Are things in the industry really this bad?
Anon Babble creator, Nico Colaleo in need of help
Just draw p*rn, bro
Easy peasy
Spends 30k an episode on his indie cartoon (10 eps in total)
Shocked that he's broke
good
hellywood needs to die already this is a good start.
I hope he dies in winter while he's homeless
rude
It's not that bad if you're not a hack. The shutdowns and streaming wars gave opportunities to people who, frankly, didn't deserve it. They weren't funny, creative, couldn't draw, couldn't write, had no vision. When the job market started to stabilize again and there was no longer an excess of animation jobs, those people got left in the dust. Seriously, what does Nico bring to the table? He had lots of chances and none of them were successful. Why would a studio keep risking more money on him?
Also, if you're going on at least six months and still haven't gotten work, then get a fucking job somewhere else. Maybe your life is gonna briefly pivot and you have to work at USPS for a year or two just to make ends meet. That's not the end of the world. It's fucking better than being jobless and begging for money from strangers and colleagues. Seriously, are you too proud to consider applying to Wal-Mart for a job but not proud enough to e-beg? Come on.
You don't have to stop drawing just because it's your 9-to-5. If you're worried about being "too tired" to draw after work, then maybe you don't actually consider drawing fun and are only doing it for the money. People are rarely "too tired" to watch TV or play video games after an eight hour shift because they find those fun. Maybe drawing isn't fun and hasn't been fun for you for awhile but you're too deep in this career path to change. In that case, congrats, you just discovered something about yourself.
Bro can make $2.4k working at mcdonalds. he needs to get off his high horse, thinking wageslavery is beneath him
Bro, have some dignity and take a regular job. That's what SBanon did, and now she works at Glitch. With so many charities people can donate to, like food shelfs or animal shelters, why would I support a random middle aged man?
Nico is a hack but he's been in the industry for a good while before COVID
He was John K's bitch boy who probably wrangled girls for him, or watched in the cuck closet

How and why the fuck are indie creators spending money they don't actually have?
this
Most independent filmmakers go into debt for life. Back in the day, indie filmmaking was applauded entirely because it was a concentrated effort to make a piece of art that would likely only be seen by a few thousand people at most unless it became a total critical darling. The internet gaslit people into thinking independent media is more viable from a financial perspective than it actually is due to the talented few who went viral and became e-celebs, but the reality is those aren't that different from the ones back in the day who would get scouted by a producer at a festival and be brought into Hollywood
AI has eaten that market bro.
His type hates this solution for some reason
I know this is surprising since I JUST won an EMMY last month
even when doing the equivalent of begging for nickels on the street, nico needs to insert a humblebrag and be smug about his toon clout. what a vapid husk of a human. i'd say get a real job but frankly that's still too good for someone like him, i hope he starves himself chasing animation clout for the rest of his days
I absolutely HATE e-begging
begs anyway
Get fucked.
Seems like a bad idea.
Only thing that could make this better is a Kyle Carozza situation
Ooouuggh he got an Emmy, pompous shit thinks he's too good to work a job.
No it hasn't. Plenty of porn artists are still making money because no non-indian person can masturbate to soulless AI-slop.
Those are all established artists with a huge following.
Newcomer and junior artists aren't getting anymore commissions. AI is too competitive.
Newcomer and junior artists aren't getting anymore commissions
Wrong again, there's plenty of small or especially niche artists getting money from commissions or patreon. Just doing a fetish will get you a few people willing to pay for your art
Based
Jesus H Christ, everything about they way this guy speaks sounds performative
He doesn't even come off as a real person
So you think Nico will whore himself into drawing the most degenerate fetishes for a living? Consider his animation career completely blacklisted then.
Get a real job, fatass.
Just a few years ago you were smugly telling the internet that you ruin childhoods for a living and now that you're broke you want us to care? Fuck you.
there's been a lot of AI shilling on Anon Babble today
We've been warning you for years that AI was going to replace artists. You mocked us even when the evidence is now in your face.
Yeah, like this
Yeah, like a typist, or a stockinger.
Pic related was 2 years ago. Now we have artists begging for scraps. Don't say nobody told ya so.
Hazbin Hotel and its consequences have been a disaster for online animation
Now every animator thinks it's smart to pour tens if not hundreds of thousands into a single pilot, only for it to be forgotten a week later
mostly the avatar fags
"Nico" looks like he mainlines estrogen and gets onions enemas.
Oh shit, now I remember what his face reminded me of.
Adam ruins everything. They both have that smug as fuck look.
Maybe go get a job?
Is it bad that I'm kinda happy the industry is imploding?
It needs to burn faster.
Leave no survivors until the slate is clean.
AI is too competitive.
That's not quite true yet. AI is great for pinups, but needs a fair amount of tard wrangling for anything beyond that. If you only make generic, pseudo-SFW pinups then yeah you're in trouble. Just because there's fast food restaurants doesn't mean nicer restaurants are pointless. Hell even mediocre places can thrive if the atmosphere is chill enough. I do think AI will make it harder to survive off of commissions but not impossible. You just have to cater to a niche and draw reasonably well. Even before AI, it usually took a few years of regular output to be able to sustain yourself with only art. Sure, some people get lucky and get a ton of exposure. But most just build up a history of making quality work.
