Will he ever revisit Pfish and Chip? 30th anniversary is soon.
Shaking over what? A washed up hack? We all know Butch needed Stephen Silver.
Doesn't he already have a studio that he's been making Christian-based Flash cartoons with?
How long until people start saying "actually, i always loved the disney channel/etc, indie animation is unprofessional and low quality"?
OAXIS was a scam, whoever gave him the money was a retard.
The future of animation is indie
NOOOOO not like that
The majority of it are just adult cartoons anyways, Butch did something smart for once and thought that kids watch Youtube
didn’t he already try this before?
DOA
Which one, Noog Network, or Oaxis?
Butch tried this before it was "cool" to be indie, and gave us absolute beloved, fresh cartoon classics like Uncle Duck.
youtube.com
Bros, are you ready for more modern, fresh cartoon hits like this?
He really should have done this back in 2007ish when he had multiple Nicktoons in production.
Butch Hartman's reputation is at an all-time low. The fact he thinks naming a new studio after himself is peak narcissism.
holy shit that was great
The studio’s privately-funded development slate also includes “Little Harps,” set at a Guardian Angel school that prepares new recruits to help kids on earth
So here's the overtly Christian one, the one that's probably going to be the funniest.
Dragon Drive-Thru,” which follows a trio of dragons who run a fast-food stand in a medieval town
Yep, that sounds like a Butch idea alright. No real hook, just a trio of wackies in a funny setting
and “Family Fusion,” whose logline asks, “Can two super-science families live next door to each other without destroying the neighborhood?”
Didn't Butch make a "pilot" for this one? I feel like he did this before.
Good for him. I dislike Butch but I welcome anyone who is willing to compete with the big companies. I wish him success as long as he isn't shitting on anyone. Dunno why GLITCH would be shaking tho, they're successful in their own right
Why is that "faith-based kids entertainment" always has to equate to VeggieTales-tier stuff and never something like Secret of NIHM? I'm not talking about the visual quality, but the script. Even if you're raising your kid on biblical values, that doesn't mean the stories need to be stripped of anything evil. That's the whole point. Good triumphing over evil.
always has to equate to VeggieTales-tier stuff
But VeggieTales is good, anon. It's an outlier.
Most "faith-based kids entertainment" is bottom-f-the-barrel shit made by the most humorless, anti-fun people around. I'm not even anti-Christian, it's just that none of the ones that care this much about their faith are ever funny and are deeply terrified of anything that makes for an entertaining story.
I'm excited for this.
set at a Guardian Angel school that prepares new recruits to help kids on earth
So, Christian FOP?
OY VEY, it was really (((Stephen Silver))) who was pulling all the strings and did everything good!
This is one of the dumbest anti-Butch rumors that persists today. Even Saberspark I think regurgitated it. He designed some prop objects for FOP and maybe a handful of Danny Phantom character designs. If anything George Goodchild deserves more credit (since he designed the waifus like Tootie that Anon Babble actually goons to) but since he isn't part of the tribe it doesn't seem like he gets to have other people's work grafted onto his resume in order to stick it to uppity goyim.
But VeggieTales is still hyper-geared towards pre-schoolers and doesn't have much value to an older audience outside of a few memes and a few catchy songs. It's still a very safe, very inoffensive show.
Like, compare the tension between something happening in American Tail and the tension of something happening in VeggieTales. That's kind of what I mean by so much of faith-based stuff just feels empty of anything dark or scary.
I guess to rewrite my post: Why does all faith-based entertainment only feel like it's for 6 year olds? What about 9 year olds, 12 year olds? Hell, even teenagers might find something like House of David entertaining. More of that should be made and less of God's Not Dead, which just feels corny and preachy.
So he got blacklisted
Why does the mere mention of Christendom rile these people up? Are they really quadrupling down on the "LGBT in kids shows" shit?
More like he aged out and his shows stopped being profitable.
I truly genuinely don't think Nick had anything against his Christian beliefs or anything he did, it's just that each new show Butch made got less and less viewership and brought less in to the network.
FOP was a massive hit, Danny Phantom was extremely popular but still less than FOP, Tuff Puppy did modestly well but never reached the heights Nick likely wanted, and Bunsen is a Beast was un unmitigated failure on all fronts.
Nick got what they wanted out of him, and decided they didn't need him anymore, because for all of these networks it's easier and cheaper for them to exploit new, "starving" artists than continue to pay a seasoned veteran.
Also, what exactly did Butch ever do that was "Anti-LGBTBBQ" ??? Because Cupid had a stereotypical fag voice?
I guess they're just flat out making shit up about Butch at this point. Anything to link him to Cheeto Benito and Adolf Bibiler
Why are you on reddit?
....Which one of these salt minees was you?
It’s cause Butch never said Oaxis was going to be a Christian streaming service until after the Kickstarter had ended, so people are skeptical any time he talks about faith now. Also, he’s one of those weird Christians who has talked about “healing” autism through prayer
also its easier to salt mine on reddit, dont need an account
Imagine spamming screenshots you personally took on Reddit and thinking you're the winner here.
