Drones are fucking weird. Alot of cartoons just assume drones are a huge part of modern life and a regular thing in the modern world. They aren't. I've never seen a delivery drone in my life. Years ago abunch of cartoons parodies drones because they seemed like they were gonna become a thing but they never did, and then cartoons just never stopped parodying drones. They set up a status quo world where drones actually were a regular common thing and then never updated their worldview afterward. it's like brain transplants. Alot of cartoons and shit assume brain transplants are a regular thing that happens, when really they were a possibility that COULD happen, thus they got parodied alot, thus they became part of the perceived "real world" that cartoons riff on even though they don't actually happen. Does that make sense? I just find all the drone-delivery in shit weird when it isn't actually a thing in the real world.

I have been saying this for years with anvils and pianos. Even in the 60s anvils and pianos were unsual in day to day life, yet they were used all the time in cartoons. By the time the 70s and 80s rolled in it was even more jarring to see them so prominently, and yet today you still sometimes see them here and there in cartoons.
