They don't get any money from this, what's happening is that scrapers for AI companies aggressively download data from independent sites, so much so that they can DDOS or double the hosting costs for these sites. They're probably getting hit pretty hard and can't afford to let users load hundreds of pages at once without verification that they're human.

If you're manually performing any repetitive task, you should write a script to do it for you. If you've never done anything with code it probably sounds like some hacker shit, but python is made to be super user friendly.
I'm not a software engineer by any stretch of the imagination, but having rudimentary coding skills is super handy and makes your life a lot fucking easier if you deal with computers on a regular basis (which describes basically everyone these days).

Those are for the most part only good for recent releases and you're lucky if you go back in the archives to find something and the file is still hosted

what if the download link has died in the time between when it was uploaded and when I learned about it
what if I don't wanna spend 5 threads begging for a working link because the people doing the work have to prioritize newer releases over older ones
what if the comic I wanna read is so obscure that nobody even has a download except to rip it back off readcomic, which they can't even do anymore because they block traffic to the new image hosting website?
even if you use the Network tab on the console to intercept the image URL, it leads to a 404 page.
