Why have people seem to have turned on them in the last few years? I don't buy that it's all just down to South Park declining in quality or whatever since it's been largely shit for like 15 years now.
Why have people seem to have turned on them in the last few years...
Because they up and vanished when we wanted more multi-episode seasons with funny president man.
Then the most recent "special" we got was some unfunny shit about Jake Paul
I don't think it's that so much as they're just seen as old and lame now, which is in stark contrast to their image in the late 90s and early-mid 2000s when they were viewed as being cool and above it all.
They got old and their hearts clearly aren't in it anymore. Not surprising after almost 30 fucking years.
It was always terrible and I'm glad general opinion is turning in the right direction.
Eh, the peak era (seasons 5-9) is still pretty much universally loved aside from a couple of dud episodes here and there.
One of the Hanna Barbera oldheads on Toonzone once made a schizorant on how South Park fans thought they were intelligent but are really just bulls being lead by the nose to the slaughter by the men who want to swim in money. Wonder if they'd feel some vindication from seeing the lack of intellect on the South Park subreddit and the Randy Marsh shrine.
You missed the obesity special
South Park has been bad since they attempted season long story arcs. It's clear they're phoning things in because they just don't have a passion for the series anymore and the season arcs and specials are obviously attempts to get some sort of creativity flowing for a series they have grown to just view as a chore. They honestly need to just end South Park and start something new.
It's becoming more obvious that they were always hacks.
They just got lucky from that short, and Comedy Central doesn't seem to care for long-term edgy cartoons outside theirs.
Childhood is idolizing them because they make fun of everything while also making good points
Adulthood is realizing they make fun of everything because they're petty and insecure and they don't actually know much about anything
I still like the non-topical non-political episodes, though, wish they made more of those
it sounded lackluster so i skipped it
Schizos never feel any vindication
it's been largely shit for like 15 years now
not so fast
That's because they were
Seasons 1-3 were kino, I don't care if Matt and Trey don't like them
Trey aged like shit
bump
Why would I want to watch an hour long special about Trey?
Because they up and vanished when we wanted more multi-episode seasons with funny president man
This isn't my idea but just say that Garrison lost the election to Trump as a soft meta joke.
South Park died alongside Chef
They went from soft-Chuds to crypto-liberals.
but crypto liberals support Trump
In recent years they've become more left-leaning and have put out reduced content. This has caused a lot of them people who like South Park for being edgy and "agreeing with them" to turn on the show. Likewise, a lot of people have generally fallen out of love with the show due to its slower release schedule.
Republicucks are upset they've reconsidered some issues and don't stick to their guns regardless of facts
I like the Mysterion episodes
Enough with these questions.
It's over-familiarity, mixed with some latent hatred of some of the gross-out elements of the show.
It's a spiritual sickness, I suppose.
yeah me too
Yeah, they could just have him watching TV in shock and angry that some "impostor" took his place.
imagine marrying a fucking stripper
People didn't like them originally, most people are just too young to know this. All the Gen X'ers liked South Park but thought Matt and Trey were Bi butt buddies. It was around Session 9 when they were really nearing their peak that the Millennials took to them, and now they're petering out due to schedule slip.
This would be funny, cheeky, and credit. I'm not sure if they'll think of it.
They are making a movie with Kendrick Lamar and it will wins Oscars I bet.
why do they always end up lookin like Tom from the Boondocks
True, they'd more likely spend their time and energy on some type of Randy gags or Kyle or Butters being forced to eat poop or Cartman coming up with another oh so wacky scheme.
I haven't watched it in 20 years
I hear it's bad
"Good, because I haven't watched it in 20 years and that means I didn't miss anything"
I mean just look at him...
1-4 was god tier. A lot of people seem to think South Park got bad around season 10/11, but I honestly think it started to go south when they turned Cartman from a bratty child with a little bit of naivety to an evil manipulative psychopath genius during season 5.
Nah that was shit
Dude Cartman eats sugary cereals...Mixed with KFC!!! Ain't that outrageous
Sorry, but was that the best joke they could have came up with?
It's not just the disgusting fast food combo, it's also the fact he eats it while taking a shit at the same time
How does that make it even more funnier? It's lame as fuck
If this was 20 years ago you would be laughing like hell and calling it genius
Bet you thought the Looney Tunes movie was funny too
