Are we finally done with the panic attack trend in every single animated movie?

Are we finally done with the panic attack trend in every single animated movie?

You gonna have a panic attack next time you see one?

Nope, theatre kids dig that shit

Was it even a trend? I only saw it TLW, and a passing mention in Ruby Gillman.

No. The writers need to insert their own mental disorders into the children's movie because just because ok they've earned it. It makes it feel more adult so they don't feel immature.

It's sad because now we'll never be able to have a scene of a character having a mental breakdown without retards bringing this shit up

This movie was meh, 3.5/10

every single animated movie

Name 67

OP pretends there is a problem, so he could complain

again

It wasn’t a trend. Animation twitter just blew it out of proportion because they’re so annoying about Puss in Boots

It'll probably continue but not because of this movie, but the mentality that stuff like Steven Universe propogated. Shit like the Connie episode where she's all stressed out and having a breakdown because she attacked some innocent boy and broke his arm and we're supposed to feel bad for her and muh PTSD. I bought a 4K TV to watch russians slide down roofs and break their backs.

I hope so. The puss one's the only one they got right in terms of accuracy. Makes me wanna actually like puss and not simp for furry death for all of eternity

Inside Out 2 is entirely based around a prolonged panic attack driven by Anxiety.

Why do you want to watch characters have mental breakdowns?

Was there that many? I recall like TWO. Which I'll grant you is weird it happened twice but it's not a lot.

Because back in the day "character having a mental breakdown" was synonymous with funny instead of preachy

Seeing characters have panic attacks arrouses me.

I am a pretty ugly guy and always struggled with my self-image because of it. As I entered high school I got bullied a lot because of it and guys would often call me the "Ogre". It got worse when I started to stress eat and got really fat as a result. One day though a teacher told me to hand a bag a girl had left in class back to her as they knew I would be going to their same class before recess. I can't remember all of the details, but she was reading something in a hallway alcove and as I approached she noticed me and shrunk away to her back against the wall. Before I could hand the bag to her she had slumped down and was breathing rapidly and looked like she was dying. It turned into a big thing and people accused me of harrasing her or assaulting her when in reality she had just had a panic attack because I spooked her. Afterwards though the scene of her slumped and struggling to breathe really struck a nerve somewhere in my mind and when I saw movies or shows with characters undergoing panic attacks I would get really flustered. Eventually I would just pause onto frames of their faces and imagine I was the one they were terrified of rub one out. I know it's pretty fucked but I feel like it has helped me some what feel more comfortable with my appearance knowing I can illicit that kind of response out of people. My body has the power to compel people to arrouse me, even if non-consensually. I haven't really been able to form relationships to say the least, but a part of me wants to relive that day in highschool. When I went out with my cousins to watch The Last Witch on the big screen it was absolute torture trying to keep it together in front of family. How they captured the shallow and stimulated breaths along with the alluringly horrified dilation of Puss's pupils was just pure sex and the idea that it was perhaps animated out of personal experience only makes hotter.

I hate phoneposting

Based IRL Fat Ugly Bastard.

you typed out all that shit on a phone and waited 900 seconds to post it

Slow shift at work, lurking passes the time. But after seeing OP's pic I am all edgy now. Thought posting would get it out of my system but I think I will have to retreat to the bathroom soon.

Kids these days don't want panic attacks in movies. They want Skibidi Toilet vs Shin Sonic vs MrBeast vs Poppy Playtime vs Hazbin Hotel.

I don't watch those.
I did try watching Flow for free in those pixelated low quality video from my phone in bilibili site.
I like those. Not necessarily a panic attack, but the animal in distress is so on point, it tugs my heart.
Need more of those.

Wanting heroes to have panic attacks because it's relatable<wanting villains to have panic attacks because it's cathartic.

Get help, man

Isn't it just a fucking heart attack?

Like this anon said I believe it's more that xitter is just hyperfocused on depictions of panic attacks and mental health in general because muh relatabluh. Not sure it ever became a 'trend', whenever I've seen it in media I consume it felt, at least to me, like a natural part of the plot/character arc. Though no doubt there are many cases where a hack writer shoves a mental breakdown scene in a story as a substitute for character growth. I haven't watched Steven Universe but this sounds like one such case, where a mental breakdown is used as cheap way to garner sympathy for a character.
Happens with anything really, people glazing one specific element of a cartoon/comic/video game etc, regardless if it's actually implemented well. omg the LORE omg the WORLD BUILDING omg the REALISM

What I wan't to finally go away are the pointless, on the nose anime references. Like fuck nigga I get it you watched Sailor Moon as a kid, so did millions more no one gives a shit.

No, but heart attacks have symptons that can appear like panic attacks intially.

I hate Animation Twitter

Ah yes, the "trend" that happened in exactly two movies. Just like that "trope" of turning black characters into animals, which also happened in exactly two movies.

Yes

Implying we actually hate virgin.

started withbiron man 2. a lot of media hubbub about how

huur super heros couldnt be real because theyd all have ptsd

then it spread all across animation and everything else.

I remember when one of you retards said "there are only 3 brown girl shows, it's not a thing"

yeah and youll blame the people who point it out instead of the people doing it too.

Hello Chris.

ooooh thats a good angle to this.
the cathartic moment where the smug villain realizes theyre fucked and all of their shits over is often missing now.
its all fue to the inversion of values. villains and heros were based on certain types of people. then the type of person whose a villain took over the industry and started casting themselves as the heros.

when characters have moments of extreme stress and fear after a life or death situation

This scene was gayer than alucard taking in the ass

no. prolonged scenes of whining and heart beats and sweat drops with camera shakes and motion blur.
everyones forgetting the whole plot of iron man 2, and from then on mcu Tony's character was based on anxiety and panic attacks.

The 2010s and early 2020s are gonna go down as the era of bitches. Like pronouns and panic attacks in cartoons? And it was all forced by millennial women to gaslight guys into being submissive. Well that failed. Now we're back to being normal now.
