Angry Beavers didn't run a child trafficking ring from their pizza restaurant.
Because Kyle's designs are worse, his punny bullshit isn't funny or interesting, and he's about 30 years too late. He also tends to overuse the same fucking poses for his characters which doesn't communicate any sense of personality or hook. CatDog is a duo, but their anatomy coupled with the obvious "cat's don't get along with dogs" thing brings up a lot of questions. In the I Am Weasel promos, you can see the clever confident Weasel coupled with the dimwitted downtrodden baboon and get a sense of what the dynamic is like. Same with Angry Beavers with the dumb happy character against the smart angry character. Sure, the hook isn't the deepest thing ever, but at least it hints at tension.
Kyle's characters tend to always be the same bullshit. Two wacky characters that play off of some stupid pun, they're both pumped to be there, and they hold their hands out in a "TADA!" sort of palms out gesture. There's nothing to suggest tension or conflict or that the plot could be very interesting. It's just "yup...we're burger related characters and we'll talk about burgers. Yup...we're fruit juice." At the very least, Pizza Piggies is slightly more interesting in that you can imagine they may get up to hijinks while delivering pizzas. Still, it would be more interesting if the characters weren't both expressing "FUCK YEAH!!!". Make one of them grumpy or sad or nervous or stupid or...ANYTHING to imply a sense of relationship dynamic.