Also AI still has a ways to go for animation. Takes a lot more wrangling, and requires a beefy card. It won't be able to do 360 degree VR videos for a while because those require 4K resolutions (minimum) and your GPU will chug trying to gen anything above 2K, even if it's a beefy GPU. But to be fair, those take ages to render and are a lot more work than a standard animation, where you can hide things with clever camera cuts.
The real power of AI is not its quality, it's the speed. The brain likes novelty. It's why a rat can have sex with 20 different female rats in a few hours, but struggles to have sex with the same one more than a few times. For most people, even now, AI is "good enough" and the novelty of seeing new gens is extremely powerful. You can prompt the same thing over and over, but the little variations in it trick your brain into thinking what you're seeing is new and novel. That's what will kill artists long term. They physically can't keep up with the demand for novelty.
who's that good looking guy?
why do troons think this stuff needs to be in kids shows
So what has he made/contributed that was worth anything? Ollie and Scoops sucks so I assume nothing good
60% of millennials have this exact build
Indiefags deep down, are hoping to get picked up by an actual studio. Ollie and Scoops was pitched multiple times to Nick and other networks
As of now, you still need a beefy machine to gen those videos. Or you need to pay to use an online video generator. That is pretty impressive considering the relative infancy of the technology. But the issue with AI is they are fucking terrible at making more than 2 subjects interact, and even with 2 subjects it requires some inpainting after upscaling. Want a single character? Easy enough even at trickier perspectives. Want that same character behind an object? Good luck! In my experience, any time a scene gets even remotely complicated with its object layout, the AI shits itself. It's good enough for my needs, but my imagination is doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
I deleted it because I agree with your post. Perhaps this year or the next AI will probably solve the 2 characters interacting problem.
Although I've seen good examples like this. It's only a matter of time when it can all be ran locally on a GPU.
Are these people just immune from getting a regular job?
Once you make it, it's hard to convince yourself to find other work
It's like when white collar workers are unwilling to work blue collar or retail when they get laid off
You have it in your head, sometimes drilled in by your family, that working a service job makes you worthless
That and cuckifornian rent
Just like you, pedophile
You can run this stuff on a local GPU now, but like I said, those GPUs are fucking expensive. No sane person would spend that much money on a GPU just for gaming and smut. You'd only spend that much money on one of those GPUS if you did 3D rendering, CAD work, or data science. I don't know if Nvidia will un-fuck itself for the 6000 series. Their 5000 series is laughably underwhelming. I actually have a 4090 I got explicitly for rendering but eventually tried out the AI stuff. It's fun, but still leaves a lot to be desired. I'm hoping the 6090 is an actual improvement because the 5090 is a joke.
He could just offer to get on his knees and suck people's dicks.
Charge $100 per hour for a blowjob.
He already did that for free to get his industry job
Animation needs to be built on serving the entertainment interests of the nation instead of clout, career fantasy, and pleasing executives. Doesn’t matter how “hard” you think it is, a random guy drawing funny cartoons made a big impact on the overall field many times. Do cartoons right or watch things like this happen
Brings up his Emmy Award in his ebegging
Why?
Jobs are for poor people
If you want to make passion projects, prove the passion part by suffering for your art like the rest of us.
Put the fries in the bag, "Anon Babble creator." You can make cartoons when you get back home.
Unlike you and Nico, I'm not like the rest of you wagecucks
T. Currently have a pilot with Disneytva
Get fucked, don't forget your rents due soon. I've been schmoozing it up with celebs all week
I'm so glad to be a porn artist and never have to worry about debt
Selling your soul to DEIsney
lmao this is what you're proud of?
Also what I said clearly doesn't apply to you. I said "passion projects."
He's a cartoonist, not some high payed 6 figure businessman. He can get a job like his other buddies can, suck it up buttercup and swallow your pride.
This IS my passion project, faggot
Don't be jealous just because I now have resources to make it the best it can be while you toil in the warehouse 7 days a week
I'm on easy street now, baby
I'm not jealous mate. I would never sell my passion project to Disney of all things.
I'd gladly work there. But give them the one thing I actually consider art? No thanks.
I hope, and I say this with genuine good intentions, you don't join the lines of artists that got chewed and spit by the Mouse.
Until Disney lays you off for ChatGPT.
Hope he goes homeless
Nico Cola Cao
Why would you wish such a thing on a man who has done no harm to you
Wait and see the Villainous crew end up the same way now that the show went indie and they're making 20 minutes long episodes with a English dub while barely having any money to do so according to themselves on Xwitter
Maxwell Atoms the creator of Grim Adventures was also asking for money to pay debts a few days ago
He’s also been shilling consultations. If you pay him, he’ll give you advice and critiques so you can be just as successful as he has been with Ollie & Scoops!
Get a job you fucking slob
Based
post the screencaps
The le indie animation renaissance bubble is going to pop very badly
Only a few of these shows will remain
Here it is, the most embarrassing thing I've ever publicly posted online!
Who the fuck talks like this?
Early indoctrination. Every second counts
You've no idea the shit that'll make it onto even the fukken storyboard, and anyone in the public that actually knows animators by name knows this
Please, please, please let Pan Pizza make his pilot before the bubble bursts so that he can have a meltdown after it fails.
