The concept of 'respectful deaths' has nothing to do with painful deaths. When people say shit like that they refer to just writing the characters more faithfully. A character like Superman isn't going to treat Goku coldly or cruelly even if their fight ends in him killing him and Goku isn't going to hold anything against him over it. Comparatively villains like Reverse-Flash mocking and brutally killing Black is completely fitting.
To put it another way, a lot of people basically just don't like seeing shit like Spider-Man callously killing Batman in a gory and explosive manner and then swinging off with zero care in the world. The characters just don't act that way in the original story. And that's solved by just not having character writing in the first place but DB clearly likes to incorporate writing into their fights to make it like actual fanfiction that feels more 'real' as a crossover.

The problem isn't Doomguy being gory or killing a human, it was just way too over the top. Doom kills are gory but it's not incredibly prolonged like that. They're snappy and to the point. A normal glory kill would've ended at the neck snap. Shit like chopping off his arms, stabbing him, blowing him up, and then sticking his head on the blade was just needless.
You do know Hal and by association Kyle tops this. Hell qouras got a list of employment, and my personal favorite is when he bends reality and infinite layered existence to hold back all the multiverses villains at once

This is John hitting the size limitation. I don't think any ring ever absorbed more energy than it could contain, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Guardian rings have a lot of limitations because they like to keep their soldiers on short leashes. These hardly ever come up in vs battles because the lanterns used are either Hal (who can just jailbreak his ring when he wants to) or various supermodes that bypass Guardian restrictions or didn't have them to begin with. I don't think Kyle's ring was made by the Guardians so it shouldn't have these limits.
The limitations are:
24 hours
Pre-crisis, the rule was that rings could do anything, as much as you wanted, but after 24 hours the power gets cut off. Lanterns were less power reservoirs and more sign-in features to keep tabs on corpsmen.
Construct decay
Tying into the above, constructs evaporate after 24 hours. This is actually what set Hal over the edge during Emerald Twilight. He remade Coast City, but it vanished after 24 hours because of stupid Guardian rules.
Size limitation
Mentioned here and there. Morrison had the Guardians specifically lift this restriction on Hal's Abin ring so he could do pool shots with planets.
No killing
Removed during the Sinestro Corp war.

Emergency charge
All but forgotten post-Crisis. The Guardians force the rings to keep a set amount of power in reserve to protect the life of the wielder. What this meant was that Hal could get his ass beat because he forgot to put his shield up but he could never die. Was very powerful, to the point Krona admitted he would have to kill the entire universe just to get through Hal's emergency charge. In his first ever case of breaking Guardian rules, Hal once willed the emergency charge out to recharge his ring.
Charge limitation
I think Johns introduced this one. It's the percentage counter that always pops up. Dumb when lanterns can just summon their lanterns.
