Two episodes dropping in ten minutes. One is a literal filler Ms. Marvel crossover episode, the other is about Matt finally suiting up as DD and fighting Muse.
Daredevil Born Again
One is a literal filler Ms. Marvel crossover episode
does Carol show up, if she does I'll watch
One is a literal filler Ms. Marvel crossover episode
waaaahhh you can't cross over with the only good mcu d+ show
Kys.
Nobody cares. Fuck this show, fuck the MCU, fire feige
Based and truthpilled
releasing 2 episodes
Why?
Because they've algorithmically determined that two episodes drives more viewers and engagement than one or three.
Because one of them is a filler episode from the show's original premise of a more light hearted lawyer based "dramedy"
i thought it was gonna be a 2 part crazy daredevil and punisher arc but its just ms. marvels zesty dad at a bank which does nothing to further the plot. haven't seen the other episode yet.
Instead of Ms Marvel crossover it should just be an episode of Matt boning his hot new girlfriend.
And she also invites Vanessa Fisk for a threesome because she's her therapist.
This. The whole season should have been dropped at once.
Muse's suit was great and the fight was pretty good too, mostly practical and grungy like the Netflix show fights without as many cuts like in the previous episodes but apparently that's also all we're getting of him in this season?
Season 2 leaks
Season 1 ends with Bullseye targeting Fisk during a gala event. Matt takes a bullet for Fisk and is declared missing, Fisk puts the city under martial law and authorizes the anti-vigilante task-force to use lethal force against dissidents.
Matt and Karen get together and go on the run. Matt is a wanted man and there is a hotline for people to report sightings of him and vigilante activity.
Matt gets a new black suit. Rumor is he will reform the Defenders to fight Fisk, with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher and Echo all expected to appear.
Heather, BB, Muse and Officer Powell will return.
Cherry gets brutally beaten by Powell and the AVTF at some point.
Set pics show Annie Parisse as a new character who seems to be an ally to Matt getting arrested by the AVTF.
Foggy will return in flashbacks/hallucinations.
Matthew Lillard will play a new mystery character said to be a villain.
Disney did this with Andor too. If the show has some stinker episodes they just drop a few at once so you'll binge through it and only talk about the good shit.
Disney did this specifically because of Andor S2, they didn't want it and Born Again to overlap while airing so they aired four episodes together so Andor's premiere can drop a week after Born Again ends.
make an 18 episode show
axe the showrunners
turn it into a 9 episode show comprised mostly of chopped up footage from the first show
legitimately, what was the point if the majority of the show was going to be chopped up shit from the original cut? this shit barely coherent as is.
I really wish they had stuck with that premise.
They only managed to film like six episodes before the overhaul, they were planning on splitting Born Again into two cours with the first nine episodes coming out then the other nine in the next year.
I like Ms. Marvel
If Foggy did not die it would have worked wonderfully.
this shit barely coherent as is.
It's suprisingly solid for a show that was frankensteined together. I think the only time it felt noticeable was in the fifth episode where Matt suffenly becomes weirdly charismatic and chipper despite the previous ep and the one after it going back to depressed and serious Matt Murdock.
does Carol show up
Not even Kamala shows up, it's a crossover with her dad
It's suprisingly solid
Delusional
Wait what? How is that all we see from Muse? Does matt seriously only care about saving angela and not the rest of the victims/future victims?
He disappears so that Bullseye and Kingpin become the villains again
The episodes standalone aren't bad. The overall plot to the season makes no sense. There are so many different subplots that won't connect and it bounces all over the place. How come that jewelry has never been mentioned by the 5 families beforehand? Why do we not see the irish guys talking to that one inside employee from the bank before the robbery? Unrelated but why doesn't muse talk?
Bullseye
They better at least show a cool fight scene of him getting out, I hope it isn't just fisk/vanessa making a phone call but rather dex fighting his way out
The midseason trailer just came out and it seems like they're adapting a scene from the comics where Bullseye uses and spits out his teeth like bullets
Why do we not see the irish guys talking to that one inside employee from the bank before the robbery?
Why would we? This is meant to be a twist.
Dead show crossing over with a dead show lmao
What's the point of bringing up Ms. Marvel and not actually bringing her in. You can feel the weird behind the scenes issues and reorganizing at Marvel behind the scenes in the show because there are weird things like this all over.
for fun
Obviously setup for Avengers and another hero to tie Matt in. I do recall they actually did try to get Kamala herself but realized that might be too much or jarring
Sana Amanat wanted to shill her poochie and she's in charge of the show
How is Ms. Marvel any good?
