Black superheroes don't make sense because they would be pro-crime

Can you really say that, knowing the Black culture and attitude, they would use their powers to patrol and make civil arrests? And if they really did, wouldn't the Black community hate them and call them traitors or Uncle Toms? In the end, to truly make a Black superhero that feels real, he would have to be pro-crime. That's why whenever I play Spider-Man 2 and use Miles, I never respond to the crime calls, so I can immerse myself in the character.

so there shouldnt be any white villains?

White people don't have as strong a sense of community, and they aren't held to a level of excellence or standard. Also bad people can do whatever. It’s when you are suppose to be the “good guy” that things are expected of you. Like having the right opinion or doing the right thing.

that's a pretty racist title.

they stopped lumping manifold & gateway in with the nogs huh

You sound like you'd like the Black Bomber

I mean, at the end of the Netflix series, Luke Cage ends up becoming the crime boss. It felt very genuine to the character and the culture the show was trying to represent.

What's the point of having these threads man?

Phoenix Jones was doing alright though...until he realized he wasted his life on comic-book crap and started selling drugs.

Exactly

Say it to his face.

Really should say "my legacy hero is black."

Hilarious part is how slowly this thread is chugging, the traffic nuke after the 10-day hack was well deserved

By that logic, would all mexican super heros be cartel mules?

Thank God we're shifting from black worship in society

Mexicans hate crime. Their favorite Rambo is Last Blood.

I honest to god believe that a ton of people dropped off because they realized that they didn't really miss Anon Babble all that much during the 10-day hack and they realized that it was finally time to cut ties for good, because truthfully you're really not missing much these days.

blatant racism thread

Luke Cage is a show I thought had much better ideas than the writing deserved. Also Mahershala Ali was acting his ass off, and bushmaster was a fantastic anti Luke cage

I liked how cage didn’t really sit around whining about society and the cops and told everyone they need to start by looking after themselves and their neighbors

Even the ending (which clearly wasn’t planned to be the final ending, just a season finale) wasn’t quite him becoming a crime boss. From what I remember he was gonna basically be some self declared sheriff operating out of the club.

If there was a season 3 I can see him tolerating certain crimes and letting people use the club as a neutral place to negotiate peace. But he’s hardly going to become a legit crime boss. He isn’t trying to become red hood he just wants to make Harlem safer and that path is much simpler than trying to reform the entire system. Remove the ability for gangs to enforce “their turf” for selling drugs or pimping women for example, and drugs and prostitution may still happen but not in support of violent gangs
