Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Next Mutation

Also which pre-2003 TMNT pitch would have been the best?

Before creating the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show, Mirage Studios pitched an idea to Warner Bros. for a new TMNT cartoon series that would have either aired on Kids WB! or Cartoon Network in 2001. Warner Bros. passed on the show, making way for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 series) on the Fox Box.

Nah. If the writing remained the same, animated or not.

on the Hallmark Channel

Yeah, makes total sense. Sarcasm.

I LOVE BEING A TURTLE!!

COWABUNGA!!

I don't think so the original TMNT cartoon became real unpopular with viewers as it went on. By the time of Next Mutation a cartoon of TMNT wouldn't have impressed anyone. People simply wouldn't be into TMNT anymore. And the only reason the 2003 cartoon garnered its audience was being a radical departure from the silly turtles.

That's the thing that kills Next Mutation the turtles are not only silly but they are exaggeratedly silly. So it wouldn't have helped.

The only thing people liked out of Next Mutation is Venus. For better or worse she was the only stand out thing in that whole series. Real shame that she's a forbidden character and that only the worst people are allowed to write her in real bad media like IDW TMNT.

I love this 90s as fuck designs

If the turtles saw what became of the Jews after founding Israel they would apologize to Hitler.

Got a better question, how come this brand is failing so much lately? Not even Transformers is failing with the same brutality.

What's most amusing is that with today's technology you can do a real sweet CG series if you put the money in, but no one at Viacom wants to put the shekels. And they won't hire people who are normal, only Tumblr Freaks.

Is it? The Seth movie was a hit, a sequel is coming, the toys are doing...decently, I guess, and the comic is a best seller.

That movie is a failure. Making double its budget and then some is not exactly a success and you have to remember the bad word of mouth so its sequel will perform badly most likely.

Edgy

How do I put this... It would have been... Barely better.

The show sucks for reasons beyond the limits of live-action. Terrible characters, nonsensical stories, lame jokes, etc. It's true that it Saban thinking they had the talent to make a Toku show without just doing reshoots for existing shows is likely what caused this thing to fail as hard as it did, but I can't say the problems all stemmed from there.

And the "fifth turtle" concept sucks inherently. Making another ninja turtle is the lamest idea ever.

Anon, even if YOU didn't like it that is a straight up lie. It got an A cinemascore which is really high for a kids movie and a 90% audience score on RT - again, very high for a kids movie. These metrics are audience response, not even critics response (which was even higher). Its gotten a cartoon series (with a 2nd season on the way) and a sequel movie. Between its BO and toy sales it must have been profitable vs something like Transformers One which is not getting a sequel.

As much as you and other on Anon Babble may have hated it, your opinion does not reflect the wider response to the film.

Making another ninja turtle is the lamest idea ever.

Unless its Slash.

They're trying too hard to mix it up with recent iterations. Busting shit out too quickly isn't helping either. Rise came out too close to 12 ending and the magic stuff just never really worked despite how cool bits of it may of been. The new movie was just too silly on top of being mediocre along with bad press from the April shit and the turtles sounding too young. Kind of weird we haven't gotten a version that resembles the original comics in style. Seems like fans would love that

Nah, he's pretty lame too.

Bite your tongue.
.......
Okay, the 2012 version is kinda lame. But every other one is great.

Nah, Palm-tree fetishism is cringe.

Getting tired of the complaints over having a fifth turtle. Venus has her unique quirk her focus on magical mysticism.

Absolutely. The image makes me want to watch it.

Is Raph going to punch Netanyehu next?

The biggest problem with the show was lack of effort not Venus.

And yet, no one showed up to watch Tales of the TMNT. There's still old merch clogging up shelves. There's zero hype or talk about where the movies might go or how they might expand it. All the good metrics in the world don't amount to shit when no one actually cares.

Looks like bishop was almost prototyped in TNM

This and the unmade TMNT 4 has some really edgy 90s concept art

To make the Fifth Turtle idea work, they'd need a dense, character-driven storyline that really endears the audience to a new character being brought into the core cast, and then fully develop and ingratiate that character to the audience. Never works quite the way they expect because anyone working on any TMNT property is spoiled by how easy it is to instantly establish the personalities of characters that have been popular for 4 decades.

All this Nazi punching is just try hard shit from faggots with no actual stones themselves.

It had nothing to do with the medium, it everything to do with the choices in the writing room. The show was written horribly.

Or tokka, mutant turtle, ninja is debatable

As one of the likely 10 people (tops) who like Next Mutation, I must say the show would have lost part of its uniqueness if it wasn't also an attempt at original Western Tokusatsu using TMNT.
