Stuff that scared you as a kid

Whats this?

Tech giant CEO who uploads his brain and becomes a renegade AI decades after his death in the Batman Beyond season 2 episode "Lost Soul"

From The Pagemaster (1994):

That same shot of Mr. Hyde was used in the PC adventure game, me (4) and my sister (7) were so scared of doing something wrong and getting that game over screen with him, we literally covered our eyes before turning a corner, in case it was a failure path...

I was 5. I almost shat myself...

2003 Baxter Stockman's whole storyarc throughout that show was getting mutilated and Cronenberged before this happened, which was probably the worst of it

I watched a bunch of cartoons but the only thing that scared me was Anon Babble related.

Siskel & Ebert recommended Akira on home video and one of the clips they showed was that guy getting mowed down by machine gun fire from the beginning of the movie. It was graphic violence I wasn't prepared for and a cartoon no less! It scared me like Murphy getting gun tortured in Robocop scared me.

None of the Hey Arnold ones are as freaky when you're an adult though

My parents fighting

Never noticed how "TNBA" this looked.

What's that old green text about an anon wanting to go see a movie as a kid, but it turning out to be shit or now what he expected and this led to a huge argument that broke up his parents?

I remember most vividly the end, where after getting stuck in the batsuit, he essentially gets deleted, which for some reason manifest as the Ai mentally regressing to an infant.

For some reason, the artist on the boat in the DoodleBob episode of SpongeBob scared me. I think it was the way he was really intense and angry. I remember that I would close my eyes or change the channel when he screamed at the end. I was probably like 4-5 years old when this episode came out, so yeah.

Wow you were a stupid kid.

...and I can't believe that no one has said Superman fembot scene yet.

Kids are stupid, water is wet.

Your generation seems especially kind of dumb though. Back in my time for something to really upset a kid it had to be inordinately violent or unexpectedly grotesque. Something genuinely monstrous. This retardation is only a sliver from "YES THIS DID AIR ON PBS KIDS"

James Earl Jones was scary in this movie than he was in Conan and Star Wars. I ask this a lot but are we certain he wasn't really an evil wizard?

Unfortunately, my parents were not showing me slasher films or LiveLeak videos as a 4 year old. Lol

You're one of those aren't you

Oh my fucking god! He turns into a nigger?! Worst death possible

Of course someone did, anon. It's right here:

gets defeated by a redditor

this movie was a genuine treat.

Getting strangled to death by a snare trap was pretty fucked to watch.

Wrong link my guy.

Ah the 80s.

Batman Beyond was full of fucked up shit for a kid's show, like what happened to that simp for Inque. Earth Mover still haunts a corner of my brain to this day.

If we're not terrifying your kids we're depressing the shit out of them on existential levels.

At least Watership Down has a good ending.
Plague Dogs genuinely is a depressing as shit movie.

Mostly Anon Babble stuff but
The witch in Snow White
The scream when she died that was used in sleeping beauty
Pinocchio donkeys
Horn drill and guillotine sounds in pokemon stadium
The last level in yoshi story with the smashers
The music that plays in the star trek game that was in movie theaters
Quan Chi in the mk4 arcade cabinet

Earth Mover still haunts a corner of my brain to this day.

NOTTTT ACCCIDENTTT

Batman Beyond was full of fucked up shit for a kid's show

For me it was Ian Peek sinking to the Earth's core and Abel Cuvier becoming an Akira monster. Splicers, The Winning Edge which probably started a muscle growth fetish and Disappearing Inque were the first episodes of that show I have vivid memories of watching other than the VHS of the pilot, and they all have body horror scenes. Of course, there was also Return of the Joker. I have so much happy nostalgia for such a fucked up story about mind rape and child abuse.

Reminder hasbro believed kids were going to not give a shit about optimus and buy the next toy that would come out, it send them into a spiral of pain after understanding that life and death are tied closely.

Oh look a funny movie about silly dogs, fun for the whole anime. Oh wait no here's the embodiment of absolute entropy and devourer of mortality here to serve as a inescapable reminder that all life is fleeting.

It's not very healthy in here

this thread shows how some people grow up to be faggots.

waaah le spliced monster

go through chemo as a child

you’re not allowed to have childhood fears because I was holocausted or something

You don't have any friends do you?

saw a face like this on mexican tv back in 2001
