I got a sequel idea it’s called Brats Don’t Dance

takes place about 16 or 17 years after the first movie

Danny is a successful actor, and decides he wants to get into directing

the films he makes bombs and he starts to lose heart critic he is good friends with publishes a review tearing apart his latest film and finishes it off by saying “cats can dance but, but they sure can’t direct”

Sawyer and the other talk with him and convince him to give it one more try, saying he should go back to his roots and make a musical

he agrees but says it has to be perfect

they start auditions and Danny cannot find anyone to play the position of lead actress

things are looking bleak when Danny is told about a show that while relatively unknown is wonderful and has a fantastic actress

Sawyer and him go to check it out

when they get to the theater they find it’s rather run down to the point the marquee is broken and they can’t see who the actress is

they head inside and before they sit down Sawyer grabs a play bill

as she’s pursuing it the show begins and just as the actress comes out she goes wide-eyed

Danny sees the actress who is a beautiful young blonde woman and she sings and dances her heart out

by the end Danny is completely taken with her and know he has found his lead

he then gets up to see who she is and meet her with Sawyer following behind trying to tell him what she discovered only to get caught in a series of slapstick shenanigans which stops her from telling him

Danny asks a stage hand who the actress is and if he can’t talk to her

he says “everyone calls her DD, and her dressing room is in the back” he also starts to give a warning about her having a temper but Danny is already heading back before he can say it

finally he gets to the dressing room and knocks on the door

DD opens it and looks around only to look down and see Danny who introduces himself and says he loved her performance

DD goes wide-eyed at this before a look of rage crosses her face and she reaches out to grab Danny

but before she does Sawyer finally catches up and says “DANNY ITS DARLA, DARLA DIMPLE!” in an out of breath and exasperated voiced

Danny looks to Sawyer as she tells him and then back to Darla who is about to grab him and simply say “oh” before Darla grabs and starts to strangle him

Darla then screams how he ruined her career and that she would still be a star if it wasn’t for him

Danny then struggles to say how she still can since she wants her to be the lead in his new movie

at this she drops him and begins to laugh stating she has seen his work and says it stinks

Sawyer then comments on how Darla has seen Danny’s movies and the two glare daggers at each other

Danny then goes onto explain how this time will be different as he’s going all out and making sure that everything is perfect

Darla then starts grilling Danny on things that a movie needs and finds that he is lacking

she then repeats the quote from the review while snickering which knocks the wind out of his sails

Sawyer steps in and defends Danny saying he has potential to be a great director and that if they pull this off Darla can be a star again

Darla thinks on it for a moment with Sawyer piping up again and saying “Do you really have anything better?”

Darla then says “Fine” in frustration but says she is going to help to make sure nothing goes wrong

it cuts to the next day where Danny, Sawyer and Darla are meeting to find all the people they need. Darla pulls some strings and gives them a list of names.

the next part is them meeting with all of the people and getting them on board with Darla building a better report with Danny and Sawyer
