Villain is evil.....Because he's short and wants a wife

Villain is evil.....Because he's short and wants a wife.

What did Shrek mean by this???

No, he's evil because he's a tyranical nobleman who oppresses and terrorizes others for his own fragile ego.

Source?

shut up farquaad

Shrek (2001)

"Short men" is an oxymoron because short men aren't actually men at all.

He didn't want a wife, he wanted to be king. The wife thing is incidental.

He was based off michael eisner as part of Katzenberg's revenge against disney.

Revenge that worked extremely well since shrek destroyed disney's old formula making every damzel in distress thrope obsolete.

Seethe

short men aren't men at all

The average roman 5'6" soldier says hi.

Gets swallowed alive and melted in stomach acid.

Dreamworks parodied everything Disney including its vore fetish awakenings.

he did nothing wrong

Fix.

Villain is evil because he's -headcanon-

5’6 isn’t short. Actual shortness starts at 5’3.

Its (you)

Let me tell you that I'm insecure about my height the post.

Keep moving those goalposts, manlet.

He killed mama bear anon

Villain is evil.....Because he's short and wants a wife.

What did Megamind mean by this???

the more life changes, the more it stays the same

Disney kinda got Katzenberg back for that a few years later.

Yes, because pixar was the only competent studio and was bringing a shitton of innovation, Eisner got btfo completely out of position, which is enough for katzenberg.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created.

Gets called in for a one-on-one meeting with his boss

Talks back and doesn't pay attention while giving a vague excuse for leaving in the middle of work

Blames his boss for the mugger getting away when he was heading for the stairs instead of leaping out the window

Nearly kills a man and could have killed multiple people in a fit of rage

Insuranceman was a scumbag but he literally did nothing wrong

I thought it was because he's the product of one of the dwarves knocking up Snow White

Short people got no reason to live.

Short people are evil because they're located closer to hell.

Both have the girl who goes for the more ugly guy over the more normal but slightly creepy guy

also post more short chads.

Wolverine

He's evil because he was based on Michael Eisner, who the producer of Shrek Jeffrey Katzenberg had a long standing rivalry with after he left disney. There was bad blood between them for years.

Did you miss the part where he ethnically cleansed his kingdom by relocating all fantasy creatures to a swamp?

Which they referenced again in the new Goofy Movie Documentary.

Which was also a commentary on how Katzenberg felt Eisner was handling the disney brand.

Wasn't it an Eisner call to stop adapting fairy tales and to dip into literature and history? Yeah, if I made my career on the Disney Renaissance I'd be pissed off too.

No way, I just asked someone else something alluding to that.

Farquad choosing to remove all the fairytale creatures to a swamp to make his kingdom perfect is a commentary on disney as a company that is sadly still very relevant.

Start your entire studio by making a series of films taking the piss out of fairytales

Save animation by unironically making a better fairytale movie that disney can curently make

throw away that goodwill by making fun of fairytales again.

Even if Wells hadn't died. The trend was Disney was going more corporate and politically correct every year.
It would have just delayed the inevitable.

Sure, from the perspective of a civilian. Civvies don't get involved in policework and try to stay out of trouble. What would he reasonably be able to do if Bob convinced him to go intervene? The best they could do is call the cops.
It's just a poor fit of a job for Bob, who is a man who prefers fieldwork instead of deskwork. He'd probably be happier as a policeman or fireman, where he can use his talents, even as a non-super, to improve the lives of other people.

Deserved it

Rich and powerful

Wants to become king

Gets cucked by a literal ogre who's his underling

Heavily implied it's because of his height, especially when he dismounts off of the horse and she's taken aback

When will the short kings catch a break!

So you can't back up those claims, got it!

Not even human. More like bloody tumors shat out of Satan’s anus.

Fuck off tripfag. You’re right but no one cares.

nobody actually explained how he became King. Is his dukedom part of the Fiona's families kingdom? If he declares himself king does he go to war with them? Or do they let him go? This isn't explained. Or is it a totally separate state and he wants to become a king so needs a wife? That seems oddly specific.

PLOT HOLES.

Did you skipped the first 15 min of the movie where he captured magical beings and gave them the good old uncle adolf threatment just to find snow white mirror?

Fairy tale logic and the magic mirror was just trying to push his buttons

Is his dukedom part of the Fiona's families kingdom?

If it's based on medieval Europe, whether a particular state was a kingdom, principality or duchy depended mainly on how low some previous ruler's balls swung and how able he was to crush anyone who said he wasn't that. And then once these things have been that way for a while, it's simply tradition.
These things were argued over for over a thousand years.

Right, exactly. It wasn't made clear. I know they never planned a second film with expanded stuff, but all they needed to do was

I want to rule a kingdom

You need to be a king for that, you're a duke!

Well I'll just take somebody else's crown! Like *slams dagger on a map* Far Far Away (or whatever)

Orrrr, marry a princess and declare yourself king!

Or something like that.

Yeah I got that, just a little bit of dialogue and a map would have helped. Simply to show where Shrek lay in the grand scheme. It was his swamp, but Farquad managed to do what he wanted with it. Was it part of his land? Or not? If it wasn't then whatever.. And what happened when he died? Did somebody else take over the land? Did some claimant to the duchy arrive?

Like it doesn't need to be explained out or anything, obviously, but I always wondered where Shrek's swamp lay and what actual right he had to send all the creatures there.

Well, nobody really considered him evil, he's an unlikeable little turd.
He only wants a wife so he can become king, also “Some of you may die, but that’s a sacrifice that I’m willing to make”.

His personality is the bigger problem, it's just that his height is a detractor which makes him even more unlikeable. If he was well meaning and really did want a wife for reasons other than personal gain, I'm sure he wouldn't have gotten as raw of a deal as he eventually did.

Ah so you're 5’4

5'6 is below average, that means short.