Why do people who are being manipulated by evil hate Jesus Christ and want his influence to go away?
Wow, yeah, it's a mystery.
None of them, because I don't post ragebait screenshots from Plebbit on Anon Babble, neither do I concern myself with the opinions of redditors. Go back
Oh yeah, he was definitely caught in one of those screencaps.
wow you are so high and mighty and le above it all and im totally falling for your misdirection that you arent from reddit, midwit
Who the fuck do you think you are, nigger? Reddit salt mining has always been a thing. Quit acting like you actually have a stake in here of something to lose.
guy who went to reddit and posted screenshots from reddit, completely unprompted
is trying to insult and accuse another anon of being a redditor
On topic, did Butch's christian cartoon ever come out? The one based on the bible he published?
I know the Garden technically came out but I don’t know if that’s the one you’re talking about
I would have expected Tom Bankroft to do this first. He has been leaning in this same direction for a while now.
Because no modern christian is going to have things like mouse wizards in their stuff. Early 80s churchy types and early 90s churchy types are two completely different animals.
Butch is a grifter. He leans on Evangelical Christianity because it cares more about message than quality. So he can put out shit and as long as it aligns with their values they'll eat it up. He uses nostalgia baiting and teasing Danny Phantom Reboots and lore to get Nostalgia fag money from zoomers.
Who the fuck do you think you are, nigger?
Someone who doesn't fall for obvious ragebait
I wonder if everything will be animated in cheap flash like the last season of FOP
The "indie is the future" crowd when it's Christian-based cartoons
Yes yes. Butch is le grifter. His followers are le cult. His skin is le orange. Where have I heard this all before...
No one brought up the orange guy but you. TDS
People are against it because it’s Butch Hartman, not because it’s Christian
Why do you keep bringing up politics? This is Anon Babble, not Anon Babble
So let me guess, you were the guy kvetching a couple a minutes ago about the "ragebait" that disproves literally every fucking thing you just said?
Not to sound like a tradcath but it's because of American Protestantism and how heavily influenced by Luther it is even compared to other forms of protestantism.
Luther was a lot like Marcion in that he thought that all the stories in the bible except for the stuff directly related to salvation was barely worth shit. It's why Marcion took the Sermon on the Plain, the prodigal son, and the good Samaritan out of his redaction of Luke. Luther even said that Moses, Mark, Matthew, and Luke didn't mean shit compared to Paul and John which are the least narrative of philosophy focused bits of the Christian canon.
When you have that kind of outlook the stories lose all value besides the fact that they point to Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection. Adding deep emotional stakes or any meaning besides vague morals and remember you're saved takes away from the things they're most concerned about.
Anon, I have no idea what you’re talking about, I just got here
So am I supposed to rage at these? Because that is kind of what it looks like they are doing already.
And why bother, years of social media has proven that these types will only ever hold that exact same conversation anyway. The only topic they have is
Woe is me everybody hates me, even the people that say they don't hate me probably hate me!
I've heard it all before, and they are likely having the same convo but about someone else right now. Why bother at this point?
Luther made it so Protestants, who by and large don’t agree that the gospels aren’t worth shit, refuse to have fun in children’s media
What the actual fuck are you talking about?
Since the mid 80s American protestanism is heavily influenced by televangelists. Billy Graham, Pat Robertson, and Jimmy Swaggert who set up the late 80s-early 90s Focus on the Family group with James Dobson created what is modern American Protestantism.
Adding deep emotional stakes or any meaning besides vague morals and remember you're saved takes away from the things they're most concerned about.
Protestants hate Bible stories that have emotion in them
Except that's complete horseshit. You're assigning beliefs to a group you don't agree with and then using those assigned beliefs as a reason to blame them for the poor quality of children's media.
Catholics would never allow this to happen, we'd make incredibly emotional stories
Catholic masses are infamously rowdy and emotional.
with James Dobson
Of course it was a Dobson...
American protestanism is heavily influenced by televangelists.
No, televangelist Protestantism is influenced by televangelists. It might as well be a different branch of Christianity entirely considering how much scripture gets twisted into a more monetizable religion, a la Catholicism.
a la Catholicism
pre-reformation Catholicism*
selling indulgences and all that
shaking from laughter
Butch is a hack and the only reason his projects took off is because the crew working on it made it possible. its known that he barely did any work.
because politics is in everything? the fuck are you 5?? also anons comment is in context. he does run a weird christian cult
Has anyone noticed we've been getting a lot of religious threads on Anon Babble in the last few weeks?
I was talking about him bringing up Trump out of nowhere because someone said Butch was in a cult
I can’t say for sure because I mostly stay in TADC and Spider-Man threads, but it wouldn’t surprise me. I usually stay off Anon Babble during the middle of the day because Anon Babblepol/ likes to take over during that time
