ITT: embarrassing synergy

OMD happened a decade too early.

what's wrong with this panel?

The upper and lower body were drawn independently with references that were pointed in different directions. The way the torso is situated should have the legs facing the reader directly, but instead it's got her shifted slightly to her left. It looks unnatural as a result.

But anon... people can turn their torsos independently of their hips/legs. It's entirely possible to stand like her, though it's not particularly comfortable (I just tried it)

it looks like those poorly made MCU full body renders slapped together in photoshop

I challenge anybody to top this NOTHING can top this. Coming out of nowhere with Nick Fury having a long-lost black son and making him lose an eye just to be black Nick Fury while unceremoniously making the original an obscure villain to retire him just to have a black nick fury like the MCU

Anyone got the GotG before and after pic?

Someone have the comic about that pointing out how retarded the story is?

For me it's preemptive synergy, when the comics are made movie-friendly in advance

Carol, Falcon Cap, Jane Thor, the New 52

I guess that and the whole of Disney-era Marvel cartoons

I am lost here, do you mean synergy as characters getting stupid power ups from a team-mate or when storylines become promotional vehicles in very jarring ways?
Because the end of Dark Knights Death Metal was incredibly stupid.

WW saves everyone from Doctor BatKekhattan because WW 1984 was coming out

How, why?
That is how you wrap up Snyder entire run? Fucking hell...

Ask and ye shall receive

I can't. And they just keep doubling down on it. Fury had to share half of his anniversary special with his retard son, then they also used it as a means to write him out of any story even more than he had previously

I always cringe when all of the heroes are grouped together on a spread/splash page like this. It reminds me that comics are made for children and not sophisticated literati like moi

Ok.

For me it's any time Barry is in a JL story acting more like if not entirely like Wally since that's who was in the JLU cartoon.

written and produced by Rian Johnson

That comic was going to be out the same year as the Black Adam movie, so the story was resolved with everyone getting a Black Adam power-up.

And then at the end Black Adam looks more like The Rock

That's because you're a manchild pretending to be mature

Marvel has always been ashamed of being a comcibook company and always wants to larp as Hollywood.

The only synergy with the movie is the stupid asterisk
pic related was the true shameless MCU-tie in

unceremoniously making the original an obscure villain

They really went that far with it?

What makes this even worse is that Black Fury is objectively boring shit in both the MCU and the comics, they literally fell for the snakes on the plane meme

The one thing Disney should have been good for Marvel is making cartoons, how can they fuck it up so badly

I'm actually DC did such laughable blatant synergy in Dark Crisis because under DiDio they generally avoided it outside of kinda Suicide Squad and Arrow.

Now that I think about it, the Waller stuff in Dawn of DC was also likely meant to be synergy. It's just that Waller got internally delayed to hell.

Wait, so shouldn't Nick Fury Jr. be mixed?

DC was/is actually planning to do a lot of synergy with the DCU, but James Gunn keeps picking projects out of left field like Clayface and Sgt Rock (that are basically impossible to synergize), while projects such as The Authority, TBATB, Swamp Thing, Waller or Booster Gold keep getting delayed/are stuck.

They are just doing instead a million Superman books and a bunch of GL books because they have no real idea what Gunn will do.

Just to prove how they don't know: They basically spent all of 2023 pushing the Titans just because Nightwing had high sales. Then in 2024 they decided to end the push. Only for the trades to leak that they are doing a Teen Titans movie and will likely come out earlier than a lot of the stuff they announced for the DCU back in 2023.

Thank god they haven't figured out how to do it with Aunt May

Uh, sure, thank God comic writers haven't figured out how to make Aunt May look only 30 years older than whatever age they want Peter to be.

I BROKE FREE

I FELL DOWN A BIG HOLE

Never gets old.

"I bonred your mom. Then I split." sounds totally in-character for the original Nick Fury.
But treating SHIELD like a hereditary fief his bastard can inherit by losing an eye is retarded.

It's even worse. Fury is black in the movies because he's black in the Ultimates and he's black in the Ultimates because Millar basically treated Ultimates like it was a movie and "cast" the characters. So because Millar told Hitch to draw Samuel L. Jackson the movies copied the comic and then the comics which copied the movies but not really since it's not the same guy because they got rid of the guy who was the basis for the other guy they're copying through a synergistic ouroboros.

To be fair, I don't think he takes over as director, I think they've just got him as an agent going on missions and stuff, making the movie synergy even more superficial

It's more retarded because they were all literally just in a mosh pit of a brawl with the villains then this happened and they all took the time to group pose. Shit came out dumb. Also Red Hood has guns again

Take out Black Widow and Shang-Chi and I would read this

Where's the synergy?
When was this run

There's that and then there's "likely movie pitches" that some storylines give off. Earth One from DC and a lot of 2000s runs like Brubaker's cap read like this to me
