Studios just do reshoots and piss it away then having a decent script from the get go and it ends up being $150-400M for no reason. Feel like they should've done this a long time ago. Like, you barely get money from Chinese box office to begin with. Just 20-25%. That's just a bad deal to begin with. Also, there was an obvious shift where they liked Hollywood blockbusters and then they started moving towards supporting their own home grown movies instead. The outcome was obvious but people are just too stuck in their ways to pivot until they are forced into it. This was easy to see happen just like how Snow White would bomb at the box office.
