The Jurassic franchise keeps going down and getting rid of Pratt and the other actors from the immediately previous reboot trilogy will help some but isn't going to suddenly add a few hundred million, it won't also make a billion.

It's live action and it looks pretty bad. The Lilo funkos are already peg warming and they just came out. I was at three different GameStop in the past week since a friend of mine is flying in later this summer a John Williams concert and is a big fan of the donner verse movies, and I know he wouldn't buy the Superman the movie funkos for himself, but would appreciate them. In two stores, kids walked in with dads or families buying gaming systems or cartridges or whatever, and the kids begged for different toys, none of them wanted a Lilo.

It will probably make half a billion, up to 700mil if lucky. These movies are on the way out and I think Gunn's style isn't as universally loved as him or his fans make it out to be.
Only way it’d make a billion is if it’s somehow released in China, and they love it for some reason like Aquaman (and even then, 500 million in the Chinese box office is like 10% of that by the time it gets to the studio)
Man of Steel benefitted from:
a. ticket pre-sales a full year out on (admittedly incredible) Snyder trailers
b. the MCU igniting the genre
c. A complete review blackout all the way to it's opening weekend
So it got the sort of opening weekend a movie cruising to a billion would expect, then word-of-mouth put an end to that.

That's because contrary to popular belief Lilo herself is NOT a popular character in general. That's why she's replaced in all the multiple Stitch reboots with other Asian twats. The human token in a Non Human franchise is never popular. How popular is April from Ninja Turtles? She is not. How popular is Casey in Ninja Turtles? He is not. That's Lilo's situation. She is a human who is naturally outclassed by more entertaining and fantastical characters. So she has no fans and child molesters don't count.
And if we get serious Lilo is not a marketable character. She is a messed up character, she's a little girl who is TRAUMATIZED over the recent car crash that killed her mother and father. As such she acts out in bizarre ways not caring that she is causing problems for her sister who is combating the government from taking Lilo away to become a Ward of the State. Basically this is Lilo, she is not marketable because the essence of her character is dramatic in a real mentally messed up way. Lilo is ironically more alien like than the real alien characters of the franchise.
And that's why she's not popular. Lilo is a depressing character who is enduring mental issues. Not fun which again translates into Not Marketable.
