nice pussy

crude and uncultured but you're not wrong. he had a good eye for the hip/groin area.

maybe so but these are both pretty boring despite his being technically sound

boring

you have no appreciation for subtleties

Brazilian and Mexican artists always do, they value the human body more than western artists who shade everything out of existence. Just a sign of the times, all comic art is garbage nowadays.

subtleties

Such as? Again it's super tight, well drawn, nice shading, but style is the quirks or personal flourishes that make it become something more.

So what youre trying not to say is if it was uglier you would like it more but you cant find enough specific things to dislike about it

Such as?

the lines and implied forms of the female hips is where he excelled. he's like the inverse frank cho - supple and understated.

Yeah, that looks alright.

he ed piskord himself

is not being an asshole so much effort that you don't even try anymore

Looks very deviantart

How so

Fuck you, faggot.
RIP Ed and Al.

fr

RIP, did great work on Gen13 and DV8

He was a great J. Scott Campbell imitator that also did porn. It's a shame he committed suicide. His art was used as pinups in Jungle Fantasy comics several years after he died, the same ones used multiple times.

He was far better than Campbell.

The coloring.

dumb coombrain

they value the human body more than western artists who shade everything out of existence

They make all their characters look like sameface bimbos.

see

the lines and implied forms

appreciation for human beauty doesnt make a person whatever you mean by that idiotic nonsense word

He pissed himself?

delicious pits mmmm yes!!

Al Rio, Ed Benes, I miss this era of comic art

This "house style" people describe art like this as is among the hardest styles to pull off.
I get if you think it's boring or bland, but if you're an artist try making work like this from scratch. Deceptively hard even though its "realism" and thus theoretically easy to have reference as a guiding light, penciled or inked lines with this clarity leave little room for margin of error.
When you do something really right, very often it looks easy-or like you did nothing special at all.
I think that about Curt Swan alot too. Maybe not the most exciting art, but every perspective line every hand, every line is correct and precise. And he was drawing Superman for like 30 years straight, month in and month out.

What the hell. I had no idea. Damn shame.

reminds me of the golden age disney animators, who honed their skills to perfection and made it seem like the most natural looking stuff in the world. theres this one shot of a wooden duck bobbing in the water animated by i forget who, and it is just flawless. turning forms in perspective like that is a real achievement

Me either. Shame we lose so many talented artists.

love ed benes' art. does he only do pinups nowadays?

somebody storytimed a benes comic yesterday btw

He turned down DC work like 5 years ago to work in a personal project we’ve yet to see

he also doesnt fullfill his crowdfunded comics. I have been waiting 5 years for my titty book. fuck benes

ah, that sucks.

It is a shame that he only put out one issue of Nina and Ariel.
