Fixing Spider-Man comics (ASM)

I want to get your oppinion on my idea of how I would fix ASM comics if I was the writer. It would be 12 issues to fix and the rest would be a normal run.

Please give what you think I could do better and stay respectfull

This is the first Issue and I will give the second issue another day (hopefully tomorrow), I cannot even write both of these issues without passing the characters limits on Anon Babble

The first issue would be called: Peter Parker no more, and it would start with aunth may getting murdered by an unknown shooter and Peter being devastated. We would see her funeral where people close to Peter (like Harry osborn, Flash tompson and MJ (There is more but they are the most importants but Paul isn’t even here)) and as each of them give their condolence to Peter, he just ignore them. We then would have a time skip of a few months and we would see a Peter that just is Spider-Man all day long and that isolated himself from everyone. Spider-Man would still be goofy but he would be a bit more brutal and more effective. We then would see Peter being confronted by the Human torch that would just see of he is fine and Peter will act fine but he would later take off his mask and we would see him crying. The issue would then cut to mysterio having an argument with someone about how they went too far with making Peter’s life miserable (the argument would reveal that they are behind OMD, superior Spider-Man, Jackpot and a bunch of other shit story that happened after OMD) we then would see that the man mysterio is talking to is Paul

If you have questions or things that I could improve please say it and I will try to answer the questions (I am sorry if I miss your question) and I will take note of the commentary and try to include them in future issues or remembering it to make them in this issue if I ever get to write an ASM run

It would be 12 issues to fix

That's already too many.

Just be grateful for Hickman's Ultimate.

12 issues set 10 years into the future, Peter is retiring, all the other 30 Spidey legacy heroes die in a tragic fire, The End.

I am asking for constructive critisism, not for just shitting on what I think would fix ASM comics, it’s just the first issue, I already have a lot more of other issues (not exactly 12 but 12 is a safe number)

I am very grateful for it, in fact it is the only thing stopping me from being depressed right now

It’s just a safe number, maybe it would be less, I have a big plot for the first 3 and the last 3 but I am trying to think for the in between

just retcon everything bro

mysterio bro, my all fix get out of jai lcard

let's shit on paul bro, that will fix things

thank God you'll never be hired by Marvel, I mean there are some absolute retards working there but you certainly aren't too far from them

That is just the first issue, it’s meant to introduce a lot of things that will be important later on, the next issues stories will be more clear and also I am just sharing a rough summary of the story, but I intead to make things work and show more of what is going in inside the heads of the characters and give them dialogue that show the state they are in. I am trying to make this a thing about how Peter is at his lowest and he slowly get back up to his highest.

It turns out MJ has been a skrull since before Paul was introduced. He goes to outerspace to save her.

I am trying to make a story away from all of the cosmic and magic stuff so I am not planning to do that but thanks for the suggestion

Undo OMD
Peter and Mary Jane are married and have a daughter who grew up in Limbo
But Peter’s secret identity is public again and the world is pissed off at Peter for messing with their memories.
Peter Parker is public number one enemy to the general public.
JJJ forgives Peter but Robbie Robertson is pissed and becomes Peter’s new JJJ.

the last decade and a half of spider-man has been so shit that retconning it is the right choice. I propose a multiverse event (since they love those so much) where Peter and his pal Wolverine get sent to the real world and defeat the gods (marvel editorial staff) in order to set things right.

Undoing OMD is the goal (I just need to manage to become I spider-Man writer)

I would retcon but using mysterio and not multiverse becquet I feel like multiverse is overused

>just retcon everything bro

That's what Marvel did with OMD. Why shouldn't anon follow suit?

Please give what you think I could do better and stay respectful

Act like the last 12 years (save for Kaine Scarlet Spider and Agent Venom) never happened. Keep him isolated and make no mention or appearance of his brand parasites. Focus only on Peter and his humanity and his maturity and capability as Spider-Man, the ONLY Spider-Man until Miguel comes along after he is long dead, and have Peter live up to his many descriptors during the run. Amazing, Sensational, Spectacular, etc.

Let him win his fights mano y mano. Not just eek out a slight victory, not just having a cheap gadget like a budget Batman. Don't have him be a skinny twink college sophmore, make him look like a grown man. Focus on his love for his family and family in general, how they are why he does what he does. Not altruism, not guilt (anymore), but how he's matured to the point he doesn't want others to lose their loved ones. Especially due to their own bad and selfish choices, like he did. Have him characterized like pic related.

Have him guide and inspire those who know him and be a contemporary, a colleague instead of a somewhat tolerated nuisance on the fringe of the wider community. Let his long and storied history and reputation precede him and have him reflect and live up to that.

