fave DCAU show, watched the whole thing and not a bad episode to note. Why i'm a big fan of Plastic man, Metamorpho, Blue Beetle and the many villains it utilised.

Silver Age Shenanigans: The Series. All the janky fun of the old days without the Comics Code breathing down their necks.
For the most part, it's more like Batman And Friends, with actual Batman characters and even Gotham itself generally taking a backseat while various other heroes and villains, both known and obscure, get spotlighted. And believe me, shit gets REALLY obscure sometimes.
Batman himself is generally not a broody dark fella like typically expected, and he often gets into situations that he really shouldn't be anywhere near in order to justify the story.
The cold opens are great, basically being mini-episodes showing some quick encounter in a situation that doesn't need to be given context. Why is Batman in WW2 alongside Sergeant Rock and G.I. Robot? Who fucking cares!
And while it's generally comedic in nature, the show is absolutely capable of taking itself deadly seriously, sometimes in ways that can only make you sit back and go "...Shit, dude."

It's good fun, really. The Bat-Mite episodes bring the meta in a good way, so watch out for those.

this and mystery inc came out at about the same time and i loved them both but i feel like cartoon network just dumped them in blocks during weekday afternoons and then totally forgot about them

Underrated DC show due to people comparing it to Batman TAS back in the day. My favorite version of Red Hood, as well as a good elseworld of Damian Wayne.

In terms of pure enjoyment I liked watching it more than BTAS and several other DCAU shows besides maybe JLU. It's the best animated depiction of mid 20th century DC that will ever happen.

First real batman and by extension capeshit media i got really into. Peak fiction all the way thru and i wish they made animation half as good these days. Aquamans based in this; one of the best joker depictions in it, and bat-mite best character

Dumbed down Batman for elementary school students and people with fragile egos.

Also, the animation and action scenes have a consistent sleekness to them that I don't really remember other DC animated shows besides STAS keeping up with in consistency

REEEEEEE WHY ISNT THIS SOMETING IN DA WAY BATMAN

I love brooding batman but come on nigga

Outside the batdickriding the show was very fun

THE MUSIC MEEEEIIIISSSTER.

~Put down your gun, my frieeeends~

It was groovy
Diedrich Bader was fantastic and remains one of my favorite VAs for Batsy

"I'm sorry, lady, but the hammer of justice is unissex"

Pretty good delivery always.

The way both BatB and Mystery Inc. were treated for scheduling might've been part of the fallout of the conflicts and differently aligned motives speculated to have been happening between CN and WB Animation around that time

the only fragile ego i'm seeing is yours

I had heard that episode was good, but I never expected its music to be genuinely GREAT.

It's weird that this show really took off and became a fan favorite but Legion of Super Heroes, who was made by most of the same team and had the same character designs, faded into obscurity.

Has the best version of red hood

Well this show released in 08 and mystery inc was 2010 but yeah they were kinda pushed in with the scraps while like regular show adventure time gumball and even the looney tunes show and mad got the good slots

It's not a DCAU show

The show said it itself: A love letter to silver age comics.

It had a good run.

A great run.

yeah my bad since that's specifically the acronym for the bruce timm stuff, I dunno just when type out DC and it's a cartoon you also wanna put the AU after lol. If I was a smart ass I'd say it's in a DC animated Universe but that was genuinely a fuckup my end.

It was incredibly refreshing to get a Joker that wasn't full psychotic, just an insane, pranks-obsessed gangster.

It also can't be said enough how fantastic the voice talent was in this. Diedrich Bader and Jeff Bennett would've made a fine duo for the main Batman and Joker voices going forward. It's a shame he wasn't picked for Caped Crusader.

Tibetan Monks neg diff the DC universe

It was Fun

I loved it.

Peak superhero cartoon. Along with DCAU it's the type of superhero media I like the most. Not overly childish but not grimdark super serious either. Superheroes should be fun, not a parody (MCU).

Don't forget they made Jeffrey Combs come back as Question for the Scooby Doo crossover movie.
This entire movie was fantastic.

The showrunner for Mystery Inc. (and later Beware the Batman) confirmed there was a lot of petty in-fighting between WB studios and CN. Mystery Inc's premiere episode had higher ratings than Adventure Time's around the same time and CN got butthurt about it and punished MI.

I've been rewatching it and still enjoy it a lot. I really admire how little time they take to explain anything super weird or obscure. Makes me feel like superhero movies/shows have regressed in trusting an audience to go along for the ride.

I felt sorry for Aquaman. He just wanted to be included with the rest of the group but they didn't want to hang out with him because he wasn't a detective.

BatB Aquaman pretty much never failed to make me smile honestly. I miss the time when action animation on television looked like it could gain a more promising future
I missed that update or I forgot about it. Sad that things had to be that way when animation is already difficult enough to get rolling and produced to a full show

Excellent show.

Aquaman especially is great.

last good batman ever.

I didn't respect it most of the time because of how campy it intended to be. But then they showed Chill of the Night and now I wish it wasnt canceled

Wish it had more Jonah Hex...

Be glad he was in it in the first place.

Legion was on kids WB so less people saw it.

It doesn't help that there were licensing issues with WB and now it's hard to find anywhere unless you buy the DVDs. At least if it was streaming somewhere, more people would be aware of it.
