Why the fuck did it get so bad at S3?

The creators realized they could just milk the story forever so they stopped putting in effort to do anything interesting.

It was before they switched the mood to grimdark.

S6 will probably be comfier, some early illustrations are a bit Solarpunk.

Because you said so.

In S12 they will probably get married.

I guess S14 is when the babies arrive, oh so many babies!

Because Astruc started losing his mind around this point.

"Everybody gets a Miraculous now (but not Chloe, because fuck her)! More is better, even if it makes a mess of everything!"

"Oh, you thought Mayura was gonna be badass? Nah, she's just a simp who literally wants to die for Gabriel."

"I don't want simplicity anymore. Let's make this show so convoluted and full of plot-threads that don't go anywhere that it'd make Greg Weisman envious."

The Sandboy just checked in

I thought he had less control of the franchise for a period, but came back later.
And Chloe must represent an enemy from school, and this is his opportunity to grind her down in effigy.

Will all the regulars return?

she's just a simp who literally wants to die for Gabriel

Didn't she ditch Gabriel when he went after the Miraculous instead of curing his wife? Both of them seemed out of character in that time travel episode.

will Chloéfags still be seething in S10 after 15 years?

Je ne sais pas

10 fucking years

still alive

no reboots like Ben 10

actual overarching plot line

this is only possible because the Netflix model allows young children to very easily watch old episodes

Of course, that is the idea.
Presumably she will die gruesomely in the last episode, at which point everyone lives happily ever after.

>still alive

The merchandising machine is raking in big money, this will roll on for years and years.

>no reboots like Ben 10

I thought endless reboots was a US thing among incompetent editors. Was Valerian or Tintin ever rebooted?

Valerian

hate to say it but Valérian is actually kinda niche. definitely not on the same tier as Tintin. and no.

Tintin

wrong example since Hergé turbolocked his own IP to be 200% sure it would never ever got rebooted.

but yes, we usually don't do reboots, we prefer sequels. see Totally Spies for example.

Niche, in what way? Tintin also had a few science fiction adjacent stories.

I thought there was one story made after he died, by other writers.

no, there is an unfinished story which was published unfinished. Tintin is very well known for being THE turbolocked IP nobody can revive, with a gold-casted definitive canon.

Outside of the messy finale, it didn't. The show got better in season four. Still rocky, but better and that continued into season five. Good enough that they really didn't need to continue the show anymore. But this is the only show Zagtoons has done that anyone cared about so they're going to keep it around for as long as possible.

Gabriel's reason made sense. He knew Ladybug and Cat Noir still had a Rabbit Miraculous and could and were going back in time to stop him during the season two finale. Even if he dropped his warning back there there's no telling if Ladybug's meddling would ruin it all. He should have left the warning behind and then tried to keep her from ruining him in the past, but hindsight and all that. It's Nathalie that didn't really make sense. There's no way she should have been able to know what happened there. All she knows is that Gabriel failed to warn his past self. She's seen the kind of stupid miracle wins Ladybug has pulled off so there's no reason she'd think Ladybug didn't just stop Gabriel before he had a chance to give his warning. Her turning on him made no sense unless she was watching what was happening like the audience was. Which she clearly wasn't.

I dipped out of this show halfway through season 2 and I'm thinking that might have been a wise move

Depends on what you liked about the show. Personally, it started focusing more and more on the part of the show I actually liked so I enjoyed it.

I loved S2 Gabriel so damn much, particularly in Gorizilla. It was so adorable how he would protect his son even at the cost of not getting the Miraculous. S2 Hawk Moth also had some comic relief moments that made him more likeable as a villain. I remember the times when we were lead to believe that "Le Paon" was going to be his boss... But instead he became a piece of shit who doesn't care about Adrien anymore, without any proper reason to have changed so drastically, much like what happened to S2 Chloe. The movie was boring but at least they knew Gabriel shouldn't be a trash dad. F*** Miraculous, long live S2 Gabriel and Chloe.

This show is still going?

yes, and it will continue for at least 5 more years.

Fair enough, but, that's Gabriel coming right after get all the Miraculous (sans the main ones) thanks to Felix fool LB. He was too focused about not lose again that he ignored a fair advice that could avert a lot of things.

Did Nathalie know? No. Could he finally finish his mission by simply tipping his old self about how to fix the defective miraculous before Emelie use it? Probably.

I just understood that as present Gabriel being too self-centered (newsflash) to accept an easy win.

Gabriel was a manageable human being by the first three seasons, but, from fourth and fifth, he's despicable.

Movie Gabriel at least regretted himself.

Damn the comic looks really cool

turbolocked his own IP to be 200% sure it would never ever got rebooted.

How is that even possible?

I’m so surprised there’s so little ladybug ryona

Stagnation at its tedious "will they, wont they? Romcom drama for little girls instead of being a Kamen Rider mahou shojo (No. Not precure)

Gabriel was a manageable human being by the first three seasons

He was already slipping into madness by Season 3. By S4, he was in freefall.

Just watch the movie desu, lot better then most of the show if you don't mind musical moments

My favorite Gabriel episodes are Gigantitan (S2 E6) Simpleman (S4 E19) and Intuition (S5 E15)

Akumatizes baby to steal miracuous'

Gets hit with his own Akuatization after Amumatizing Marinette's grandfather

Does the same thing over and over again, and expects different results

his is classic goofball villainy at it's best.

Considering this is one of the few modern cartoons actually watched by children, I expect an edgy reboot in 10 or 15 years made by kids who started watching Ladybug in the second half of the 10s

If you're into this show for the romantic drama then I think you're going to be in for a bad time. Thank Christ that's not a part I gave a shit about because god damn I can't imagine how unsatisfying five seasons of nothing until now would feel like.
