Paramount Plus will acquire South Park in the US...

Paramount Plus will acquire South Park in the US, in Europe it owns the series already and banned the following episodes:

Season 1 Episode 4 "Big Gay Al's Big Boat Ride"

Season 2 Episode 1 "Terrance And Phillip In Not Without My Anus"

Season 1 Episode 18 ''Prehistoric Iceman''

Season 4 Episode 14 "Pip"

Season 5 Episode 3 "Super Best Friends"

Season 6 Episode 2 "Jared Has Aides"

Season 6 Episode 7 "Simpsons Did It''

Season 7 Episode 1 "Cancelled"

Season 7 Episode 4 ''I'm A Little Bit Country''

Season 8 Episode 3 "Passion Of The Jew"

Season 8 Episode 4 "You Got F'd In The A"

Season 9 Episode 8 "Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow"

Season 9 Episode 12 "Trapped In The Closet"

Season 10 Episode 3/4 "Cartoon Wars 1/2"

Season 14 Episode 5/6 "200/201"

Season 16 Episode 4 "Jewpacabra''

Season 17 Episode 6 "Ginger Cow''

who cares? this series is long dead

I don't believe you regarding the banned episodes

NOT WITHOUT MY ANUS AND PREHISTORIC ICEMAN AREN'T ON THERE?!?!

Big Gay Al's Big Boat Ride

Why? This was the opposite of homophobic. Why this and not the tranny episodes?

This has to be fake holy shit
Regardless, I'm glad I have the pirated copies and the blu rays (released back in 2017, super best friends is on the s5 set uncensored)

Streaming is the futur-ACK

You cared enough to reply.

Looking at that list, I think they might've asked ChatGPT what the most controversial episodes of South Park were and banned them based on that. There is no fucking reason for eps like "Not Without My Anus", "Pip" or "Simpsons Did It" to be banned... except those are always episodes that turn up on lists of "most controversial episodes", "worst episodes", etc.

Kek
Paramount does seem lazy enough to use gpt

1882-1954
his lifetime

Calling it now, sooner or later, Trey is going to demand that seasons 1-4 are removed from streaming due to his longtime hatred of the early years

Peter Thiel isn't trans

Season 2 Episode 1 "Terrance And Phillip In Not Without My Anus"

Season 1 Episode 18 ''Prehistoric Iceman''

Season 6 Episode 7 "Simpsons Did It''

Season 7 Episode 1 "Cancelled"

Season 7 Episode 4 ''I'm A Little Bit Country''

Season 8 Episode 4 "You Got F'd In The A"

Season 9 Episode 8 "Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow"

Season 16 Episode 4 "Jewpacabra''

Season 17 Episode 6 "Ginger Cow''

None of these bans make any sense. The others I can see an argument being made even if I don't agree with it.

It's to make a point. You watch only what we permit you to watch.

Cancelled and Ginger Cow (and presumably Jewpacabra although I don't remember that episode at all) would be removed for being antisemitic. Many of the other bans are still fucking crazy though. They probably banned Prehistoric Iceman because it features a parody of the Crocodile Hunter??

You Got F'd In The A

But why tho

But, keep this joke?

If that episode isn't banned, then yes!!!

I imagine it was more the 'stick your finger up an animals butt' part than parodying crocodile hunter part.

I guess because it ended with a bunch of ethnic kids brutally killed.

It's ironic how so many early episodes get banned despite them being so tame in comparison to the newer seasons, that comedy Central and Max had a lot of them rerated to TV-14
Not even the syndicated version, just the same episodes as they've always aired

What's wrong with Cancelled and Pip?

Pip reads the Epstein flight logs in the middle of the episode

Season 1 Episode 4 "Big Gay Al's Big Boat Ride"

This seems like some mid level decision maker saw the title and immediately said no, without ever once looking into the context of the episode. Since the whole thing is about accepting gay people.

Anything that includes muslims at all seems to be banned.

Terrance and Phillip go to Iraq and Iraqis are killed.
Simpsons did it had religious suicide bombers
Simpsons did it had Muslims as an alien species
I'm a little bit Country also had drums of war in the middle east and a sequence about Bin Laden
You got Fed in the A just had a lot of gore, like the first episode to have it really
Jewpicabra has Cartman happily converting to Judiasm and Jews are evil colonizers to europeans
Ginger Cow also mentions muslims

I knew it
I will not stand for this Saddam erasure

And yet, Imaginationland still stands. There is no rhyme or reason to any of this.

So, DVDs releases are still valid? Asking for archival purposes...

But "All about Mormons" is still okay?

Shit like this is why i have never paid for any of the streaming services. If I'm already using bandwidth why the fuck wouldn't I just download it and get it for free forever? How dumb are normies that juggling 20 different subscriptions is less effort than piracy?

No one gives a fuck about mormons and they deserve to be mocked. Unlike muslims they won't get violent either.

And Red Sleigh Down.

Yeah this episode is really progressive and directly challenges South Park's target audience at the time, it's pretty crazy for 1997

If corps keep being corps, DVDs are going to become more valuable than ever in this clown world

Yeah, they're still good
The blu rays are as well unless you're an aspect ratio purist as they've remastered all the episodes. I personally like them.
The blus are also uncensored audio-wise from season 3 onward, whereas the DVDs were all bleeped up to season 10

Finally get the streaming rights back to one of your biggest animated shows

Purge over a dozen episodes almost at random

Will probably remove more

Are these companies retarded? It's bad enough that 200/201/SBF were banned but that happened over a decade ago. Then Max removed Cartoon Wars in 2020.

You should have most of Shit Park saved somewhere already. Bans are irrelevant.

At this point they're just doing this shit as a show of power

Oh, Shit. I'll need to get Blus then. Thanks Anon.

Yes making fun of the religion that has its roots in southern white supremacy and coded that into their beliefs is fine anon. Why would you think it isn't?

Exactly, so you had better accept your lot in life as cattle that exists to serve the almighty corporations. The world WILL be devoured by endless greed, and you WILL let it happen.

It's actually fascinating the level of uncensorship we had back in the 00s. to the point of Comedy Central actually going full 100% uncensored, everything goes after 1AM.

That weird little period of time from about 2003 to about 2012 or so when anything could be said or done on tv and it was fine and people got the fuck over it. It seems like such a fantastical unreal era today.

Southern? Mormons were from New York. They moved west to Utah. Not south.

This kind of cowardly obstruction of free expression lost at the ballot box over half a year ago.

The joke of Jewpacabra was that Cartman blatantly made up the Jewpacabra myth to get easter eggs until hunting Bigfoot makes him think its real.
The other running joke in the episode is just "God was kind of a dick in the Old Testament" but even that's countered because Cartman's interpretation of Egypt's slavery compared it to the Union not letting the South to secede

Not any of the now controversial trans commentary episodes

or the episodes that show Cartman's wiener or Wendy's nipples.

Pip has to go

Mormons aren't the only white supremacist religious group in America

Republicans are just another side of pearl clutchers and keep trying to take away porn access period.

Well, no duh. That wasn't my problem though, Mormons are benign i guess. The Broadway play was decent.
I'm struggling to understand why Paramount upon getting ownership from Matt and Trey, or Comedy Central or whomever suddenly grew a conscience over content enough to censor parody completely.
Humor and satire are finally dead.

There's a very clear schizm right now between the new populist republicans and the pathetic old guard, but we can't go into that without going too far off topic.
I'm just going to say that the post-2020 attempts at erasing films and episodes of tv shows from digital catalogues has had no actual positive effect on these companies. It's only led to boycotts and increased bitterness toward the PC monolith.

Who the fuck would even use a paramount streaming service?
