What was your first webcomic?

Yes. In 2001

Brawl in the Family

Shiftylook's Bravoman

Pokemon Hardcore probably.
Wish there was more nuzlocke comics :((

Wish there was more nuzlocke comics :((

We had plenty they're mostly lost now

Petty Nuzlocke was pretty good for a while. Is it still online?

A delightful comic called Ah! Peegee! that only went for about a dozen pages
It inspired the FUCK out of me, and then 8-bit theater and megatokyo continued that.

I wouldn't recommend reading it to the end anyways. Just the Kanto bits, it gets pretty bad after that.

I don't remember, but I did read some of that back then, at least. It always was kind of shit.

Also

2025

still no printed release of Dresden Codak

I want to say 8Bit Theatre, but it might've been Dominic Deegan (and, if I remember right, I tuned out when the character tried to justify rape).

Dominic Deegan

Worth it for the rewrites. Also it was a necessary and culturally appropriate rape. We can not judge.

hey just like real pokemon

was it like, some demon lord is gonna escape if this lady don' get rape? because yeah in that case.. you do what you gotta do and then you compensate her and her family.

but you also get some real hell of a signed affadavit from the stone of prophecy or whatever, because if it's lying... it's about to be the cat litter gravel of prophecy.

The loss one

Probably Sluggy Freelance.

Nah, some orc raped a female orc because that's part of their customary marriage rites. And the groom's father would've killed the bride had his son not raped her.

The Japanese Beetle, which ironically introduced me to Megatokyo after criticizing it in a roundabout sort of way.

mall monkeys, it came out when I was in 8th grade in 2002, I fondly regard it but it hasn't aged well. but last I heard the guys who made it are in the games industry now and found moderate success as animators.

Like, ever? I don't even know honestly. Like I wanna say magical boy on tapas or the comic made by PEAR, "I was born to work retail" but I know that's wrong and that I've definitely read a webcomic before those two.

kek
that's not rape, that's just nature, Gunther. That is how orcs do. Anyone who had a problem with that being in a fantasy comic is kind of a big moron.
Now if it was part of, er, Vulcan culture or something, in your star trek fanfic, then you might have something to answer for.

shouldn't that be grape? or was he just watching a lot of Kenan and Kel
also this is cute and I like it. I miss Mall Monkeys. remember the Dress Up Missy game?

I need to go to the little girls room

Enters a room that is just full of little girls. Leaves.

That's better.

I don't even remember the name, it was a rescue rangers fancomic where gadget gets kidnapped and turned evil and it was kind of edgy, but I remember it being pretty good for what it was.
Oh and it had like an actual story with an actual ending so that was worth extra points.

this looks pretty funny...
but there's nothing more depressing than the front page saying "hey check out our new site where updates will be from now on" and it's a dead link

I will never understand the depths of this guy's true opinions and which stuff he's false-flagging for
even acknowledging, let alone hating, bike enthusiasts in brightly colored biking outfits, is just.. not something a rational mind does.

It's the US, where riding a bike is the equivalent to riding one of those tiny ass cars that can't go any faster than fourty kilometers an hour.

th-xdfgj.jpg - 1280x720, 207.94K

Grim Tales.

Don't really remember the plot but I'm pretty sure it was edgy as all hell.

it really isn't. everyone rides bikes, everywhere. urban, suburban, rural. it doesn't have a stereotype, and if it did, it'd be like, kids and fitness buffs.
god that is depressing.

Cyanide and Happiness I guess? Followed their Youtube channel when it only really had that noodle song and then found their website.
Ava's Demon for something with a proper storyline. Then Cucumber Quest and then K6BD.

Far from my first, but I remember even as a teenager my lolicon desires just drew me into those comics despite the dumb writing.

plenty people hate bikers even in europe for acting like the road belongs to them and only them and putting themselves and everyone else in danger
besides, he's from Anon Babble and you know what this place can be like: is it that farfetched to say he may frequent Anon Babble or Anon Babble and have come to hate bikers with a passion as a result
you don't need to dig for any political implications that hard

ahh i miss cucumber quest before it started really sending signs it was gonna get super gay. by the standards of the time at least. that was before every webcomic went super gay

Don't really know how far it got since I dropped it around they "fought" this sound demon or something. It just progressed too slow and I lost interest. Cute artstyle at least.

Gone with the Blastwave
I didn't even know any english the first time around, it was just my cousin showing it to me and translating each page as we went

Fuck if I know the first page I saw but it was late 2000s

Ctrl+Alt+Del in 2003. realizing there could be COMICS on the INTERNET was mindblowing. from there i basically found as many as i could: sinfest, questionable content, megatokyo, sam&fuzzy, least i could do, platinum grit, narbonic, mine's bigger, wasted talent, chugworth, return to sender, there's always porn, fallen,

actually yuko oda's original blog is still up, wow
aido.furvect.com/main.htm

at one point i was reading more than a hundred different titles at a time, and now the vast majority are gone. there was one about a neanderthal guy that that went to a school that also doubled as a museum for a bunch of different sentient species? his folks may have been trilobyte farmers. that one has disappeared from the internet, and i'm sure there are more that i don't recall at all.

