Imperial Leak - Hickmans being tasked with doing the final send off for T’challa in this event

If it wasn’t obvious already. Marvel’s looking to axe T’challa and replace him with Shuri for good. The reception for the second Wakanda movie and the attempt to revitalize Namor as being more Aztec centric will begin with this event. I work as a writer in training at the DC Comics and theres been a lot of chatter about how they're planning on dealing with reaction from Marvel’s black readership from Black Panther finally dying to create synergy with the release of this event thats supposed to place Shuri as the head of Wakanda. Black writers in the new talent/veteran talent workshop have been discussing this for weeks now. It started off as a rumor but its been pretty much confirmed by some of the African writers working on Storms solo book that soon she’ll be in a relationship with Logan again. Hickman is supposed to give him a legendary send off in this event, to finally put the nail in the coffin sort of speak. But theres still some fears about how its all going to be receipted. Also this events meant to kickstart a movie push for Nova/Richard Ryder very soon. It seems like Marvels planing to utilize him more starting in the second quarter of 2026. Im open to answering questions about any other things Ive heard till I can finally fall asleep. Mostly DC stuff.

Actually really plausible right now. The Ultimate Black Panther book is literally just a luke warm busy work book. The main titles been cancelled for some time now and in there they tried to basically bury Tchalla and replace him with a John Ridley OC. Shuri who literally never mattered is suddenly featuring in Event books written by Hickman. This is might be the end for Tchalla. They even wrapped up his relationship with the Storm.

This literally makes no sense. Hell, if they wanted to do it they'd have done it already. It's been 3 years since WF. Rivals is a holdover from that time. They literally have a new T-Bolts book with Namor starring in it.

They didn't turn magically turn Kang into Majors either despite having years and years to do it. Such huge changes won't happen because there's too much built-in lore. Not even NUltimate Namor was turned Aztec. You're deluding yourselves to find something to be mad about.

I think most writers have forgotten that a reason so many of these fake nations were absolute monarchies in the first place was so the characters Namor, T'challa, Black Bolt, etc could make decisive quick action when the plot required

I almost said there are few comic writers I could find more abhorrent than him, but realized that no, he's the worst. Like, Nick Lowe and Quesada piss me off, and most of the shit I hate seems to center on Marvel. DC has a few annoyances what with Tom King or whatever, but little as egregious.

But I cannot think of a single fucking writer worse than Aaron. If I see his name on a book I was mildly interested in, I don't even try. If I hear him announced to take up the next run on one I'm reading, I mourn it. Like, I cannot think of a single fucking good issue I've read by him, or an idea that didn't suck.

To be fair, T’Challa’s never had the classic “main character dies for while” trope that all main comic characters from the Big 2 and Other mage have.

Sure he’s been replaced by Shuri and Casper Cole before, but T’Challa was alive during those times.

A comic death, and resurrection years later wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for 616 T’Challa. Especially while Ultimate Black Panther still comes out.

I sitll believe that they will use this to resurrect Mar-vell permanently seeing that Carol Fumbled hard and Marvels even worse and they need a new Captain, in this case bring the OG back.

Monerchies are also uncomplicated on a system level, so the writer didn't have to worry about due process or creating complex movement systems and instead can just have the main character get to punching the villain
