Guyver units all have weapons like arm blades, various energy/beam projectiles. Weakness is control metal on head being broken or torn out. Guyver unit is more of just a bio armor than a being

Guyver seems like the all around better choice, unless you can find a very specific symbiote with both powers you like and an agreeable personality.

I mean Venom has been super vulnerable to heat,/sounds usually cause lazy writing, but other times it truly needs to be extreme levels, plus sometimes symbiotes can strengthen against weaknesses or get rid of them outright
Guyvers weakness is more tight, but always present, someone strong just has to break your forehead. I think it's a fair tradeoff to compare

Guyver units aren't a separate living being, they bond with the user and and the control metal basically copies the user. Symbiotes are their own being and can turn on their partner.

I tend to consider how would these things improve my regular life, and I think the symbiote would help make my regular life more convenient, but the bio-booster armour would definitely win out if it came to superheroing. After all what the fuck is a mugger gonna do when I have a mega-smasher blast?
Also a symbiote doesn't HAVE to be sentient, remember a whole thing with Carnage is that Cletus bonded so well with his symbiote that he refers to himself with the singular "I" as opposed to "we" which Venom does because Eddie Brock was never meant to be the true host, Venom was essentially two separate characters pissed off at Spidey working together for revenge.

For the most part, having a symbiote seems more fun, but being unable to deal with loud noises or listen to loud music would suck. In this scenario, it's a "friendly" symbiote at least that won't consume you, I imagine.
The Guyver is cool but seems like it's be painful and just very time and recourse consuming. It's not a clean instant shift, or something you can partially use. The possible body damage is far more traumatic if regenerative. The symbiote is implied to make a body more flexible and fluid when bonded so taking big impacts just sloshes you around in a jelly state
