How do Disney adults become the way that they are? Is it something in the water at Disney parks? Disney movies aren't that amazing. Their merch is generally overpriced for low quality items. The food at the parks is mid or below mid. How does Disney manage to radicalize so many people in to becoming so fervent about their brand?

From what I have observed it seems to stem from having a traumatic childhood. People with unhealed emotional wounds tend to like comfy safe hugbox spaces, and Disney is just people being surrounded by childhood cartoons/movies that were positive escapist outlets. Also all of the employees are forced to be nice to you. I haven't met any Disney adults who haven't had some kind of fucked up past, so I can't explain why people who grew up okay are Disney adults (if there are any.). Last time I was in a Disney park was when I was like 5. As a kid i dreamed of going back. But it never happened. It was too expensive, even in the 90s.

Are the parks even that good nowadays? I went there when I was a kid (I'm talking about 3 decades ago) and I have better memories of other parks like Busch Gardens or Universal Studios.
