Good shows ignored because of their art styles

Looks like the kind of shows that if I were running a distribution service or cable channel I'd personally fund each and every single one of those, and then right before we premiere them I'd cancel them forever, lock the shows in a digital vault, and fire the animators.

onion and apple was terrible it had probably one good thing and it was the beef jerky guy. Other than that it was just two autistic British guys talking about their shoes and doing very childish things ripping off regular show with no creativity

Apple and Onion is so much funnier than Regular Show it's not even funny. And the episode premises are actually creative instead of "oh no this thing from the 80s came to life as a monster" 244 times.

Apple and Onion is awful. Ivandoe is good however.

I love Apple & Onion and I agree, but I wasn't a fan of how the show became gradually more depressing in the latter half of the second season. It didn't go full Bojack Horseman, but it definitely felt like they were hard learning into the joke of, "Our characters are vocally miserable".

And for that reason, I think Pickle & Peanut mogs both shows. It's also a cartoon that gets ignored because of its art style.

Apple and Onion is awful.

I hope you saw episodes apart from the first ten or so because they're not representative of the show as a whole

fails and gets cancelled

Regular Show gets revived instead

I liked them.

Cartoons are a visual medium, same as comics: trying to look ugly because it's "easier to draw/animate" is an inherent detriment

P&P is great. We need more mixed media shows like that.

Not only was Clarence dismissed because of its art style, it wasn't even dismissed based on an accurate idea of its art style.
People look at Clarence and think it's a generic beanmouth show, but actually he's really the only one who looks like that, there's a pretty wide variety in the design of the characters.
And even if you don't like the art style, Clarence is the best show to come out in a very long while that captures the feeling of being a kid.

it's not even funny

true

Ivandoe just looks gay af, like it'd be an obnoxious screaming cartoon ala Gumball

I agree with left at least, right never interested me

I'm so angry that those first ten Apple & Onion episodes are some of the weakest in the entire series. I'd worry that they probably scared away many potential fans, but let's be honest; most people didn't even bother giving the show a try after just reading the title or seeing the designs.

Bunnicula

I think Pickle & Peanut mogs both shows.

whats the with the weird shilling for it? It looks ugly and these character have no charm. It deserved to die.

Honestly I agree, it was pretty entertaining and fun, it didn't feel boring as fuck or too safe either.

I was surprised by how many jokes I enjoyed from it. Art style really does filter a lot of people myself included

Problem Solverz for me and Tigtone at first

I never watched the show proper but the “he escaped” lampshade joke in the pilot had me cackling

Apple and Onion was ignored because of how droll and boring it was in general, including the voice work. People also remember when it was coming out and they had the creator try to hype up the show in a video and looked tired and incapable of explaining anything about the show. Like he couldn't even pretend to care.

I really liked Pickle and Peanut. Really chill though bizarre show and Pickle is a sweety.
Was surprised that it had a small fanbase in Japan of all places which landed them exclusive merch.

Ivandoe's gotta be the laziest form of Calarts.

Felt like most of the show's push was coming from Onion being voiced by Richard Ayoade. That's at least some pull for the UK market.

Fingers get long instead of his legs.

Immediately starts prodding and caressing Onions head.

Got a chuckle out of me.

Are you sure it's not a case of

Honestly I never had a problem with Apple and Onion's art style and never really got the "beanmouth" vibe from it. It feels like it could've been a Comedy Central show from the early 2010s.

Ivandoe has nice furbait, interesting how no one latched onto it when even squeaky clean stuff like Kiff got traction on Anon Babble and with furry artists

Man i'm not even American but i feel like Clarence got so much right about being a kid, definitely more exaggerated and fantastical but i definitely met some of the people in the show when i was like 8.
