State of DC

What do we think of DC, Anon Babble?

Give me more batman

Every bit as bad as it has been since April of 2018.

2016-2018 was an aberration compared to the 5 years before and the 7 years after.

Bring back straight kid Jon kent nobody wants any of this other dogshit. Fire every and anybody that has ever so much as tweeted about an election. No more pride specials.

The only comic worth buying from them is dark patterns.

Best its been in a long time

Awful

Not a single good comic right now from them (or Marvel).

The face of squandered potential.

I don't care, I just read old stuff.

I can see them being sold off by WB in the near future, especially when Gunn's Superman inevitably flops.

shit

It's doing very well right now.
The Absolute line is fun and novel, I've also been liking some of the All-In stuff like Aqua Man and Zatanna.
Superman and Batman are pretty consistent.

This is just on the comics side of things.
Outside of those DC is doing really well with cartoons, some great shows right now, more interesting ones coming down the pipeline.
The new James Gunn film looks good to me. I'm a bit concerned the humor won't land, it hasn't really done so in the trailers so far, but the rest seems alright. I'm excited to see a real DC universe on the big screen with all of its outlandish silliness, sci-fi bullshit, and light-hearted nature.

Please God, let WB sell DC to some studio without a terrible, less-than-worthless video game studio.
I want some actually good DC games.

Its content is fowl and lifeless. It's just another propaganda machine contributing to the current mainstream narrative.

ngl the DC logo on the img looks much more suited for those varying screen sizes than the one they're currently using:

Fuck off with your politics, I'm here to read comics.
I don't care if Absolute Martian Manhunter, a great book, is very sympathetic to Syrian refugees and the Islamic religion.

Admittedly I think Absolute Superman kinda sucks, in no small part do to its politics being preachy. But that's an issue of implementation, not the politics themselves.

It has a massive hurdle to be jumped in regards to essentially rebooting a cinematic universe 8 years after everyone was sick of cinematic universes, it gives an inherently soulless feeling

Your funeral pal and judging by how far you're willing to defend this crappy company you're not just here for comics, you're here for politics.

Ewing's Metamorpho is great and it's a tragedy that no one is reading it.

The New 52 era was better than current DC Comics

Every bit as bad as it has been since April of 2018.

The only comic worth buying from them is dark patterns.

no

Absolute is an interesting concept. MM and WW are the best of the bunch.

Mainline is in good shape. Been steadily improving since Dawn of DC with more good books becoming more frequent.

Its not the 90s high watermark but at least it no longer feels cynical and mean-spirited like the Didio era. It's doing its best to embrace all of its complicated history. It has a good vibe right now.

Waid's corner has set the template for the universe at large. I still like WF and JLU.
I'm liking Lemire's JSA so far.
The Question and Challengers of the Unknown and Metamorpho have been fun minis.
I like the direction of the new Aquaman. Jeremy Adams GL has really picked up interest for me because my boy Kyle is finally getting to do something
Spurrier's Flash has felt like he's doing a very on-the-nose Grant Morrison impression but the new storyline with the family vacation on Skataris has taken a good turn.
Green Arrow, Nightwing, Batman and Robin, Poison Ivy, Batgirl, and Birds of Prey are all solid.
Jon Kent has basically been shuffled away into token purgatory. Didio, Bendis, and Taylor are war criminals but this as tolerable as it can be unless they rip the bandaid off. Williamson's Superman is entertaining. I'm hyped for the Summer of Superman push.
DC x Sonic is kino

Post your purchases then

oh yeah, I'm also enjoying New Gods

They're shit until they deboot and get rid of the "everything is canon/writers don't have to follow continuity" shit.

Making 90% of their characters gay to pander to Twitter was dumb.

Making 90% of their characters gay

never happened

Worse than Marvel (which is shit) I'm surprised that some are still keeping up with it.

Has it always been worse than Marvel? Everyone I see talking about the two companies say that Marvel characters are better written, they have better stories, events, etc. I don't know how a company can survive if their stories and characters are terrible AND can't break into the movie universe racket.

Better yet fire Jism Lee and keep Geoff Johns with full control and EIC of DC.
We get what we have now but with better changes and we finally get a proper Crossover with Marvel after years.

Marvel as of now is losing to DC and Skybound with Ultimate Keeping the boat afloat since Brevoort and lowe ruined X-men and Spider-Man to a point gail is making snarky jokes at cbr

Worse than Marvel

nah. Marvel's got less good books

Yeah, I'm the only one that reads it.

Post your purchases then

I actually have just gotten into comics after I saw a youtube video about Absolute Wonder Woman and liked it alot.

So I've got every AWW book so far, both Absolute Martian Manhunter books, and the new all-in Aquaman volume up to the present.
I also have bought a bunch of random old shit from both DC and Marvel.

Has it always been worse than Marvel?

it's never been worse than marvel

I almost wish I could be this much of a cum-eater so I could enjoy literally everything, but I prefer the short-lived but potent bursts of dopamine when I finally read something actually good.

fowl

DC's best was better in the mid 80s through the 00s, but most of their respective selections were always crap.

Jism Lee

Jism Ree
Getsoff Johns
lol!

I just stop reading DC after the new 52.

Jim Lee the Jew worshiper was a mistake. Geoff was the best thing they had going.

Just another example that Anon Babble loves to whine about everything and then never actually bothers to do what it preaches by supporting smaller books and obscure characters.

If its not Hal Jordan or Spiderman these fucking retards on this board wont touch it.