The school slice of stuff were the best parts even though that was what apparently turned a lot of people off from the show, it falls apart when they go to Pakistan and they somehow slotted in a save the universe storyline.
What else did you enjoy?
I would have preferred to see more footwork from Matt regarding how he found Muse rather than just showing up but yeah, the fight was fine.
Other than that, I'm not feeling Muse. I would have preferred him to be a bit gabbier rather than the silent psycho vibe they have going for him. Then again the person they cast for him doesn't have much presence so whatever.
There are so many different subplots that won't connect and it bounces all over the place
Yeah, almost like basically any prestige show? What are you having trouble following exactly? All you've complained about so far aside from Muse is basic storytelling shit, you don't need to know about the point of the heist or the inside man before the heist begins, did you complain that Hans Gruber's plan should've been clear from the start too?
Kingpin's attempts at politicking are failing versus his growing anger returning and dragging him back to who he really is and his dedication is split between that and trying to repair what he has with Vanessa who has taken over the underworld for him
Daredevil is trying to stay clean but gets dragged back into vigilantism because shit is dangerous and he gives a massive shit, also he has a new gf who provides provoking questions that drive him
Muse is clearly the most undefendable example of "masked psychos" that will incense Fisk/the task force and make it harder for Matt
What fucking plot are you not able to follow?
Kamala herself and her family were fun, and the direction/editing of the first two eps gave Ang Lee vibes in a good way. Again I was enjoying the show up until they went to Pakistan and suddenly they had to fight the multiverse djin
I'll torrent it and binge it rn
The footwork was kinda already done by Hector. Angela looked into the Q line and got caught, Matt with his sonar looked into the Q line and found him faster than Angela would have.
I'm not feeling Muse
I'm not familiar with the comic character but I think based on the vibe he's not really meant to be a compelling character for the show, he's just a serial killer.
The problem with Muse is he only had 30 seconds of screentime before this episode, and in this episode he is found immediate and then forced to scatter from his base. He's only important and considered a threat to the viewers because we know he is Muse The Supervillain, not because the show has conveyed that to us. It's how Marvel does all their shit now. They barely bother to show in the SHOW why these characters matter, and then just have producers tell you after the fact in an interview. Look how much many fucking interviews there are about the motivations of fucking kang vs how little screentime he has in anything of note, or look how viewers turned on John Walker three times over the course of Falcon and the Winter Soldier without him actually doing anything notably heroic or villainous, he was Just a Guy.
good mcu d+ show
No.
Muse feels like a victim of the overhaul cutting, like he was probably supposed to get an entire arc dedicated to dealing with him but he got reduced to a plot device for a single episode to make Matt go back to being Daredevil. He's confirmed to return for season two so hopefully he gets more screentime there.
You guys are talking about the bank robbery episode being filler, but what's weirder to me is that it doesn't even follow the structure of the show in any way. Kingpin doesn't appear at all despite his otherwise heavy screen presence, and there's no BB report (this one is a positive, those scenes just beat the themes over your head and fuck with the pacing).
I'd say maybe it was the episode they were filming when the strike hit, and they cobbled it together without those elements, but the final product is pretty lean. There's not really any fat that would normally get trimmed in editing, as far as I can tell. So there's not really any room for a Kingpin subplot.
As somebody who doesn't like Muse and doesn't find him compelling in the comics either, I was still somehow disappointed. Actually quite incredible
MCU has done so much damage to villain writing by popularizing the "villains are not important, just slapdash something and it will work" mindset. Not just in capeshit, but it feels like every other genre is following suit.
Ms. Marvel
good
.00000000000000984 MouseBucks have been deposited into your account.
Totally fake but neat fanfic
Can’t imagine getting hyped about Disney wrangling a series that already had a decent ending.
>waaaahhh you can't cross over with the only good mcu d+ show
But nobodys complaining about Lalo showing up in episode 6?
You can tell it's a pre-overhaul episode because Matt is pretty happy despite the previous episodes or even the one after it. It really feels more like a story that happened during his NWH/She-Hulk years when he was content before Bullseye killed Foggy.
I hope Swordsman isn't here just to get merced by the vigilante task force and show they're a credible threat.
Tony Dalton is set to appear in two episodes so one more ep to go
He's supposed to show up again in hawkeye s2, so odds are he makes it through this season thankfully.
