Do people actually like these celebrity cameos?
Do people actually like these celebrity cameos?
Name the last Colbert joke that made you laugh
his life
.....
I guess the Candy Land sketch from 2016? I stopped watching around 2019.
Look, the man was GOLD back on Comedy Central, but once he got the Late Show, the quality dropped like a rock. Fuck man, whoever kept pushing that fluffy hat bit in the writer's room should be black listed.
His tears following election nights
It had to have been at least before 2014, when he gave an insufferable vanity interview to Saint Anita. That's like eleven fucking years in the past at this point, and I think it's still too soon because I stopped watching WAY before. Maybe the Suey Park controversy? But I hadn't been paying much attention to him.
I like 30-something rn, so I probably haven't laughed at him since I was a teenager. It's kind of shocking to think he's probably been unfunny longer than he's been funny.
He's a good actor, the problem is he's been working with really shitty scripts for two decades.
Ironically?
Skibidi Biden
The Vax-Scene
Unironically? Nothing, really.
He's a good voice actor though, I'll give him that. I liked him as the Mr. Fantastic parody from the Venture Bros.
I don't remember anything Colbert ever even said or did beyond get cameos and gifts.
Him covering the Doritos Locos Tacos
Cameos in general are just marketing.
Admittedly I was one of the rare shitheads who actually enjoyed Stan Lee's cameos as a running gag in everything.
He was funny as the president in MvA
It at least makes more sense since he “created” those characters (still a huge hack though)
Birdman finale
LOL
Speculators, aka the real fans, do.
I remember liking colbert and Jon Stewart as a kid..
I'm not a fan of colbert nowadays, not because of anything from his show, but for all of the garbage political cartoons that are being put out under his name.
At this point, I'd never do celebrity cameos, with how technology has changed our social landscape, anything can come back and bite you in the ass
Yes.
the vax scene....
Him losing his shit during the trump wins is pretty amusing
Only time Colbert made me laugh is when I saw him seethe about trump getting elected
he's not my favorite celebrity, it SUCKS
I implore you to keep crying about it.
Celebrities are horrible people and shouldn't be depicted associating with superheroes.
Superman's face always makes me laugh
He doesn't trust this dude at all
are you really going to simp for two scoops man?
He's laughing at how pathetic and troon-like you are, and I will join him.
samefagging isn't helping your case
No. They don't sell. But the fags in the comics industry want to be famous and the closest they think they can get is to associate their shitty comics with celebrities. It's motivated by ego, not by sales.
The other day he said something funny on his show and I laughed.
Lmao is this real?
Oof.. guess Superman didnt use his x-ray vision to see the inside of Jared's house.
lol?
"Hey Stephen, it's me, Jon!"
"I see you still got that CBS gig, that's awesome!"
"Remember when we used to make fun of Bush?"
"Remember 'truthiness'? Aw man, that was classic!"
"Hey, they made me host of The Daily Show again a couple years ago, did you hear that?"
"No, no, it's alright. How about you come on the show sometime? It'll be just like the old days!"
"...Oh, you're busy? That's cool, that's cool, I know being a network late-night host must be a lot of work, haha! But if you're ever available..."
I like how they made him do an apology tour for all the tranny jokes he made before trannies were made off limits to joke about five minutes ago
I feel bad for the gay dancers.
He was only funny when he was on Strangers with Candy as an emotional gay man who eats a lot to talks shit about everyone.
Laugh
No
Chuckle
Probably the two scoop meltdown?
The people he filters with his trump jokes. Many examples in this very thread. They're his biggest joke because they are jokes
He can still be funny from time to time but it's a lot harder to transition from a kayfabe Bill O'Reilly parody to a more straightforward comedian especially when Obama's less popular second term came along compared to the first
Are you really still crying?
Jon's a simp for the current admin, and he'll threaten to throw you out his show if you call him out on it.
current admin
It worked for the Letterman issue of Avengers so they keep trying to make it work.
Colbert is so dimeless in his current gig that they have to reference a book from 20 years ago back when he was actually good
Grim
Ironically written by Gerard Jones and with art by Justiniano.
The president from Monsters vs Aliens who he voiced was a moderately entertaining character
No.
The Vacc-scene bit but only because of how pathetic the whole sad ordeal was.
Guys, you're not gonna believe this, He's making another Trump joke
Really! how is it
Recently when he made fun of that sausage mascot. There are times when it doesn't take much.
I wish internet archive or somewhere had a complete collection of both TDS and Colbert Report so I have shit I can watch while I'm bored at work. Archive has some TDS but it's from the 2010s which is lame, I want comfy Bush era comedy kino.
For me it's watching old Conan bits.
I really don't
