Too much work and too autistic to put in the effort.

I am making my own comics

the programs are hard. i can't remember all the hotkeys and tools to make the process easier.
so i just draw the frames and edit the timing in a video editor, and hope for the best.

I've seen the comic this is based on. I couldn't handle not being the guy in it, so I'm not gonna make myself suffer further by watching any of this...

I don't need to animate since most youtube niggas are content to watch animatics.of critical role segments or cumtown bits.

I am a subpar artist but that isn't the worst of it. Creatively spekaing I'm lacking, making characters, storylines, and dialogue are a chore let alone the actual process of putting together the plot. Trying to do everything myself was a cringe inducing nightmare and when I tried to bring other people in to feed my autism it wasn't long before they left because they saw I couldn't really do anything.
Currently writing fanfiction at 36 hoping I can at least reach high enough of a skill level where I can write a children's book and illustrate it myself. Wish me luck.

If you want to learn the also hard, but less discouraging way, find an artist you like and study them. Trace them even.

Or draw yourself in the mirror. Life drawing a person in front of you is way better than a photo or screen.

But honestly if you're having trouble right at the start you just need to practice one thing: not stopping. Make a habit out of it enough that you feel bad when you skip a day.

I have no interest in drawing or animating. i tried when i was younger but i realized that i had more fun writing.

Not a professional art Anon by any stretch. I can, however, recommend some excellent books that are easy enough to acquire from either Anon Babble or the web.

Figure Drawing Design and Invention by Michael Hampton

Almost definitely the best place to start. I don't know why people recommend Loomis when this book exists. Starts you off with gesture drawing, then identifying critical landmarks of the human body, and then finally it goes through each body part and explains the anatomy behind each one.

Anatomy for sculptors

Great resource, worth flipping through a few times or referencing if you're having trouble with something. Sculpting is just drawing in 3D.

Force: Dynamic Life Drawing for Animators by Michael D. Mattesi

Once you've got a better handle on anatomy (or if you just want to focus on something different for a while), this will help bring life to your drawings by teaching you how to inject more "movement/energy" into the poses.

Framed Ink

A very lovely book that focuses more on the lighting and composition of shots and panels. I suppose you could think of it as an anatomy book for shots and panels.

I failed classes and got suspended twice from college because I dedicated more time to animations that barely got 500 views on YT.

Since I got the year off and I have nothing to do except looking for jobs, I am still doing animations but with even less drive.

I don't like my career. I like animating but I'm completely mediocre at it. Yet, I keep going because the alternative is realizing that I wasted my youth.

How do people go about narrowing down timings/timing sheets and frame rates in general for their animations?

I've done a small few lewd ones but my patience is still short and I get easily distracted.