Kingpin doesn't appear at all despite his otherwise heavy screen presence
honestly refreshing. the kingpin scenes have sucked fucking ass.
Nah, the we built this city scene was actually pretty funny
It's an episode whose entire events take up just a couple hours, it's got no room for a Kingpin subplot as is without overcomplicating a simple premise.
ok, the kingpin scenes have MOSTLY sucked ass. that scene was fun.
Is that even confirmed to be in development? I've heard the idea be thrown around, but that's about it.
The only crossover people want is Spider-Man and we know that aint happening. Kamala sucks
Matthew Lillard will play a new mystery character said to be a villain.
I really hope its Stilt-Man
Next season is literally about Kingpin turning New York into No Man's Land and Spider-Man is going to be just chilling in his next movie.
If it's a villain then I feel it's more likely going to be either The Owl or Mr. Fear, since the new showrunner is all about being as serious and violent as the Netflix show (like if Stilt-Man were to appear, he would more likely be a tacticool version who barely resembles the original character).
Brad Winterbaum confirmed they're looking at S2 and one of the actual good marvel leakers confirmed they're filming soon, and it's gonna be die hard where they have to keep fighting assassins sent to kill them
Everyone is talking about Ms. Marvel but that episode surprisingly had a lot of irish representation, they even had Matt speak in an accent.
they even had Matt speak in an accent
Irish accent should be Matt's default, then he puts on the Americanized voice while Daredevil to throw people off. You know, like The Dark Knight, but he doesn't scream out every word like a retard.
They did The Owl already
They establish and mention several times in S1 that Leland has a son who he has to meet with out of NY. In fact, The Owl was supposed to be the main antagonist along with Typhoid Mary in the original plans for season 4 before Netflix canned the show.
Instead of Ms Marvel crossover it should just be an episode of Matt boning his hot new girlfriend
Hire this man
We still haven't gotten that shot of Matt and Heather making out shirtless from the trailer.
does Daredevil count as capeshit?
You ain't getting The Owl besides the one we got. Besides all the fucker does is float anyway. Mister Fear I could see
They should do Ikari
I'm liking the show alright so far but it's definitely a mess. Kingpin being mayor is getting boring as fuck, episode 5 was filler but I liked it cause I like heist shit.
One thing I miss from the old show that I don't see people bring up is the old voice on his phone ringer. I can still hear it.
FOGGY. FOGGY. FOGGY.
IMO, they should've just took some influence from that edgy clown zoomers love.
Not in terms of gory murders, but in terms of overall personality.
That way you can both have him silent and actually entertaining.
"but you're like, naw"
wow, deep
this show is so bad it crashed out to being an unintentional comedy at this point
why the fuck was the girl randomly wandering around in the train tunnels in the first place?
the fights all suck, every random schmuck seems to be his equal with him just barely edging them out and there isn't even any fucking overarching plot
it's not building towards anything at all
every random schmuck seems to be his equal with him just barely edging them out
Isn't that Daredevil's thing though? Like the fights work because even going against mooks can be a struggle
I'm just some faggot that does MMA casually and lifts weights 3x a week and even I could fight better than he does in this shit
I'm not buying the superhero thing
Impressive they've ruined the fantasy by making him so underpowered
randomly
Speedwatcher?
It's a stereotypical "dumb bitch thinks she's fucking Nancy Drew or some shit decides to investigate the killer's lair with no backup and gets captured" cliche that I'm pretty sure I've seen at least a dozen of times before in crime shows.
Is it retarded? Always and I hate it. But no it wasn't random.
The location that was likely easy to figure out because Muse is a really dumb fucking killer who kidnaps people from a very specific location (a specific subway track) making it easier to identify his hideout, something that was already established in the episode.
Actually let me complain about that for a fucking moment. How Muse wasn't caught earlier is beyond me. Usually fictional serial killers cover enough territory that tracking them down to one specific location is difficult. (and even IRL when they don't, it mostly means serious case of police incompetence than any intelligence or talent on killer's behalf). But I guess Muse is very SPECIAL.
Yeah, but part of that would require an actor showing their face so you could get good, silly expressions. For whatever reason, they decided to make give him a secret identity (which was already revealed by the fucking credits) and that's barely factored into this show.
Muse isn't even that good a villain and I already feel for how badly they fucked him up.
Funny to me how this year we got a show that featured another artistic serial killer who drained blood from his victims and his scenes were a highlight of that season despite him barely being in it.
Disney writers couldn't do even that.
