I hated the interviewer here. Jhonen deserved better back in the day. Why not actually go into his mind and ask interesting things? It always had to be "hurr durr you're goth", and I hate it.

Zim feels like his ultimate shitpost, which was pretty awesome he got it made. Buuuut I want him to get back into his feefees and make more JTHM--or something new. Everyone wants to know what's brewing in that old geezer's head and he's been holding out on us for years. Probably due to a fear of failure and being lazy but every great has stinkers.

I don't think batshit fans have anything (or much) to do with your work output as a creative. What it does hinge on is if you are beholden to shitty executives, which he actually was during IZ for many years and didn't want to deal with the revolving door of executives and have a project pending for close to a decade. It's why he didn't do anything new with studios because the culture was bleak so he didn't want his work ruined, and fair enough all things considered. I call the man lazy but he does what he can with a good team he can pick, but can't seem to get it up independent. If he doesn't want to be chained to his desk all night and day he should hire an art assistant, it's not like he doesn't have the money to pay a talented overzealous fan(girl) who would do anything to please him. Wait what were we talking about again?
