is there a legit reason for why black people think Goofy is black too? is it his black fur? if yes then why don't they think Mickey or Pete are black? how do they explain powerline then? he is not only based off a black man he has actual black skin
Is there a legit reason for why black people think Goofy is black too? is it his black fur...
This is the first I'm ever hearing of someone thinking that Goofy is black-coded. We've seen the dog-styled animals with brown skin. They treat the flesh tones exactly the way they would for any human character. It's not like Doug where you assume the green character is supposed to be black on context clues.
Because he slays pussy in every universe but one.
codedfags have genuine brain damage
Threads like these genuinely feel AI-generated with how nonsensical they are
no they dont
No, there's never a valid reason why blacks think a character is black, they will often disregard actual black characters and latch to better more popular characters that are brown skinned and claim they are black.
Same reason people think characters are straight
what
It's from "A Goofy Movie" and his relationship with his son. Apparently the movie supposedly borrowed a bit from black American culture, and Max and Goofy come off as black-coded, as another anon said. It's not necessarily about the looks of the characters. I don't have an opinion of groups "claiming" animated non-human or anthropomorphic characters as members of their racial or ethnic groups but I find it funny that people argue against it or find it difficult to process, when it comes to black Americans in particular. Non-black groups aren't convinced unless the characters are bordering on offensive, speaking in jive, heavy ebonics, acting like a gangster rapper, or talking like an old southern slave. Even though they mostly interact with black Americans that speak with general American accents and dialect.
yeah dude watch this
youtube.com
Goofy being black used to be more of a racist kinda thing, because he is tall, lanky, literally black with a light mouth, and acts retarded
Surprised apparently black people are running with this now since it's not flattering
They can't be black coded because goofy is still around for his son and doesn't have multiple criminal records and max doesn't have a bunch of half siblings.
the reason cartoon characters have white gloves is b/c they're based off of minstrel shows
They could take a road trip without cops pulling them aside for looking goofy.
so a black guy drew a cartoon with goofy as black what is this suppose to prove?
goofy is taking hos boy fishing theres nothing remotely black about that. the only thing black about the entire movie is powerline and max listing to hiphop which a lot of white kid did and do
I think the consensus is more that "A Goofy Movie" is a "black movie" because its soundtrack capitalizes on a lot of black culture trends from the 90s. Powerline is very black, but I never really got the argument for Goofy or Max.
Goofy is a stereotypical white dad in the movie. He likes fishing, old fashioned roadside attractions, camping, and generally fits the "goofy white guy dad" archetype.
Max is likewise a typical 90s skateboarding white boy whose exposure to black culture is mostly through whatever the 90s threw at him.
the entire episode is fake alt-history from the show Atlanta, which is where the whole "Goofy is black/Goody movie is a black movie" got popularized from recently.
There's one instance of a disney animator likening goofy to a "good natured colored boy" or something like that from the 30's, but that wasn't in place by the 90's, but the joke runs on that. And Donald Glover as a suburban black guy relating to a Goofy movie(which of course, you can point out relates more to a general suburban audience and not black suburbanites in particular)
Black goofs exist by Goofy is not one of them. He's based off some white country boy
Black people think every character is them. It's the reason they are huge Dragonball & Naruto fags
WE WUZ GOOFS N SHEEEIT
fuck off
I very much believe that Anon Babble is one of the most botted boards these days, it feels like a lot of literal fake people are just making up shit with zero tangible source and the thread is plunged into some kind of alternate reality.
nobody gives a shit about Anon Babble dumbass it holds not power. the world is just uneducated and is bad with grammer and spelling
It's because of twitter
Thought he was supposed to be a hillybilly parody.
Powerline was like a Michael Jackson expy, who in the early 90s was just kind of the default idea of "iconic pop star" still, had the movie been made a handful of years later it would have been like a Backstreet Boys parody or Britney Spears.
Ironic thing about that, black people (like from black communities, aka the hood) tend to have a problem with that version of MJ and call it the "white peoples Michael Jackson" and act like elitists over his earlier recordings
He was more or less a yokel parody when he was first introduced, but as the decades when on, Disney gave Goofy most of Mickey's "Joe Everyman" traits. It was the right decision desu.
For lack of a better term, I do notice there is a disconnect between "white blacks" which are usually also your typical "black nerd", and the "black community". These types often will rally against things said about the black community, even though they don't come from it. I'm from Detroit and even though I'm not black and very much not involved in that culture, I know a lot about it because I was just around it, moreso than some actual black people who grew up in more white communities than me etc. Point is, these types tend to reject what actually is "black culture" and try to find other things to latch onto and claim as their own......whether it's oddly seeing themselves in certain cartoons, or cultures that aren't theirs such as claiming Egyptian or Middle Eastern, East Asian, etc cultural identities, blah blah. It's the person who will be offended if you say black people don't like rock music.....they don't realize that they're the minority of black people who did, not representative of their own races culture as a whole
Its because of this quote
"Think of the Goof as a composite of an everlasting optimist, a gullible Good Samaritan, a half-wit, a shiftless, good-natured colored boy, and a hick..." - Art Babbitt
"shiftless good natured colored boy" isnt exactly complimentary but people are so allergic to race being a part of the characters origin that its not surprising they deny it, I'm half sure most people think the Atlanta episode made it up entirely
if anything I thought duck people in that universe were considered black people while the dog people are white. and the pigs being asian
Huh, the ducks are clearly the whitest, mickey is some ambiguous thing, they'd probably make him Jewish these days or something, Goofs black
Jewish guy hires black guy while discarding other potential candidates
Every single time
oy vey..but he sent a flip book
I saw it. I was making flipbook animations like that when I was in 5th grade. Now where's my animation job?
Anon, the ducks are clearly the whites here. Look at Scrooge.
Checked & trips of truth
The ducks represent white folks
Mickey is based off a Jew
The same reason why this "people" with mental illness, think a tan or dark skin anime character is also black like some of them. Some of them wish Nagatoro is a black girl.
That's a myth. Mickey didn't have gloves in his earliest appearances. The gloves were added because you couldn't tell where his hands and fingers were when they had a black object behind them.
Never heard that, sounds retarded. It was for practical visibility purposes.
Goofy's imbecilic voice is misinterpreted as (now-obsolete) ebonics. It's that simple.
In other words, this .
Yeah bro, I'm sure Max would have done a Britney number and become super popular at his school for it in 1998.
I wasn't getting enough attention in the other thread, I need to start my OWN!
No you fuckhead that's not how Anon Babble works
I wonder why can you leave black people to have Goofy. He's a retard and based on minstrel shows. Worse for them
It's not like Doug where you assume the green character is supposed to be black on context clues.
The BLUE character is supposed to be black
Roger, the green character is white trash
I do not know what country bumpkin yokels sounded like therefore he's a negro
that's not how Anon Babble works
Evidently it is since this thread got traction
This makes sense in my head therefore it's a fact!
Necessary contrast in black and white cartoons.
do they just ignore the part where he also says hick? when people talk about hicks everyone automatically thinks of White men. its like Art Babbitt is giving examples of what type of man(dog) goofy is
they are all White
imagine being this paranoid
Imagine not being able to comprehend multiple anons making a thread on a beloved character who recently just got a documentary
seriously just imagine it.
No you fuckhead that's not how Anon Babble works
btw that is exactly how Anon Babble works
Everything about him is based on minstrel shows. His posture, his way of walk, his white gloves.
Do you have any proof of this?
