueless to pick up on stuff like this.
The only problem in my mind is it ended too quickly. Yeah the joke is that she won so she can finally stop, but....
i would have liked to see her do the closest she can do to breaking down crying, and quietly croak out 'why did you guys make me do that?' and then yknow, she assumes she's gonna be shunned now, and be alone for the rest of the summer. And yknow, the others console.. Sara probably suggests punishment as a way to restore the balance.
I don't know if that's really in line with the tone the show usually has. Everything just ending once the island comes back from being in black hole coffee makes sense for it. Sort of how like Lullah's game ended. Lullah expected her turning the kids against each other would break their friendship, especially after Pliny makes the final trick in the end, only for the kids to cheer for Pliny as she pulled off sick tricks on her five person bike all on her own.
