Has better women.

I like how everyone has cool capes.

They got Superman.

DC feels more fantastical than Marvel.

DC is good until you read any F4 book and get vibes that are missing from the brand.

They produced more comics that I like than Marvel.

DC characters feel more independent.

Better characters, better stories, better edge

Silver and Bronze age Marvel used to have a good sense of awe. And a lot of the cosmic stuff works too but a lot of post 2000s has this weird dual problem where they not only erased a lot of their characters outside lives but also really downplayed the fantastical nature of it to make things grounded.

Marvel is too tame.
Captain America had to apologize for fighting commies in the 50s and Spider-Man had to feel bad about arguing with civil rights protestors once.

any F4 book

You sure about that?

reading comics is for nerds

So is going on Anon Babble.

Marvel sometimes feels a bit too cohesive, I like that the DC universe feels like a weird agglomeration of different genres and eras.

It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I agree, I like how DC is this giant patchwork of wildly different ideas.

Because it's set in a fictional world, Stan Lee is a retard.
Setting things in New York makes you ask questions like "Why didn't the Avengers stop 9/11?", you don't have that problem with fictional cities.

I'm fairly certain Stan Lee wasn't capable of predicting 9/11 way back in the 1960s.

More and better variety.

DC has Green Lantern

Most F4 books outside of Slott are the perfect example of everything that's missing from DC when in comparison to Marvel.

I read Alan Moore’s run on Swamp Thing and he made it seem like the DC universe was cooler than it really was

I don't. DC certainly has higher highs, but overall I liked Marvel way more. It's why Marvel being a dumpster fire kinda still bums me out, but DC being a dumpster fire doesn't really bother me much at all.

I like how for a long while it was pure sci-fi escapism and concepts over pure characterization. Marvel books tended to focus on obstacles dealing with a character's personality or hang-ups while DC did stuff like "what happens if Superman has to fight a villain who drains his energy and grows stronger? What does he do to get out of this?" Or "what if there is a planet that is the complete opposite of what we know?"

You're talking about the Marvel universe, right? I don't care about their respective universes because they're both shit. I just like their good comics.
Besides, Waid and North's runs are also terrible.

This site has a cuck fetish that's why.

George Perez wrote this.

Better characters, more variety, more interesting stories and events, better mythology and history, etc. Pre-New 52 anyway

Better comics.

I just love the old-fashioned vibe of DC. Basically I feel like DC is more pulp than Marvel.

Because DC has more self-contained comic runs. Every time I pick up a Marvel comic, it tells me that I should be reading a different comic to understand what's happening.

DC has plastic man

Anon you’re right, even with Teen Titans they try to get the family feel to it and stuff, their influence on superhero teams is pretty unparalleled and it is something that DC lacks not specifically with the family stuff but mainly just teams in general (not biased I promise)

This. I hate how the first issue of The Amazing Spider-Man is Fantastic Four crossover

Forced to do it, because DiDio hates Superman being married with Lois and the retard pushed the retarded idea that he and wonder woman who was a gigantic cunt at that time to be with superman, and he loses his shit everytime injustice is mentioned because it shown that n52 ww was a bitch.
It gets even funnier that he self inserted himself as superman since Diana is his waifu.

Giordano and Carlin-era DC were more mature in the true sense of the word than Marvel's ever been. The interim Kahn era and every other executive editor since then has been disastrous though.

DC and Marvel have different strengths.
Ironically in the comics I think DC does a better job of having individual stories that coalesce into giant crossover events, while Marvel's big events and individual hero stories tend to be pretty shit while their saving grace are hero teams like the F4 and the X-Men, which DC doesn't do as well.

while their saving grace are hero teams like the F4 and the X-Men, which DC doesn't do as well.

Ignoring the Legion of Superheroes, various Justice League runs, the Justice Society, Teen Titans, the Outsiders, the original Suicide Squad, LEGION/REBELS, Young Justice...

DC fans are basically the Sonic fans of the comic world. The company hasn't produced anything good since the year 2000, and its fanbase is full of the most cringe people in existence who seem to get off on the victim complex afforded to them by liking something all normal people hate.

Marvel fags don't get to say shit about anyone over the past decades. They can't even salvage their flagship character and have reduced one of their primary teams to a weird cult.

I've read more of it. I know more about the characters, and more importantly the writers, so I'm confident about what books I will like, what to avoid, and what to give a chance.

because there are more cities besides new york.

The company hasn't produced anything good since the year 2000

And Marvel hasn't been good since Shooter/DeFalco in the late 80s/early 90s.
