What unfinished comic hurts you the most?

The new adventures of Adolf Hitler by Morrison.

The Stuff of Legend

Xenozoic Tales :(

The Ballad of Halo Jones. How can there be any other answer?

That was trash.

"there will be 5 more issues"

that was 2018....

Halo Jones dosent have a ending?

Fell
Bedlam

Yes and no

It was supposed to run ten volumes each set in a decade of her life but Moore thought he was a special snowflake and retroactively demanded full ownership of Halo even though he knew it was a work for hire series.

As such we only got three volumes, the last one giving the series a decent ending all things considered (Halo stopped an intergalactic war, then bought a space ship and became a space explorer).

The artist eventually told Neil Gaiman the endgame and gave him permission to tell everyone which he did. Each volume skipped ten years in the future and told of a fantastic adventure Halo had until the final volume had her cross over to the realm outside the universe itself and became immortal. But she gets bored after awhile and returns to the universe and dies of old age.

What the hell is a southern bastard?

Tfw Les Nombrils won't get done because the creators separated.

Damn it!

Unfinished crime drama by Aaron which has all of his worse tics in it

It's about a small town where the only good thing is the football team, who's coach is also the evil crime boss who openly runs the town and cripple
S any player who tried to leave it, because he's so utterly butt hurt that the previous coach ruined his life by telling all the major football scouts about his own corrupt as fuck criminal father and got him blackballed from ever playing for a college team/for the NFL.

His arch nemesis is a sassy black woman who is an Iraq war vet who DID leave town and came back after the coach killed her dad for trying to stage a mutiny against him with his fellow locals.

Series ended with Aaron still building up the confrontation between the two

They DID confront each other but the series still ended with loose ends that were meant to be finished

This one, I loved it

Aaron keeps saying he'll finish it but I doubt it given Latour owns half the rights and is still cancelled

Unfinished? Didn't the biggest conflict, between Coach Boss and Roberta Tubbs, get resolved by the end of the 4th volume?
There were some elements hinted at that could have been made into their own stories, but nothing big.

Ogre Gods. This one specially hurts knowing that it will never get finished because the writer passed away

I've been burned by so many unfinished/abandoned HACKman books over the years.
The Dying and the Dead
Black Monday Murders
Manhattan Projects
Secret

Eric Stephenson gave us Nowhere Men and They're Not Like Us

Injection
Bedlam
Copperhead

But the two that are the worst for me

1) Guy Davis's Marquis. Loved the story, loved the monster designs, loved the art. But, he seems to have abandoned comics to do just design work for cinema and vidya.

2) Artesia by Mark Smylie. A really well thought out and built up fantasy setting, with an epic story going on. Started out as a one-man-band sort of comic and was painted, so it always took a long time to come out. The first mini was published by Sirius and after that imploded, he started Archaia to publish Artesia, but over the years got more side-tracked into building up that company and running it, and now it seems like he's given up on ever continuing the story in comics form as too time-consuming. He has however written a couple of prose novels in that world so I guess that's something.

It was finished.

Diesel

the most blatant jojo ripoff

an actual disclaimer that any similarities to other properties is coincidental

only one issue

It could've been one of the SoP greats but it's just a one off.

shame, Halo Jones is on of my favorites.

Astro City

It still going.

How is that "unfinished"?

Does Busiek even write anymore?

Does Busiek even write anymore?

One new came out in 2022. Busiek say that the bulk of sales comes from collections and grafic novels, so he just abandon the montly issues.

that one is a real shame, it was going places.

Battling Boy and The Fix.

Don't know if the actual comic is on hiatus or translations just stopped but it sucks it's stuck right at the climax