And for fuck's sake, give us a mini arc with him, Kaine, and Flash circa the 2012 time and keep Ben dead. Both Ben Parker and Ben Reilly, just keep them dead.

Why is Paul the villain? It's already been established by Nick Spencer that Mephisto orchestrated or took advantage of the events from One More Day to erase Peter and MJ's daughter from existence because she foiled his big plans to take over the world in the future.

This already makes no sense. Making Paul the villain is just something the MJ/Peter folks purists want to see happen because their precious redhead was "violated" and ended up having two kids with him.

My suggestion ditch the Paul is the villain/mastermind angle. It's low hanging fruit and really serves no purpose. This will confuse the readers of ASM especially since there has been nothing established to show Paul as being villainous or having beef with Peter.

Not altruism

That is, not as though Peter is a bleeding heart saint born again on Earth. He isn't. He's a New Yorker who lost his parents, grew up poor with old people who were ten steps from death before he hit his teens, and who would have dropped out to work before graduating for them and was willing to rob a bank if not for knowing they would disapprove.

The first issue would be called: Peter Parker no more

Wrong title for the first issue, the "X no more" title has been done to death at this point anyway.

and it would start with aunth may getting murdered by an unknown shooter and Peter being devastated

People rightly hate One More Day for not having the balls to kill Aunt May, but that doesn't mean whacking her off in the first issue of your run is an automatic fix.

We then would have a time skip of a few months and we would see a Peter that just is Spider-Man all day long and that isolated himself from everyone.

This is how hacks write Batman, and definitely not what people come to Spider-Man for. In your scenario I feel like Peter would give up being Spider-Man forever, and leave New York to start fresh somewhere else (and I'm 80% sure that's been done in 616 before too, if not an alternate universe).

We then would see Peter being confronted by the Human torch that would just see of he is fine and Peter will act fine but he would later take off his mask and we would see him crying.

Kek, what a bitch.

I haven't bothered with 616 in years, and your outline would absolutely not get me back in. I don't give a shit about the current continuity, or undoing OMD, I just want cool stories with good art and a fun vibe. If you want to actually fix 616 Spider-Man (like that'd ever happen) you really just need to get a good dynamic artist, pick some classic villains to get cool new rematches, make some cool new ones, and get back to the classic-but-modern optimistic feeling Spidey-media had in the 90s and early 2000s.

I can back this.

If this is the same OP from previous Boycott Spider-Man threads. For some odd reason they have a serious hard-on for wanting to make Spider-Man "street-level" and keeping him there. Not sure why but that's just bad writing in my books.

I'd probably call the first issue "Welcome to the Neighborhood"

Go with Norman Osborn.

If you're going to piggyback off of Nick Spencer's stuff. It's been established that Norman made a deal with Mephisto, why couldn't he have made another one.

When Norman died the first time lets say he went to Hell and Mephisto was ready to shove red-hot rocks up Norman's ass.

However, Norman being the opportunist makes a pitch. What if Norman turned Mephisto's attention to Peter and MJ's love for one another. What if he told Mephisto that he could help him destroy true love. Mephisto is intrigued and decides to give Norman a second chance at life.

Maybe say he had a secret meeting with Kingpin and egged him on and convinced him to hire the assassin that shoot Aunt May.

I'd probably call the first issue "Welcome to the Neighborhood"

If it's OP's first issue, let's go all the way with it. Aunt May get's brutally headshotted in the opening pages while walking down the street with Peter, blood spraying everywhere and her eyes rolling into the back of her head on our opening splash page: "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood"

Peter Parker no more

If we're talking OMD/Mephisto stuff being addressed, I'd say Mephisto made a deal with Paul for happiness. Mephisto gets Paul's soul, keeps the Parkers apart, and fucks over Wayeb in the process (because they've met before, and Mephisto disliked the deity).

Also if we're really going to tackle the issue, have both Doctor Strange AND Johnny Blaze help Spider-Man. I mean full on spirit of vengeance leaping out of Johnny to possess Peter because of the injustice, which in turn Peter asks Zarathros to go back to Johnny for virtuous reasons. We'd still get a Spider-Rider moment, but not rob Peter of the victory

Heroes Reborn him. To save his life for contrived reasons, Franklin merges Peter with a teenage version of him. The new reset Peter has vague memories of both but is free and clear. the old Peter is as dead as the old Tony and the old old Tony.