The only cyclists who're a nuisance by riding in the car lane are the bike racing clubs, and you don't get many of those. All other cyclists either use the designated bike lane or stay close enough to the edge to not become an issue. But I do concede that inner-city cyclists have a shout for being kinda psychotic and prone to high-risk behaviour.

All other cyclists either use the designated bike lane or stay close enough to the edge to not become an issue.

Bullshit. The amount of times I've heard a bike bell behind me on the footpath that says no bikes in Kyoto was absurd.

I think the thing with cyclists is that, especially in America, it's a legitimately dangerous hobby where you are constantly at risk of getting turned into meat paste by some moron. Therefore, the only people willing to participate in it are incredibly stubborn and are hyper-aggressive by necessity

acting like the road belongs to them and only them and putting themselves and everyone else in danger

What? isn't that the stereotype of cars?
there's never more than like one biker at any given time anyway. Yeah we have tons of bikers but this is america, we have ten times as many roads.

Webcomic thread

Look inside

Cyclist seething

Like I get it but come on

I can't even imagine riding in the car lane. I mean, I have to for left turns, and even that feels wrong. So I try to make few left turns. there's really only one in my usual trip to the store. And even then, I'm on an electric cargo trike, so... .. naw it's not fast enough though, yeah I try to stay in the bike lane. one accident is enough, thank you. stupid uneven ground and sudden need to brake.
I mean.. not even a tenth as dangerous as a car. and car drivers are the ones stereotyped as aggressive.. the biker stereotype is always chill and kinda granola.

dude this isn't about defending anybody, I don't have a horse in this race. nigga stole my bike, right out of the old meme.
this is about stereotypes being treated as universal when I've never once heard of it, and I'm .. pretty in touch with media, common jokes, stereotypes..
if this were a thing, you'd expect to see it on crude low-effort humor shows. But the most Family Guy ever did was "it's a great way to stay in shape guy"

Most places in America do not have bike lanes or even side walks. So when a biker gets on the road its annoying as hell to be behind one. And the law protects them as they are afforded the rights of a car so long as the road is below ~40 MPH.

This is doubled when the fags don't use turning signals or start to pretend they are motorcycles that can weave through traffic.

The skunk lady that worked for a porn studio.

Hmm, weird, I would think if this did exist, it would be decidedly unique to America. yknow because this is car country. Europe is bike country, the place where they shit on cars. and sometimes that sneaks over here.

Let's see..
um.. these can't be real.

Most places in America do not have bike lanes or even side walks.

Anon, for most of my life, I moved every year or every two years. I've lived in the absolute innermost city, the total boondocks, everything in between. I've lived in a couple states. That is a 93% false statement. Unless I was somehow astronomically lucky enough to always live where there's sidewalks and bike lanes. Where would people park, if there was no bike lane? You mean highways? You're not supposed to ride a bike on the highway. I don't think it's even legal.

turn signals

uh... bikes don't have those. you have to just use your hands. and yeah in fairness I've never seen anyone but me do that, but I've also never seen anyone turn.

Cyclists in the US are at legit risk of getting brained by somebody sticking out a 4x4 while approaching them from behind.
Or being rammed and pushed off the road. US cyclists consequently are overall a pretty psychotic and paranoid breed.

Though these fuckers exist, and they usually don't maintain their brakes.

I appreciate that furry webcomics are either the most mundane or batshit crazy weird and there's no in-between

Octopus Pie. Found it in 2013 and I followed it until it ended. Been waiting for Gran to drop another post-series storyline but I don't think that's happening until her new game drops.

2009-07-29.png - 700x559, 54.27K

What a bizarre pair of statements. Or are you saying anyone sane would have just given up by now.
because I mean, the idea is, don't have a car, can't drive a car, can't afford a car, and going where there's no parking. Most of the biking I've ever done was on the way to a bus stop, to stow it and continue to or from work.

I'm the creator of a fairly popular webcomic which ran semi regularly from 2000 to 2004 and even made me money, then I rebooted in 2006, and I was able to erase it almost completely from the internet. My fans complained so much I had to lie to them, and it worked, which was a huge relief.
I check the Anon Babble archives once in a while to see if anyone mentions is, and fortunately no one does. It was so cringe.
I'm also lucky that my real name and identity aren't associated with it.
But now I'm afraid lf publishing creative works, because there's a chance that someone makes the connection.

Wow anon so you've live in every location in America? Or maybe perhaps you haven't seen all of it?

From my experiences living up/down the east coast/Canada line, blue states usually have side walks and some bike trails which filters most idiots. But you start to go down towards red or rural areas in any place and the side walks get bit more rare for stretches. Bike lanes are not a thing in a lot of those places. Fuck just yesterday I was on way back home in moderate sized town and passed a fucker in wheel chair going down the street of busy road because there was no sidewalks.

highways

Neither of us are talking about highways.

Signals

People who aren't out to be asses or do it as hobby are better about this because they can usually move a decent pace and realize not every driver reads their mind. Seen others just outright cross two lanes assuming you can stop on dime or out right ignore stop signs.
