Effectively, yeah. That's the case and it got worse and worse over time. Right about now all that's left is people obsessed with David and nothing else. It all goes back to him for these people. It's genuinely baffling how obsessed with him they are when there was so much else going on in the show and he's at best a side character if you're being generous.

I'm always shocked by how limited hilda is, compared to toh, hilda has a dedicated fanbase but isn't constantly getting fanart or theories or new fanfics.

Also yeah wish we got more marra's like what happened to the leader marra, also kaisa would have easily fit into a ep of s3 but alas she was kind of kept at arms length

He was effectively the only boy that could be drawn so he was the easy self insert bait. And the people who obsess over Anon Babble are very loud at all times. But even that aside you can't deny there's nothing left in the threads but David obsession and it didn't used to be like that.

S3 had 5 more episodes to start with but Netflix told them to cut them out. Not because of the content just because they wanted a shorter season. People guess that they were Trollberg eps about Kaisa and Marra and Louise, but nothing official leaked about them yet.
I disagree partially, but oh well. Maybe I just remember the old threads differently. I remember there used to be a lot more gorey and gross korean stuff posted, and noone liked David x anyone but Kaisa and the Marra. Also the threads rarely ever made it to 400, they were much slower.

Think about it this way anon. Back when Hilda was airing most people drawing competent fan art were adult fans on sites like this or other art aggregate places. Since the show isn't airing anymore alot of the discussion that persists who watched the show as it was airing as a kid.
A girl who watched the show when if first came out who was let's say around the age of 8 to 12 is now 15 to 19. The kind of fan content created by someone who got into a series as a kid is quite different from one who got into it as a late teen or mentally stunted adult. "Wouldn't it be cool if David fucked Marra, Kaisa and Hilda's mom" is something a adult male viewer would say because they find Anon Babble hot while "Wouldn't it be cool it David and Hilda cuddle and then kissed a little he held her in his arms" is something you'd say if you watched Hilda as a kid and say yourself in her and then got a crush on David cause he was nice.
I know this is not always the case but this feels like the general reason for the direction we've been seeing.