That would be at issue 13 and more the Batman style is just for the first 12 issues

I didn’t know it has already been done in 616

Killing aunth may is the reason for the isolation of Peter (I needed one) and we would see in the following issues Peter come out of his isolation, please wait until I can tell the whole story to critisize

Killing Aunt May was the reason we got into this mess in the first place.

Sometime using the reason will give us the solution (for this hypotetical run to work someone close to Peter need to die)

By the way, I will keep everything next to myself since everyone keep saying it’s shit after one rough idea of a first issue

That wasn't even the first time Aunt May died

I know

There is no fixing this shit, just fire Brevoort and Lowe and reboot everything. ASM has been shit for so long that the only option left is to erase everything and start again.

Not sure if this is the same OP I responded to before, but I'm reposting my idea anyway with some tweaks.
I'd do a hat trick as when OMD is undone it resets Peter's part of the 616 through use of the spider totems who are only connected to Peter. Thus, it doesn't affect any of the rest of the 616. It would also mean Miles and Gwen are banished to their universes and Aunt May gives a final farewell. Maybe I'd have soul of pre-OMD Peter suddenly start influencing post-OMD Peter through spiders and totems who point him back towards Strange who then consults the Living Tribunal to figure out how Mephisto unjustly influenced Peter's life by forcing him to act OOC and make the OMD deal in order to prevent Mayday from existing as that's why Mephisto did it according to Spencer's final issue. The Tribunal is involved due to magic and the fact Mephisto's reality warping has altered reailty to the point that the forces of love and hate are out of wack and are causing problems due to this small ripple that has just now built up to where it now is causing insanity throughout the universe. This was accelerated and became a problem when he made more deals. This would also include his deal with Norman and Otto who now have their deals undone due to being influenced by the overall undoing of OMD and Norman's deal would be retconned to include kidnapping Mayday during the clone saga. Then once it's undone, pre-OMD Peter would now be in the 616 of Spider-Man we all knew and loved and immediately with baby Mayday. A later issue depicts Peter reconciling his pre and post OMD memories until most of it is pre-OMD and a flashback shows in the hospital scene where MJ has the "miscarry" Mayday lives. After these issues are done they'd end with a renumbering all the way back to 546 where the new status quo takes hold and Slott forever has to suck fucking shit for having his whole entire run invalidated and decalred utter slop that is lost to the sands of time as a bad memory.

This would be a small arc that would then lead to redo arcs that are abridged versions of select stories from the 2010's as Peter's vague memories from Post-OMD allow him to pre-empt some of those events like where Flash becomes Agent Venom and Eddie is Anti-Venom and Spider-Island happens except maybe Kaine and Anti-Venom manage to confine it to only a part of Manhattan or a different location in the U.S. like a small town, Superior happens but it only lasts 1 or 2 issues before everybody recognizes it's not Peter and Peter influences his body much more easily and in the mind-scape, and Spider-Verse is instead a celebration of the character and fun stuff happens with either a new villain or a Doc Ock who is assembling a multi-versal Sinister team.
It also has Morlun and Shathra revert back to their original versions of being threatening villains with little backstory as well as Silk being revealed as a Jorogumo (I think that's what it's called), a spider-monster that lied about her origin being tied to Peter's. Finally, Harry would still be dead and the Sins Past retcon would be explained as the Harry A.I. glitching out and spouting nonsense. Personally I'd reveal that Kindred would be a combo of Peter and Harry's soul that were taken by Mephisto kinda like Onslaught being a combo of Prof X and Magneto and a final battle with Kindred would be the climactic undoing of OMD as Mephisto seethes in the background and Kindred smiles in relief as he disintegrates. Mephisto gets his shit rocked when Mayday comes of age. I am still torn on if I would want Ben to come back though, as it is kino of him to be dead but Janine really needs somebody to be with her and I think it's kinda too bleak for her to not be with him. Kaine gets Annabelle though. Peter having Mayday first to raise and then Ben and Anna as twins would be optimal. Also since OMD is undone, Peter is able to become a teacher again after using Dr. Strange's help to erase memories. Blogpost over.

Marywhore dies but not before giving birth to Paul's child.
The child is her reincarnation and Paul will raise her.
That's the end of her story.

What a strange fetish you have.

her whoriness cannot be stopped anymore not even by death

PETAH! DID YOU SACRIFICE OUR MARRIAGE TO SAVE THAT OLD HAG AGAIN!?

Aw crap, this is worse than that time I found out my ex girlfriend was cheating on me with Norman Osborne!

I want to get your oppinion on my idea of how I would fix ASM comics if I was the writer.

get nick lowe, slott away from anything spider-related and anyone that wants to prevent that
